We have experienced major problems with Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer and have found it to be the most unreliable and disappointing dishwasher we have ever used. Major issues include: * recurring electronic control board failures * poor cleaning performance * draining failures and poor drying * flimsy plastic rack components * high repair… Read more
costs There seems to be a serious manufacturing issue relating to the electronic control board which even the Fisher & Paykel technicians cannot repair. We have experienced this with our current and previous dishwasher where 4 different technicians failed to fix the reoccurring electronic board failures. Therefore, we would like to warn future customers in purchasing this dishwasher so they can avoid the frustrations and extreme disappoint we have encountered.
Worst dishwasher I’ve ever had. Racks break and are flimsy. Doesn’t wash dishes properly, leaves food dried on. Filters are hard to get back in place once you have taken out to clean. You have to use the liquid tablets which are the most expensive as it doesn’t dissolve solid tablets properly. Expensive to run a full load top and bottom… Read more
drawers = 2 tablets instead of 1 in normal door dishwasher. Do not buy. Waste of money. Our dishwasher came in a fisher and paykel package with our new Mojo Home.
Do you want your dishes, assuming they actually fit, to come out of a wash cycle not only regularly still dirty but wet as well? Do you want a dishwasher that uses the same amount of power to wash half as much as most regular dishwashers? Do you want to have to add detergent, start cycles and clean filters twice as often as other people? Do you… Read more
want a premium priced dishwasher that will start to fail after only a few years of light/moderate use?
You do!?!?
Then Fisher & Paykel have the product for you....
These seem like a good idea and if you're doing light loads, you're not around to listen to them but you are around to open the door when they finish then they're okayish. But their shortcomings get really boring really quickly, thankfully of the four I've known none have lasted long.
Has been installed now for a year and I’ve never been able to use the top drawer as it doesn’t clean the dishes and the bottom one is better but all dishes have to be rinsed thoroughly before they go in. The water sprays around, loosens food off plates and then heats it on something else in the dishwasher. Was installed by a licenced plumber.… Read more
Contacted Fisher & Paykel and someone came around and said it’s not installed properly. I organised a different licenced plumber to reinstall (pulled piping out and reinstalled under the house to the dishwasher) and it’s marginally better but not by much. Not sure what kind of qualifications are required for installation but it seems like it needs a a specialist. For the price of it, very disappointed.
almost latest model design (1 LCD) can not compare to previous model by contruction engeering PCB) . Older model still use if well maintenance even over 20 years old but new model when even still guaanty troubles
So disappointed in this series of dishwasher. We had a double drawer for years…. Then didn’t get another one for various reasons. When we built a small bungalow on our property we opted to go back to the double drawer .Installation was delayed due… Read more
to building trade slow to build the bungalow . What a mistake this product has been for us. The cycles don’t clean very well and you virtually have to rinse everything very well before putting in machine. The plates don’t fit properly When you shut the door sometimes the machine just starts up and then you have a load going with only a few dishes or powder. There is no indication also of how long the wash is going to take which is super annoying . Only good thing it’s reasonably quiet . I would not recommend this product and wish we never got it.
Follow-up · In regards to how many plates the dishwasher holds depends on the size of the plate .The racks are not adjustable. Not sure of the cause of the auto start but it will often just start up after you load an item. We have solved this problem by always having the machine on lock
We bought our first double drawer dishwasher in January of 2023. After 2months the machine got replace twice. Eversince we bought it never stop having an issue. Now it is 2025 we still having some issues. What is happening now is, they've replace the mother board, still did not work. The technician said it is the controller, so we do not have… Read more
dishwasher at the moment because we are still waiting for parts. Our warranty is running out soon, what is going to happen next if its breakdown again.? We have to replace parts and we will shoulder the expenses, wherein from the very first time we had it, never stop having problem. Is it even worth repairing it.? I do not have anything against the staff, customer service and the technician. Ever time I call cutomer service, they are very professional and helpful. Even technician we had, very professioanal and will explain what is happening to the machine. It is the machine that is defective. It is not a good product. So if you are thinking of buying this type of machine. Never this brand. I do not know about other brand. This is our experience with this brand. Do not waste your money. I really regret buying this machine. if only I have extra cash I will replace it now but sadly nothing in the bank left.
