Best I have had in a long time – Have had another brand for years and after it failed recently, I decided to try another brand. Having had a Garmin handheld gps hiking unit, I decided to try the drivesmart 60lmt. I purchased this unit second hand in very good condition.I love the big screen, clear and precise, easy to navigate the menu and easy to read with lots of on screen options which can be selected as required. Clear voice and directions..starts up quickly and picks up the sats quickly as well. Installation was as simple as plug it in and turn it on. Updated the maps easily and have used it for a while now and love it. well worth the money. Will certainly look at a new Garmin next time I need to update.

Not enough memory – Upon down loading all update memory was 98% full. Who would buy a computer or anything with its hard drive 98% full. Garmin should have done more research on the product development side. It does have an expandable slot for purchased memory why should I have to do this, very disappointed.

Has too many illegal actions – Warnings should be mostly spoken, such as: - Railway crossing ahead, speed change coming up, red light camera, school crossing. A GPS is for guidance in unfamiliar territory and should have the smallest amount of distraction. All unspoken warnings should have a different sound. I believe that if these changes were made this would not only be a legal device it would be a magnificent device. WRL

Garmin has failed again – 6 replacement Garmin car GPS units in two years. Maps up to 7 years out of date. Units inaccurate gps. Spoken voice tells you turn right or left when going over a bridge. Screens wont swipe, or very ,very sensitive. Customer support manager/s not helpful until you get consumer affairs (Australia) involved. I was advised to get my money back on the last unit as Garmin cant give me a satisfactory unit. Retail stores have been fantastic.

Best Gps Unit, Ever!!! – After being asked by Nissan to pay $450 to update the 4 year old maps on my Brand New Qashqai. I went and spent $329 on a new gps unit that we can use in both our cars. I checked all the reviews on different units and decided to purchase this one, Fantastic!!! After a little fiddling around getting it setup just right and trying to download map updates, which were already up to date, this unit works flawlessly. You do need to charge it for 4 - 6 hours before you can attempt to set it up or do anything with it. Has up to date speed zones, lots or warnings about traffic hazards: schools, railway, speed zone changes, and very audible speeding alert. Tells you well in advance about upcoming turns. It learns your regular routes, and doesn't tell you to go back or do U turns, recalculates within seconds if you missed a turn.

It even has voice recognition. In most cases you don't have to touch the screen at all to navigate through the menus. It does struggle understanding some street names. However, it is very easy to type in an address before you start driving. Turns on when you start the car and turns off when you turn the engine off. Lost satellites in the Melbourne CBD, but only for a few seconds. It also offers alternate routes regardless of whether you selected faster or shorter route in the setup.

What doesn't this thing do!!!

It doesn't make coffee!!!

Best feature of all it has bluetooth hands free for your mobile. Very handy for our car without any technology built in.
