Over priced hyped and no support – These are a very poor quality product. I was nagged and hustled to get some for my kids. What a waste of money. The screen is extremely low resolution, they offer very poor graphics, low quality games and apps. Battery life is shocking. When one of the ones I bought stopped working after just a few months for no reason the support from Garmin was non existent. Don’t wast your money. Show details

Love this watch: If I have any problems I contact Garmin direct – Each time I have contacted Garmin they have been fantastic with their customer service. I purchased a few of the Garmin VivoFit like Junior and the vivofit 3 for my husband. They have even sent out spare parts. I hope they can keep the battery like the Vivofit only had to replace battery every two years love the fact of not having something else plugged in waiting to charge. Show details

Trash bands – I've bought two of these for my sons for the last two years. Bands are trash and the little part that allows you to tuck the excess band away always ends up breaking I've replaced each band at least twice now. They cost $45ish for the originals which isn't cheap. The actual watch is also quite poor, close to zero backlight and got to squint to see… Read more

anything.

Would not recommend. I'm going to a smart watch now. KidsOClock watches. Not touching Garmin anymore.

Tracker works as described, but terrible quality of the actual band – Bought three of these in September for my kids (now February) one was a stretchy band type, the other two were watch clasp type ones. The bands have faded terribly, massive patches where the print has worn off, the watch type ones have had the retainer break off, the stretchy one is splitting. One had an issue where it wouldn’t sync, contacted… Read more

garmin they took a week to reply, after back and forth they wouldn’t look at it and instructed me to contact the seller (kogan) apparently they import their own stock. Note one was bought from a local store but couldn’t remember which one. Luckily fault resolved itself a few weeks later.

Wouldn’t bother buying again. Frustrating that the damn things aren’t even six months old yet.

Daughters has large dead pixel area too.

Kids love them – Both the kids and myself love the watches. I am able to set tasks for them to complete as well as give them rewards at a touch of a button. Plus both kids love reading the time! Show details

My 7 yr old daughter just loves her Vivofit jr 2 and wears it everyday! – My 7 year old daughter just loves it. She can tell the time now, loves being rewarded for physical activities and meeting her goals and can do little challenges with her friends that also have one. Show details

Good idea for kids – My daughter loves this and still wears it even though she also has a proper Garmin watch. The app is really useful with the rewards and chores and she still loves playing the game even after all this time. Show details

Good watch, but has some problems – I purchased 2 of these watches for my younger daughters for their birthdays nearly 2 years ago. I purchased a spiderman and princess watch. My youngest daughter is very active, her older sister not so much. My older daughter would always have more steps/active minutes then my younger one. The princess watch was for my youngest daughter. We had to… Read more

replace the battery within a few months. Then again a few months later. After having the watch for just over a year it stopped working. So I purchased her a frozen one, and this one seems fine. The spider man watch always added extra steps but worked fine otherwise, until last week. 18 months after purchasing it, it too stopped working. I replaced the battery, and within 2 weeks it stopped working again. Opened it up and everything was corroded, the battery looked fine tho . She had been wearing it while doing swimming lessons, so dont know if that caused it. Will now look at a different type of watch, as she really loved it.

Disappointed to say the least – I purchased the garmin vivo fit 2 for my 9 year old for his Christmas present. It worked well for 12 months until the battery ran out. I replaced the battery with one recommend by JB HiFi but it only lasted one month, replaced it again and same thing. Replaced the battery again and it worked for only 3 weeks. Sat in the drawer during lockdown,… Read more

decided to try another battery Aug 2021, ran out again. My son is very sad about his watch failing after such a short period of time. When opening the watch to change the battery there seems to be some rust or build up around the section that holds the battery. Not sure if water got in as the housing is not properly water resistant or if it's from the battery corroding. The housing was put back together correctly after the battery change. Either way this product is not worth the money paid and it has put me off purchasing a new model to replace it. I will be looking to try a different brand.

Son loved it, but poor quality, and worse Garmin customer service – Purchased in Dec 2020 for birthday present Jan 2021. Band broke x 1 in May 2021. Garmin replaced the keeper for free, but charged $11 postage and handling (it weighs <1g)..not even posted express for that price! Battery stopped working 26/05/21. Called Garmin. Not their problem apparently. Watch could stop working the day after purchase and… Read more

it is the customer's problem according to them. I understand a battery isn't lifelong, but six months? Garmin told me to try to get it replaced by store where it was purchased (even though they admitted if it was purchased through Garmin website they would not repair/replace. Very annoyed. Happy to discuss more with Garmin Customer Service if they read this and care!