Terrible electronic controls keeps unit running and won't let the homeowner shut it down to troubleshoot – Bought this new for our new house and every few months it get stuck and will just keep running for hours with the only front panel button blinking and beeping. The unit provides no way to shut it down....pushing that external button, holding it down...nothing will power the unit off. You have to turn it off at the breaker. Powering it off will… Read more
not lower the sealing top lids and so you have to forcibly pull the drawers out hoping you don't damage those lids or the seals to them....and you still cannot power the unit down from any of the internal buttons on the top of each drawer. From what I can gather on the internet this keeps happening because the unit thinks there is a leak or that there is still water in the drawer(s) that needs to be pumped out. However I vacuumed out any water from each drawer and still the fault would not clear not let me turn off or rest the unit. Soooooooooo frustrating! F&P has been out twice in two years but still this keeps happening. Can't take it anymore...$2500 down the drain and will have to try another brand. Could have been such a cool dishwasher but the engineering of the mechanicals and especially electronics isn't adequate and so the homeowner keeps facing these ridiculous situations where they can't even turn the unit off to try and figure out how to remedy the fault.
Don't buy one – Worst dishwasher I've ever had! moved into our new house with it already installed and left behind my lamona dishwasher, so reliable! Under an hour and the dishes are sparkling compared to the Fischer and Paykel which takes ages, with loads of rejects even when you rinse everything and stack properly and it can't take powder capsules (as it leaves… Read more
a residue) only liquid! How bizarre is that!! Don't buy one, so expensive and can't do the job, we are getting rid of ours and buying a different brand at a reasonable price
Get it if you like to clean your dishes before you put them in – Bought in 2023 the DD60D2NB9 2 drawer for $2000 au. I previously had a Miele that lasted 19 years and washed really well. The 2 drawer f&p was soo terrible. Couldn't put as much in because it only squirts from one sprayer on the bottom of each drawer. Esentially, it was a waste of all the space in the drawers because anything on top of lower… Read more
level doesnt get sprayed. Had to rinse first and still couldn't clean. Used twice as much detergent because we were always using both drawers anyway. Just sold it for $1000 and bought a second hand German bosh series 6. After allmost a year of preserving with the f&p It is awesome to have a dishwasher that actually washes dishes.highly recommend bosh and miele. Oh and I forgot, the fittings inside the f&paykel were also flimsy and fiddly.
Noisy, touchy and time wasting – The house we just bought has an integrated one, so no choice of ours. The dishwasher is the worst I've ever dealt with. It constantly turns itself on and starts washing when all you did was put a dish in, touched no buttons. It does not clean the dishes well, every second wash you have to rewash many of the dishes. It is too shallow to fit normal… Read more
sized dinner plates and good luck with wine glasses or bowls. The plate stands are too narrow for anything like a pasta bowl. I just hate it. My husband just leaves it open all day so it won't start. It's super noisy and the wash cycles are incredibly long- even the fast wash takes 2 hours! How much water we must waste. I had the F&P guy out to stop it turning on- this cost me $250 and it didn't fix the issue although he said it had. The double knock pause hadn't been set up so at least he did that. As it's integrated I can't simply buy a new dishwasher as will have to get a new front panel made. I just want my previous house's Siemens dishwasher which was brilliant. Do not buy this type of dishwasher!
Sorry I bought this model – Last dish drawers lasted 15 years but this new model is very frustrating as cutlery rack too small. Dish racks very hard to fit the plates etc in and doesn't clean dishes as well as old model I always rinse my dishes first and with this model you have to. Very expensive Show details

Breaking News, Dishwasher Allergic to Water and Suds! – On 30 June 2023 our new two draw dishwasher DD60DDFB9, Double DishDrawer™ Dishwasher, Sanitise, arrived, and it looked good. This was our second Fisher & Paykel and our fourth dishwasher in 36 years. The first lasted almost 14 years, the second lasted 11 years, our first two-draw F&P lasted nine years so I thought, aged 70 as I was, this may be… Read more
our last! Well, no such luck.
First, we got flooded by the incorrect installation by Fisher and Paykel mandated installers. They forgot to use a gasket and drip, drip, dribble, we woke up to a kitchen covered in water. Panicked we called a plumber who came and said, yes, missing specialized washer. He did not have one but used a larger washer and cut it down to size. $300 plus GST or $240 cash. We paid cash.
