Fisher & Paykel 389L Vertical Questions & Answers
VerifiedHello everyone. I opened my upright Fisher&Paykel E388LW freezer, and the contents were defrosted, but still cold. When the door is open, there are two beeps? What could be wrong please?
Hi anyone ! I have an old Fisher and Paykel upright freezer : N388 The air circulating fan packed in [buzzed for a bit, then tried to spin, then died] Thought I would replace it but there seems no way to get access, as it sits behind what appears to be a sealed panel. Is there any trick to replacing these fans, or is it not possible. Dontya love F&P ? Thanks all

I have a 389L litre vertical all drawer freezer it had only 2 bottom drawers freezing all the rest not working now it has just stopped working at all can anyone please tell me what the problem maybe and how much would it cost to fix thanks in advance Dianne
Best solution is do not waste your time and money trying to get someone to sort out what I discovered was an on-going series of electronic failures. Invest in a more reliable brand. Fisher & Paykel have let me down with many failed appliances as well as the freezer, dishwasher, fridge. Advice from serviceman was to expect problems with this brand.
Thanks for that
Hi,
I have a F&P Vertical Freezer, model N388, with a total gross volume 389 L, total storage volume 288 L, refrigerant R134a, 115 grams, climate class T, group 7 Other info from the plate - Product: 20697 Serial No: RIF 124034 Series: D Approval: Q021064 Voltage: 220-240V 50 H
...just to be sure I have it appropriately identified.
It appears to have just stopped working! No noise, even when I turn it off and on at the main switch ...
What trouble shooting would you recommend to determine what may either be wrong/how I might resolve it not working?
Thanks,
Kerry
There is no solution. We were plagued with repair visits and on going expenses. Electronics were crap. Buy another brand and end your problems. Fisher & Paykel brand dishwashers, freezers, and fridges have all let us down as their quality was not as expected.
Where is the temp control dial on an E388 vertical freezer?
At the back down near the motor it's a small white non has min to max I run ours at around 75 :pre cent
My upwiright freezer is frozen in the bottom 2 drawers yet top 3 drawers of food have defrosted & are barely cool! Weird! Second time I 6 months it has done this. Model E388LW
Having endured constant operating failures with everything from 2door dishwashers, pigeon pair fridge plus that vertical freezer made by Fisher and Paykel. We now avoid that brand entirely and have no further problems. Upgrade!
Your fan at the top of the freezer is not working as it should
The radiator is your problem it freezes up you need to take out your draws remove the screws take the cover off melt the ice with warm water and replace cover it will work but this is only a short term fix
who can I call to check out my e388 upright freezer?
We need an assesment why it keep blowing our power. Once we turned the freezer off all was well.
If u have tried all avenues contact the company direct if its an ongoing problem they may send one of their own reps to see if they can find the source of the problem if its within your product
Where is the temperature control on the uptight freezer 388L please?
I dont believe there is one, freezers are usually kept at the same temperature not like a fridge where its adjusted to suit dependant on seasons or amount of food storage for examples.
I have read the web site and would like to know what the difference is between an e388 l and an e 388 l ww.
thanks
