Terrible sqweeling/screeching sound from rear end.was just on 1side now it's both.my handbrake could use a tighten but even if I pull it up while moving does not have an impact on the friggin noise!! it's doing my head in.also I look like a dickhead being it's a nice car and I'm coming and going with it screaming and screeching fknows what the neighbours are thinking

Hi there I brought a 1998 ford fairmont was running then it went into smartlock mode I have brought and installed a j3 chip to bypass the smartlock but now it will not fire its got no spark or fuel any help would be much appreciated.

I had a similar problem 10 years ago, it was because I let the radio fuse trip, because I touched the two radio/antenna wires together. Try checking that the radio fuse is not blown. If that is not successful then unfortunately I have no other ideas apart from asking an auto electrician.

I have a 98 EL falcon auto that runs as rough as guts. Idles poorly. Have changed the plugs and leads. Could a stuffed muffler and exhaust system be responsible for this?
As far as I know the engine should still run smoothly even with a stuffed exhaust system. I suggest checking the throttle body - try removing and cleaning it. Also check the inlet air pressure sensor. It is a small black box on the passenger side firewall, and there are one or two lines going to it. Make sure the lines are still plugged in. Did your car suddenly start to run rough or did it happen gradually?
Thankyou David. I will check it out. No,the roughness started a little while ago and progressively got worse, which is why I changed plugs and leads. .
Changing plugs and leads is a good place to start. Also it's worth mentioning the possibility of blocked fuel injectors, clogged air filter and worn engine mounts.
My ECU is not picking up wen car is scanned how do I fix it somewhere from OBD port to ECU is not scanning or something like that plz help me out
What operating system does the au series 2 run on so I get the right scanning tool for it
