My Flymo 350 has developed a vibration while running, I suspected the cutting bar, changed it, but vibration persists? I am at a loss !

Alter position of Impeller / Blade (as a Unit) onto the "Multi Slotted" PULLEY SHAFT. Turn 180 degrees, (if still vibration, turn 90 degrees) On being Successful, REMOVE Impeller, MARK A Position On the Impeller (Dark Texta or file an indent into surface/edge) make note of a couple of Coinciding indications on the Pulley ( Numbers/Letters ) for next time.

If still Vibrates, Remove or Add a SPACER.

If still Vibrates, Kick Mower, (sometimes works on extremely rare occasions) If not, place on Nature Strip overnight. If still there in Morning, you have PROBLEM.

Yes, you can. They are pretty stanard across the whole Flymo range (one size fits most models). In Australia these would probably be ordered by internet.

It seems that this product is no longer sold in Australia but it can be purchased online and imported from the UK. But who would service it if I had a problem? I am 62 yo woman looking for a light weight electric mower.

Hi, It used to be sold at Bunnings but I just checked and it does not seem to be there anymore. The mower really needs very little maintenance and if something major goes wrong I would just get a new one. Having said that, I am a 62 yo old man with a severe mobility impairment. I broke my neck more than 11 years ago and initially had no moment or sensation below my neck but I slowly but steadily improved. I got the Flymo about 7 years ago by which time I could walk with very poor balance and very weak arm strength. I think the Flymo was good for me then but I have continued to improve and recently decided to try a petrol mower despite still having major mobility, balance and strength issues. I got a Victa Super-catcher from Bunnings and I actually found it so much easier to use than the Flymo and it does so much better job and makes much less mess with grass clippings. If your grass/lawns are reasonably flat I would get a petrol mower.

I'm surprised to hear that but thank you so much for your thoughts. Dont you find it a hassle having to go buy petrol all the time etc?

Can it cut long grass or leave grass bit longer than usual?

Dopeler

Peter, No mowers cope with very long grass and the Flymo is probably worse than a petrol mower at this but to answer the second part of your question, yes, it is possible to leave the grass a bit longer. You can adjust the height of the cut by inserting or removing spacers from the blade.
