Purchased in October 2025 but not installed until mid December 2025. The first time I used it water burnt onto the glass hotplate - difficult to remove, dull marks remain over hotplates. Weeks later every hotplate the glass is dull in places, dull marks and one hotplate where water over boiled is completely damaged, the manual states to clean spills immediately, so I used a clean damp dish cloth only to have the fibers burn into the hotplate and stick.

I requested a warranty claim from the retailer Harvey Norman at Bundall who I purchased this from, they were not helpful and have been of no assistance and refused me a replacement hot plate or warranty claim. They brushed their hands of my complaint.

Their only response was to advise me to purchase Cerapol product to clean the glass and use the scraper. Cerapol is the recommended product to clean marks along with the razor that came with the hot plate. Nowhere in the manual does it recommend to use Cerapol. This should be clear to customers when purchasing ceramic glass hotplates. Stains did not remove the marks completely after using the Cerapol multiple times.

What I believed to be a very fine scratch or stain on the lower right hand side that I could not remove, over several months - this mark was in fact a hairline crack, that became worse over weeks and became evident the glass had cracked in this corner.

The power button is easily turned off if you happen to touch accidentally, there are tiny imprinted markings to show which nob is which hot plate - almost impossible to read, they don't light up. Several family members and friends have all commented it is terrible to try and see which nob will light up which hotplate. Over time I will get used to remembering which nob turns on which hotplate. A terrible design when all said and done.

Overall the operation of this hot plate is not user friendly, the positive is the turn nobs and not touch - accept for the power button which is operated by touch. I specifically purchased because it had nobs that can be turned and not operated by touch control.

I have had a glass hotplate in the past and never encountered such damage to the glass after the first use - especially when it was just water that boiled over! I have a stunning new kitchen and the hotplate looks like it is a 2nd hand appliance within the first use!

My issue was escalated to Euromaid only due to this website and I did receive responses over several weeks which was appreciated. Certainly better service than Harvey Norman at Bundall provided. I was advised a service call will be made and weeks later received a call from local service center company and appointment was made.

To my relief Euromaid have provided a replacement glass top. I am happy that Euromaid have replaced the damage glass top. I am only several weeks into using the new glass top so it is early days. I am extremely cautious now of ensuring there is not a drop of water anywhere on top while cooking. Very cautious now about using a damp cloth immediately to wipe a spill while the hotplate is still warm due to the fibers sticking and making it a worse situation. I am paranoid using this hotplate as it is so easily marked.

It is difficult to give this hotplate a good rating - I am cautious each time I use it as I do not want burn marks again.

I have been advised that the glass used in this hotplate is the same glass used universally for glass hotplates. That is concerning. Over 15years ago I had a different brand glass hotplate and never had the issues I have had with this one.

Euromaid's service:- I cannot fault their service as they have done the right thing by replacing the damaged glass top, it is for this reason I have given extra stars. Would I buy this kind of hotplate again - no I wouldn't. However, I cannot fault Euromaid's customer service dealing with this issue.

Follow-up  · Update review - the hotplate does heat evenly. The power button is very sensitive, if you happen to wipe the glass during cooking - the power button is easily switched off. The scraper tool supplied was replaced with a more durable one that does not cause the razor to slip. In all honesty, the hotplate is a nightmare to keep clean, using the cleaner and scraper helps but you have to be very mindful of not scratching, this includes pulling a saucepan across a hotplate, important to lift or risk scratching the glass. Following up with the polish after cleaning is even worse, it is difficult to polish off and find it very time consuming. It is messy and the only way to finally remove smears left after polishing with a clean cloth is to use a shammy, which is perfect to keep the hotplate without smudges. The glass which I was told is universally used on all ceramic hotplates is no where near as good as ceramic glass hotplate purchased over 17years ago. I had none of these issues years ago using a ceramic hotplate.

Purchased in at Harvey Norman.