We reported this to Fisher and Paykel who were sorry for the "inconvenience" their faulty installation caused and offered to pay the plumber if we had an invoice. We didn't nor did we have an invoice for the two wet boxes of useless dishwashing pods.
F&P Technicians report: Water Tap Leaks??? No, the tap did not leak, the washer Fisher & Paykel specialist technicians forgot to install leaked. I was a bit narky when I read F&P's reinterpretation of the fault their technicians caused!
Now the dishwasher cost is up to $3140; $2800 for the dishwasher and installation, $240 for the plumber, and about $100 for dishwasher capsules. T Beep-beep-flash-flash, beep-beep-flash-flash, both drawers grinding like on steroids, the off button does not work, and the drawers will not open. Switch off at the power point and call Fisher and Paykel. A week plus later, 7 November 2023 a technician comes and has a look and explained that we used too much powder or fluid, that it spilled over, and the dishwasher got wet. A dishwasher that can't get wet? Seriously?
Anyway, we listened carefully how much fluid to put into the dishwasher, less than a third of the space allocated. So, we did as instructed. After 30 years of using dishwashers without a problem, a dishwasher that is allergic to water and suds. Ahh, the good old days where appliances that used water were waterproof.
A few days later, Beep-beep-flash-flash, beep-beep-flash-flash, both drawers grinding like on steroids, the off button does not work, and the drawers will not open. Switch off at the power point and call Fisher and Paykel. But then, I did listen to the repair man and followed their instructions to the letter, and still the same problem.
I switched off the dishwasher, then switched it back on so the drawers could unlock, then switched it back off. The drawers were not overfull with water or suds, so I guess something else was wrong. Anyway, I emptied the dishwasher and left the drawers open overnight. The morning after, the dishwasher worked again. I assume whatever got wet, got dry.
When Fisher & Paykel responded to my renewed request for a technician, I clarified that I did NOT NEED a technician but a replacement dishwasher, one that is not allergic to suds and water. A few days later, an email came saying that the technician did not find anything wrong with the dishwasher so this will not be happening. I wrote back clarifying if Fisher & Paykel considers a dishwasher that fails when wet as a correctly functioning Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. No answer yet.
I should have seen the warning signs!
We spent a few weeks comparing prices for that dishwasher and settled for $2400 plus installation. We went back to that store to make the purchase and were now quoted $2800 with installation managed by Fisher & Paykel would say to all this. Of course, we did not settle for that and went online to compare prices again.
EVERY price we saw was identical! Whereas two weeks before the F&P Two Draws ranged from $2400 to $2649, now it was $2800 everywhere in our State. It seems Fisher & Paykel price locked this product which I thought was illegal. I should have seen this as a warning not to purchase the F&P but we needed a new one and we spent some time researching pricing. $400 increase in two weeks, OUCH. Well, banks, insurances, and real estate were not the only one's price gouging after covid and contributing to the massive inflation.
So, this will probably not be our last dishwasher with so many issues in the first six months. I wonder what Sir Woolf Fisher and Crosley Paykel would say to the current quality of F&P Two Draw Dish Washers. Could it have anything to do with Haier having full control of Fisher & Paykel since 2012?
How long does F&P Guarantee their two draw dishwashers? Two Year, except for service, one year. Halfway there. Anyway, I will not buy anything else from Fisher & Paykel and at the rate this machine is going, I will need a new Dishwasher shortly after the guarantee expires.
I should have used Product Review, my second mistake. The Dishwasher rates 2.9/5. Well, my own fault for thinking that a product that we relied on for so long will continue to be good. So, I feel like a fool, and we know there is no fool like an old fool.
14 Feb 24 Trying to get the balance of the right amount of powder to get the dishes clean and not too much that the dishwasher shuts down, is nearly impossible. Six months and I had the dishwasher shut down twice, needing a day or two to dry out, and have maybe three loads that were clean where I did not have to handwash two or more items, especially cutlery. Three months of trying, and maybe a 10% to 15% success rate is abysmal.
The powder container is so large compared to the amount of 'Dishwasher' powder that I can put in, about 20% to 25% before the machine continues to run on both drawers and needs shutting off. Why make the powder container so large if it can only be filled so little?
