Flymo work over water?
Price @ location
Does the blade need sharpening and if so what should be done
No. I had mine for 10 years and never sharpened the blades. I just not had a tiny little lawn area where I lived in England, and I cleaned & dried the mower thoroughly after each use, which was very easy. Best little mower I’ve ever had. I loved it and wish I could get one here in Australia.

Need electric leed to cut lawn on slope as strong petrol normal mower is heavy and cuts inconsistent due to the slant.
Advised by golf club to get Hover model that uses long leed and most powerful model.
Where/how buy in Gold Coast ,Queensland ?
Appreciate your assistance.
Fymo hover style mowers are available from Bunnings for around $300 at end of October 2018. Just check out their website or call to their store. Yes, you will need a long, heavy duty (trade quality style), electric lead. They are thicker than the household ones and have less power droppage over the distance to the mower. I also use a safety switch like the Arlec 4 Outlet Portable Powerboard with safety switch, or HPM 1.6m Extension lead with safety switch, plugged into the wall first and then the lead plugged into the safety switch. This is to prevent electrocution in case I run the mower over the electric lead or go through water. I use a safety switch on all types of eletrical tools, pressure washer etc., not just the mower.
A heavy duty, long electrical lead and safety switch are useful for many things and a worthwhile investment. Remember to keep the lawn fairly short with the mower as the Flymo's do not handle long grass too well. if the grass gets too long, I usually have to use a line trimmer first, rake up the cut grass, and then finish off with the Flymo. Never use a Flymo to cut wet grass because the clippings stick to the underside of the base.
Keeping the blades sharp helps to give a more professional finish. With the mower unplugged and turned on its side, I use a fine metal file while wearing heavy gloves and follow the same angle as the blade edge to keep them sharp. Don't forget eye safety. A mower service centre can do them for you professionally.
Hi Peter, they no longer sell the Flymo Lawnmower in Australia (https://www.flymo.com/au/) or at Bunnings. Your best bet would be to try and find one secondhand on Gumtree where you are located or look at the other electric lawnmowers they have at external link