Good afternoon Evo Thank you for taking the time to update your review and share such detailed feedback. We’re pleased to hear that the hotplate heats evenly and that the replacement scraper tool has proven more durable and safer to use. We’re sorry to learn about the frustration you’ve experienced with day‑to‑day cleaning and usability. We understand that the sensitivity of the touch controls — particularly during cleaning while cooking — and the care required to avoid scratching the glass surface can be challenging. Your comments about polishing, smearing, and the time involved in achieving a clean finish are noted and appreciated. Kind regards Euromaid

My landlord bought this brand new cooktop to replace an induction cooktop that wasn’t working properly. This Euromaid cooktop works very well but needs to be installed properly so that the cooktop doesnt overheat and cut out (safety feature). Mine was not installed with the required 5mm gap (described in the Installation Manual) that is needed to vent the heat and mistakenly I thought the product was faulty. It is not faulty. My apologies to the Euromaid personnel who conducted themselves professionally when relaying this information to me. Buy Euromaid!

Follow-up  · Installation technician called to check the cooktop was installed correctly-it was not. It is now working as designed.

Good afternoon. Thank you for reaching out regarding your cooktop. The ECCK64 cooktop is a ceramic cooktop and differs decidedly from an induction cooktop. Ceramic cooktops have an element under the glass that needs to heat up, hence the difference in heating times, as the glass is heating it will retain the heat so you might need to modify your cooking processes to adjust. As the top is ceramic glass it will scratch if you move metal across it, as will any glass. We have reached out to you if you need any further assistance. Kind regards Euromaid

Hello thanks for your reply. Why is the glass not more durable given what it is being used for-heating metal pots and pans. Why does it turn off by itself for no reason?

Good afternoon Any glass will scratch, especially if you move metal pans across it. It is made for pots and pans to sit on the surface. If you are wanting to move food in the pans then I suggest you lift off a little and give the pan a shake. The glass is heated by an element from underneath and there are sensors that will cause the element to lower the heat for a very small amount of time so the glass doesn't become too hot. This is a safety measure especially when cooking on high heat or for long periods of time. Hope this assists you with your cooking :) Kind regards Euromaid

Good afternoon if the cooktop is shutting off then the cause maybe incorrect installation. Check the 5mm front ventilation gap as stated in the manual Yes as previously advised this is a ceramic cooktop not induction and the glass will retain the heat as there is a heating element underneath the glass. Glass will scratch if you move/slide metal pots across it. Kind regards Euromaid

Euromaid cooktop – This product/company is terrible! Highly advise not to buy it. I bought this product 2 months ago and have had nothing but issues dealing with this company to have it fixed. It hasn’t worked from the time it was initially bought and I waited 3 weeks for a technician to look at it only for the technician to say it’s not working. I then had to wait another 4 weeks for the technician to come back out with testers to check it and he has chipped/broken the glass getting it out of the bench and hasn’t contacted to revise of the damage. I’m still waiting for the technician to come back with hopefully a new cooktop. During this whole process I haven’t been able to cook and find it ridiculous that you have to wait 1 hour on the phone to be heard. They never update you with when they’re coming until the prior day so you feel ‘left in the dark’ as to when it will be solved.

Euromaid induction cook top poor quality – I purchased Euromaid ECCK64 Eclipse 600mm 4 zone induction cook top and used it only twice in the past 1 year. Now it can't heat up properly even at Max setting. Contacted Glendimplex and customer service was frustrating to deal with. They asked for photos of my bench top which were provided then came back and said not their problem and no technical support. I am furious with the lack of customer support and blaming it on the installer. There is an obvious fault with the unit and I am even willing to bring it down to be serviced and yet Glendimple assumes no responsibility to even send a technician for a check. How can photos be accurate ? I will be lodging a complaint with the ACCC as my unit is still under warranty and Glendimplex does not even do due diligence in checking if there is an appliance fault. Disappointing experience!

Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $349.

Hi Valerie, I'm sorry to hear of your experience. We would normally ask for photos with this type of appliance as unfortunately the ventilation is a known issue with the installation . I will reach out to you directly. Thanks