12 July 2024 It is one year old, and I almost have the mix right. Too little powder and we must handwash a dew items. Too much powder and the machine goes into the I hate suds and water routine. From all the appliances we have, washing machine, dryer, two fridges, 5 aircons, dry vacuum cleaner, wet vacuum cleaner, several PC, phones, tablets, monitors, Wi-Fi system, even with the NBN, this dishwasher has caused more trouble than all the other items together.
Let's see how long past the two-yarr guarantee the machine lasts? I will keep this review live.

We love our dish draws – Very convenient having two, but still fit enough in from a meal plus cooking. We've only experienced a good wash so we're really content. They look modern also Show details
So disappointed – I have owned dish drawers for about 30 years in different houses. While they have never been great dishwashers I have loved the drawer concept. This new dish drawer is so noisy, doesn't do a particularly good wash, this is despite rinsing everything before putting in. I have had the technicians out and they reckon it's just the new design!! … Read more
Even the cutlery basket is a bad design, the slots are too small. At approximately $2,500.00 it was an expensive and bad investment. So disappointed.
Disappointment – I have had lots of dishwashers in the past and always the cheaper ones as could not afford it This time when renovating our kitchen I decided to spend the extra to get this product thinking price will indicate quality First let me say it looks nice and is a feature of the kitchen However I think this would only be suited for a 1 person household … Read more
We are a 2 person household and need to run it constantly due to the fact that the water jets are only at the bottom so all dishes must be facing down without any thing it there way So the amount of dishes for each wash is limited There have been cases where I have had to rewash them The dishwasher was not dirty so don’t understand why A bit disappointed
One crucial part Just Keeps Breaking. (x12+) - "Front / Back Clip" – The plastic part that keeps the dish racks together has broken at least 16 times. It's called the Front/Back Clip. It cannot be ordered without buying the dish racks too, hence we have about 20 dish racks that we don't use (and they cost $40 each plus delivery). I'm sad, because aside from this it's a great unit, but this is the one thing that… Read more
prevents us from being able to use it easily. It's super-frustrating, and not something that has ever been resolved by F&P. This problem will prevent us from ever buying another of these dishwashers, or recommending it to anyone else.
Terrible model Lasts 1 to 2 years max – This machine has an inherent fault in the top drawer electronics which fails after 1-2 years of use. Bottom drawer is good and works well without issues. Beware spending extra money on this model as you have to bear the brunt of fixing it every now and then Show details
Never had a problem with other brands – I thought double drawers would be perfect for one person. Even after a sink rinsing, widely spaced plates are unclean and smeary. Glasses urg. No hope for items on the racks. Lots of racking space but nothing is clean. I use a recommended powder and rinse aid. Show details
Useless. Does not clean. Water in bottom of machine – Trying tobget a full refund and replace with another brand. Show details
The best one yet – Even better than the previous model the bonus of 2 draws allows you to only do half a load and not have dishes sitting in a dishwasher till its full like other models Show details
Has a few gremlins – I previously had a series 6 dish drawer and loved it. It lasted ten years, and I had to replace the actuators once which was an easy task. A very easy machine to service. The series 9 on the other hand has a few gremlins. For example: My bottom drawer (and intermittently the top drawer refuses to fully close as the hoses at the back foul on the… Read more
cabinet. The bottom drawer sometimes turns itself on when the top drawer is operating - presumably the touch-sensitive pad is a little too sensitive.
I can’t find any help online about the hose issue and so I am looking at a service call and I am probably just out of warranty. Its a shame because I was a real fan of my old series 6 dish drawer.

