Have purchased a AR-3142 responses FM transmitter with Bluetoot.I have paired to my android phone and when I make a call it comes up on the screen a call in progress but I am unable to talk or hear anything.
I’m using this for music but want my phone to sync with car Bluetooth. Can I have both at onc working? Seems to take over calls too but bad quality
It will turn the music down automatically so you can talk over the top.
Bought the AR3140 yesterday plugged it in and all works except it appears to play one album over and over and there is a lot more than that on the usb. Can any one shed some light please.
I can't seem to get my car radio to play from this FM transmitter. The iPhone says it is connected and the music is playing when I switch it back to the phone output . The volume is up on their radio, I have tried the frequency on the car radio in FM1 and FM2 to the frequency have paired on the device. But It just won't play on the car stereo. It is a 2007 Hummer. Is it too old or something?
Hi, I purchased the one with goose neck from jaycar. It works great, but at night the med display is too bright. Does anyone know if the display can be dimmed? Thanks.
How about sticking a bit of coloured cellophane on the face of the unit? Coloured anything, really, that will stick on the surface? Or, if it's the gooseneck style, which I presume allows the unit to be moved around to suit, simply turn the unit face down a bit? But you don't read the face of it to see what's playing, do you?
How to turn on blue tooth on my AR3142,my first ar3142 transmitter blue tooth automatically came on ,then would not after a few weeks , took it back ,got another, this one won teven pair to my tablet.cant seem to turn on bt
BT isn't switchable to my knowledge, it's always on. It might be worth trying pair the transmitter to another phone - if that works it could be the phone/tablet, otherwise take the transmitter back and get the store to pair and test one in the store. I've had no problems with any of ours.
Ta ,found problem just have to clear bt cache, on tablet ,may that help someone else,
have brought Bluetooth fm transmitter have done all that is required put it in my Hyundai santafe which is 7 years old when the phone rings they can here me but my radio still plays and I can not here them what am I doing wrong is my car to old to use this item please give me some info so as I can get it to work thanks
yes the question is correct please can you help to get this working diane n
If you bought the FM transmitter new, I suggest you read the manual (under "Bluetooth pairing" and "Bluetooth Hands-free") that came with it. This looks exactly the same as the one I bought; its brand name is "Response", model AR-3140. Might fix your problem.
The car and radio are fine, this thing works in my 20 year old Saab 9-5, you've simply missed making the final mental link in how you use it. The Transmitter is essentially a mini radio station, you have to tune the radio to it to hear it - many people use the phone to play music but not in your case. You have to remember that the car radio cannot play two stations at once.
So... you have tuned a radio station button on your radio to the station the transmitter is broadcasting on (typically 88.2) and you can hear nothing, correct? This is because you are listening to the transmitter and it is not broadcasting any sound. If you set your phone to play some music you will hear it.
Next, you change the radio to play a normal radio station, e.g Triple J or Nova or Classic FM or whatever - you are now listening to a different radio station, not the transmitter, because the radio cannot play two radio stations at once! You cannot hear the incoming call because the radio is on another station but the microphone in the device can still hear you - this is why the caller can hear you but you cannot hear them.
The simple solutions are... - listen to music played by your phone, calls will happily interrupt this and work as expected but you are limited to whatever music sources you have on the phone, or - make sure the transmitter station is set to a preset button on your car radio and, when a call comes in, just press the station button for the transmitter to switch to that station and hear the call and then, at the end of the call, switch back to the original station you were listening to.
It's a similar concept to the DVD or Video and the TV - if you're watching the ABC and you don't change the channel to the DVD/Video when you press play on the player, you won't see the recorded content even though it is playing.
Note: You don't have to use a radio preset to tune to the transmitter but it will be far safer and faster when a call comes in, rather than tuning manually.
Hope that helps.
If you are using this as Bluetooth does the radio have to be on the FM frequency you have paired it with to make/receive a call.EG Paired to 92.00,can you listen to 103.2 and the calls will still come through?
In a word, no. The radio is used to broadcast the audio from the device, the device is like a mini radio station, playing audio from your phone over BT. How could you hear the call if the radio was listening on another station? There is nothing to stop you from changing the station to the device channel when a call comes in and changing it back when it ends.
Short answer is that I don't know. I just bought it as/use it for a simple MP3 player, using a memory card with the songs loaded onto it. Suits me perfectly.
