Don’t buy it! – I read the reviews and should have taken note and bought something else but i really wanted a drawer dishwasher. I regret ever buying it. I hate it. Hard to stack, really difficult to remove racks to clean out filter, items don’t always come out clean. I need to rinse most items. In previous house had a cheap Dishlex which was years old, never rinsed dishes, never used rinse aid and it always washed and dried perfectly. Wish i had it now! Show details
Nothing but trouble – Bought a brand new one 6 weeks ago, installed and within 2 minutes fault code comes up, take it back to Harvey Norman, they ordered a new one, picked up and installed yesterday Again, comes damaged and with in 3 minutes a different fault code, cannot remove the dishwasher (due to the fault code won’t allow us to open the doors)being screwed into the kitchen cupboards. So disappointed Show details
Overrated & terrible design - should not have trusted other reviews – Not satisfied with the cleaning of the dishwasher, on most settings, the dishes need to be seperated out A LOT to get any water on it and often come out dirty. I am having to pre-rinse dishes with this dish draw which I have not had to do with previous washers. The problem is that there is only one water rotor and if you look closely, the… Read more
circumference does not cover the whole draw. Moreover, when you have dishes in the draw, how is the water supposed to reach the smaller dishes kept on the side-flaps? Try looking for dish draws in different brand as I have seen other do a good job, just not this Fisher Paykel dish draw.
Most disappointing design and in hind site, only one source of water sprouting to wash a whole load of dishes does not make any design sense.
Great product – Great product. My parents have one, my previous house had one and now buying it for my second house. Love that you can split two seperate loads. Most times you will find that a standard single door dishwasher is too large to fill on a day to day basis resulting in dirty dishes lingering in the dishwasher for a few days This way you have the option of running a small cycle or a slightly larger cycle. cannot read the controls – fisher paykel have a problem with labeling the controls on their appliances. The dishwasher controls face the front so one has to kneel down to read them and then the labels are so small that one has to get a torch to read them. Their top load clothes washer is the same. Control labels too small. Otherwise the machines are OK Show details
Main control board failed at 18 months, warranty service dubious – This is our third DishDrawer; the first two were purchased in 1999 and 2002 and we kept them going with several repairs until it became uneconomical to fix them, so we purchased this one from Harvey Norman in November 2018. No other dishwasher competes with a double DishDrawer for convenience. Too bad Fisher & Paykel sold out to the Chinese,… Read more
despite being unreliable at times the old NZ-made ones never suffered any issues for at least the first five years, and when they did go wrong, it was usually an easy diagnosis and straightforward fix. Not so with the $2 shop rubbish build quality of the new model. It started playing up on Friday three weeks ago, shutting down completely a couple of minutes into a cycle at first, but then rapidly progressing so that by the end of the day it was completely fried - no display whatsoever, the only sign that it was receiving power being the locks actuating after turning it off and on again at the wall. So we called HN on Monday and to their credit the F&P technician arrived on Tuesday, though we had to wait all afternoon for him. After much head scratching at the lack of any error messages - we'd already advised that when we made the call - he diagnosed that the main control board needed replacing. He tried to feed us some nonsense about causing it to flood by stacking it wrong, but we were not going to take any of that nonsense - one, we've had these machines for 20 years and know how to load them, and two, it's a dishwasher, if the main control board is not sufficiently waterproofed then the machine has a serious design flaw. The technician advised that he needed to order the part, and said he'd be in touch the following Monday. Great, a week of hand-washing the dishes, or so we thought. It's now been two weeks and two more follow-up calls to Harvey Norman, who have been excellent at chasing up Fisher & Paykel, but ultimately are as frustrated as we are. If this is the reliability of the Chinese-made Dish Drawer at 18 months, I shudder to think what it will be like at five years.
Much Smaller inside than older style – Been using the two drawer for nearly 20 years and have purchased 2 others in this time. This newer model is much smaller inside than the previous models and it will only clean the dishes properly on the heavy load option. It also doesn’t dry properly all the plastic containers are wet even on the longest drying cycle. My old dishwasher would run… Read more
on the shortest cycle of 56 mins and be dry at the end. Now it’s running for 160 mins wasting energy just to get dishes clean. Very disappointed this time around F&P bring back the old model I would pay extra to have it .... should have bought a Bosch.
Love it – Great dishwasher. Love the two drawer option and would never go back to single door. Works perfectly for a family with many dishes per day. Only query would be the water use and if this system uses more water in the end. Regardless, I love this and run it on single or double drawer. Only criticism is that it can tip if the top was empty... perhaps this was just the way mine was installed...? Show details
Luv it, BEST – This is the only dish washer for me, dishes fit, glides out easy, can have one drawer at a time on the go for the smaller jobs, don't have to wait to do a full large wash, i can't bear any other dish washer, why the dish's don't fit, wash handle gets stuck, dish's full when you slide out, can't stand that, not clean, would rather wash by hand Show details
Looks Great But Looks Are Deceiving – My new dishwasher worked beautifully for 6 months then it started to leak and smell. I called our plumber to check it out he recommended getting all new seals for this Brand New dishwasher. He asked what type of powder or tablets I was using etc... I couldn't believe it all that money down the proverbial drain. We put new seals in it worked fine.… Read more
We sold the house 16 months later and said farewell to the dishwasher and hello back to Normal Hand Washing. Much better.