Never had a double dish drawer dish washer. This is fantastic – The double dish drawer leaves my dishes clean and sparkling - along with glasses and delicate items. Very happy with my purchase. Have recommended this to other family members as well. Show details
Couldn’t get rid of it soon enough, unfortunately – On paper, it was perfect. “Sterilise stuff the baby in one drawer, parents’ stuff in the other”, or at least so I thought. As an engineer and product designer myself, the experience of this machine was enough to make me shudder. We bought it for our townhouse(two adults and a baby) but it barely keeps up with even a modest amount of dishes. The… Read more
drawer appears to be a useful size, but a single larger or unusual shaped item will have you re-stacking the entire drawer 2 or 3 times. The soap dispenser is very prone to jamming against dishes, and anything in close proximity will limit it opening (often requires re-stack just as you’re about to run it). The swing-down racks that run down each side are clumsy and take up a deceptively large volume even when not in use. Once they’re dropped, it becomes very difficult to place a glass or cup under them unless the rest of the drawer is empty (usually results in a re-stack). Larger plates do not fit at all, and loading the rack with a full load of plates will cause the rack to sag and then the sprayer will snag (re-stack and run it again). Ours is (soon to be ‘was’) a fully integrated model. Looks super slick, but there is literally no way of knowing how far through the wash cycle has progressed, or if it’s even running at all; other than the noise (they’re not quiet). If running, you need to physically knock on the front of the drawer to pause it and allow the door to open, and this normally takes one or two attempts to register (the first ‘I’m trying not to wake the baby’ knocks are never thumpy enough to trigger the sensor). Now, I know this is FWPs to the n’th degree, but this is just painful when you want to throw a dirty cup in 5 mins after it was started (yes, I’m an animal), but there’s no way of knowing which drawer is running; I end up looking like an idiot playing ‘knock-knock’ with a kitchen appliance. Ok, next item: there are very few options for the wash program. The ‘heavy’ cycle barely cleans a full load, and the ‘extra dry’ setting is a joke - you’ll need to be careful unloading the drawers as everything will still be wet. If time permits, I’ll leave the drawer ajar overnight to allow the items to dry properly. At less than 6 months old, the unit is already developing mold around the seals despite a weekly professional clean. It’s noisy, when compared to the series 7 Bosch unit I use at another property. The double drawer is not a cheap system, but sadly it’s performance by any measure is poor. I find the external styling to be novel and attractive, but the internal layout & UI feels dated, impractical and lazy; I haven’t dived into the patents behind the drawer and why F&P are the leaders in this segment, but the lack of completion really shows. This product may meet or exceed expectations for some, and that’s awesome. But, for anyone looking at buying one for the first time, do not think of this as 2x good half-sized dishwashers (as I did). Find a mate who has one, invite yourself for dinner, create a mess and you be the one to deal with it using their dishwasher. For anyone interested, I’ll be replacing it with a Bosch SBV88TX06A.
Rubbish dishwasher… – We are bought the drawers dishwasher machine for the price of the Miele. Is time and money waster unit. It doesn't fit the big plates, plastic are weak. The most convenient washer – Have been using the dishdrawer washers for the last 8 or so years and just purchased the latest model. It's super convenient having 2 seperate drawers for smaller loads which is great for a small household so you dont have to wait the whole week to fill up the washer. It fits quite a lot for what they call a 'half load' and everything stacks well.… Read more
It is quiet and the best part is being able to stack one drawer with dirty dishes whilst one load is running a cycle. It also has a few different wash cycles including steralise and cleans great. Wouldn't use any other style of dishwasher.
Nice looking integrated dishwasher – We selected this dishwasher to be integrated into our kitchen as part of building our dream home. Upon handover, the bottom drawer was not working and we had to get an F&P tech out to get it fixed. Disappointed that a new dishwasher not being used had an issue and a part had to be replaced. Love the seamless look of the dishwasher and the knock-knock feature to pause the washing. It is a bit noisy though. Show details

and always unstacking. spent $2,100.00 had it 4 months, good chance this thing wont stay in my house much longer..
Another Fisher and Paykel item with quality control issues – Once again I spend top dollar hoping to get a premium appliance, and once again Fisher & Paykel fail to deliver. You would think if you spent over $1900 for their premium range dishwasher they could at least ensure that both drawers are level and not crooked. Show details
Good dishwasher, love the drawers – Bought this for my family of 4. It's better than a full size dishwasher because you can fill one drawer then click go, and keep filling the other drawer. With a smaller family, it would take longer to efficiently fill the whole thing - have 3 days of dishes in there. It cleans well even on the 48 minute cycle, and does everything we expect it to. Owned for 5 years. Show details
Good product, good quality – This is a great product. You essentially have two dishwashers instead of one. Great for small loads as can use one drawer individually. The pump filter is easy to access, and the moving components are easy to remove for cleaning. The latest model is mainly of plastic construction so may get fragile over time. Overall a very good product and easy to use. Show details
Sleek and functional – If you don’t have time you put it on fast mode, and it cleans well or on normal mode it’s so sparkley and clean, I love that it’s got two draws and you can do a load and then another load at the same time. It’s so spacious, this is our second time getting this dishwasher, we love it and highly recommend it. Show details
