DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND! It is TRASH! I have a hard shell version- the zipper broke first time I used it because it is thinner than polar fleece zipper, the wheel snapped off in my first oversease trip, & the entire case is cracking at the corners. I have not used it often, I’ve just had it a few years. It never was fit for purpose but couldn’t take it back because I had to modify it to get it home from oversease! Show details
I have ordered 2×suitcases for our Brisbane trip at Xmas. Very very quick delivery they were here within 2days. Nicely boxed up. Thanks ever sooo much Show details
I purchased two flylite luggage cases that come with 10 year warranty. The warranty is not valid for any moving parts apparently. My zipper latch broke and I got a sorry can’t do anything. The locks will not unlock so they offered to get 2 new locks but I would have to remove old locking system and put in new system myself. Can’t use it in one… Read more
as zipper latch u use to lock case with is broken. Again sorry was all I got. Reason they can’t fit the cases under warranty was said to be they are a Strand suitcase so don’t have warranty. Beware buyers if u r considering a flylite suitcase - literally at your own expense. These were the very first suitcases of value that I have ever bought. I have no words to explain how disappointed I have am except to say I won’t be buying from Strand again.
Good value for money – I have just bought my third flylite suitcase as I have been very happy with the first two. The first two have survived several long haul flights. I always put on luggage belts though, to prevent any tearing. I only ever buy them on sale, but think it is reasonable quality for the price for people that use them infrequently. Show details
I like Flylite suitcases – At least 7 years ago we bought a set of 3 Flylite suitcases from Strandbags. They are very light, easy to manoeuvre, lots of handy pockets and so far have stood the test of time. Today I wanted to buy another mid sized suitcase, so the choice was easy as I have had a great experience with Flylite. Show details
Flylite Luggage that’s not fit for purpose – I bought my luggage in as a set of three with a 10 year guarantee. The largest suitcase fell apart first within the first trip popping its seams and spilling luggage in the airport. The second midrange suitcase had the internal divider fray and fall apart. The third carry on had both handles break. Initially I returned luggage set to place of… Read more
purchase and the store didn’t want to entertain refund or warranty. Next I wrote to Flylite and never heard back. I’ve just returned from Singapore and had the carry on break on route to the airport. I’m tired of paying for goods that offer warranty and don’t follow through with honouring it. I’m still within the warranty period but now have to replace the entire luggage set. Be careful what you purchase & consider other options other than FlyLite

4 years (10+ trips) without issue – Purchased via a strandbags sale for $134 in 2019. I remember there being issues with the order, store & pickup, but the suitcase has worked flawlessly across many domestic and international trips. I usually fill it to 18 - 22kg but have used the expansion several times and filled it closer to 30kg. All in all I'm very happy with it so far. I'd… Read more
still be happy if I'd paid $200 for it.
- Zippers: None of them have ever shown signs of weakness or issue closing/opening. Never had the case split or pop open.
- Wheels: Not top tier in quality but reasonably smooth to move around and never had any problems. Can be rather unstable and easy to tip over if you pack it top-heavy, but it's always stayed upright when rolled into position with care (hold it tight on escalators).
- Internal Pockets: pretty flimsy and weak, so don't put anything too heavy or jagged in those. I did punch a couple holes in them early on, but they haven't grown in size and the pockets are still perfectly usable. Great for socks and other light/loose items. The waterproof pocket is well made and keeps leaks contained, but I've only had a few minor ones so far.
- Internal Straps: Never come undone and keep things in place.
Note: - I usually wrap any liquids larger than a few hundred ml's in a wet bag, clingwrap &/or plastic bags. - I haven't had to roll it long distances through heavy rain, but everything's stayed dry throughout the average downpour to/from transport. - I pack all my clothes in packing cubes and other organisers, but also place many loose items on the bottom and around the sides. - I usually travel with a pillow, or use something else to keep things packed tight when it's not full. - I also put a luggage strap around and through the handle at checkin before most flights.

EDIT 2025-05-04: almost 6 years / 15 trips. Still going strong! Front pocket zipper snapped off last trip, but replacement zippers seem cheap af. I only use the front pocket for plastic bags and dirty laundry, so I don't care.
Highly Unimpressed – Well, I got a discount on my first suitcase being a Strandbags member. It cost $243. I got it home only to find the internal lining was torn, so had to head straight back to the store to exchange (as I was heading on an international trip the following day). It seemed to do ok, however last night, finishing a final pack for another trip, I zipped… Read more
it up (it only weighed 16kg) and the zipper broke. So at 8pm I found myself rummaging through my garage for a bag suitable to take on today’s trip (with a 3am wake-up I was really NOT impressed). I will never buy another one, warranty or not, I don’t want another new one, or a fix, because there is not even a guarantee it (or something else) won’t go wrong again. So lucky that it didn’t happen at the airport this morning (with two flights to travel on). So basically this bag last one trip!!!!!!! My last suitcase (different brand) lasted 8 years and a lot of trips, I gave it to my daughter for her trip. I found out they don’t sell them anymore. Glad she got a good one at least. Attaching excerpt of the receipt which shows the original purchase and swap of the first product on same day and last nights photo of the broken zipper. I’d give no stars if I could for the sheer inconvenience of what’s happened.