Terrible do not waste your money - not worthy of any stars for review – Words cannot describe how disappointed I am with this kids what I thought was supposed to be a tracker/ watch. The app is useless if you ever try to resync the tracker be warned you won't be able to. Spend your money on a better kids tracker/watch. It has put me off Garmin products for life. Show details

Don’t buy kids garmin products the bands break – My daughters garmin band broke. You can’t buy replacement bands in store you have to buy them online. I bought one for my daughters birthday online and it has been a month and I still have not received accurate tracking or the product I paid for. I have emailed and messaged garmin through various avenues with no response. $60 down the drain. Very disappointed Show details

Too expensive to only worked for just 1 year! :-( – I purchased two sets for my daughters in March 2019 and new batteries have been replaced twice in less than a year for both of the Garmins. Now one of them is completely not working. I thought it needed a new battery (again) but after I changed with a new battery it is still black-out and not working. Show details

Great features poor quality – Was my sons favourite gadget And he used to wear it all the time until he broke the watch band strap, we couldn’t find the strap band And it wasn’t sold separately in stores, and on Garmin website was roughly 40$ So we tried eBay and the new silicon band didn’t work for a week Show details

The best thing my boy could get for his 7th birthday! – My 7 year old got it for his birthday. It's been awesome for him and us. Great idea, poor product – Great concept. Both my kids’ Garmins worked well for a couple of months, then needed their batteries replaced. We were replacing batteries every month or so. In the last month, both Garmins stopped working after a swimming lesson and now won’t come back on, even with a brand new battery. Very expensive product for a kids watch that needs constant battery replacement and now after less than a year doesn’t work! Show details

Waste of money – I don’t normally bother writing reviews but this watch has really bothered me. First there was a battery recall so Garmin sent out a new battery - awesome. The band broke within the first couple months so bought a cheap band on eBay which actually… Read more

lasted longer the the Garmin band. Then the button would often get stuck, after 14 months the watch has completely broken , not turning on at all. There are a few good reviews and maybe we were unlucky and bought a dodgy one. I will not be buying another Garmin ever again.

Don't waste your money – Bought 2 for my kids birthday. 1 lasted 9 months then the button stopped working after a day at the beach. The other one barely lasted 3 months before it stopped working. They just aren't rugged enough for kids to use on a day-to-day basis, which is a shame because the concept is good. Show details

Kids activity tracker – A great activity and sleep tracker. I love how I can upload the data to my phone and track the kids activity and especially their sleep. The only problem has been the band. Both bands from both the kids watches broke within 4-6months of purchasing them. Show details

Absolute rubbish & Garmin don't recognise the faults – Bought 2 for my kids for christmas. They were scared of losing their watches despite them being waterproof so took them off when swimming. The first time my son didn't take his off (he was in a rush for his lesson) the watch piece fell out! After checking in with the pools maintenance team for over a week, I decided to replace it for him as it was… Read more

helpful to see his rest vs activity time especially given his needs. This was of course when it actually synced as the App and Watch very rarely ever work (so much so I've stopped bothering trying). Very long story short, they have agreed to replace the 2 watches I still have but not the initial one that fell out. Nothing but trouble these watches & app are. Also the hoops they make you jump through just to turn around and say it's not a manufacturing fault is ridiculous. It's taken over a month to get a resolution out of Garmin and even then it's well short of fair. Will never purchase Garmin again.

Disappointed – I bought my Daughter a Vivifit Jr 2, very disappointed. Difficult to sync with the App, and the screen is so dim i literally have to shine a torch into it to see it. For the money we paid for it, I expected more. I took it back, and got a replacement thinking it was a dud, but the second was exactly the same. Love the idea behind it, as does my… Read more

daughter.. she is excited about earning rewards, and clocking up steps etc.. she doesn’t seem to worry about the dim screen, which is why I even bothered keeping it.

Disappointing go say the least – My son bought one with his pocket money. Worked well for a few days, then noticed it keeps bad time, loses a few minutes everyday. Syncing fixes that. Then it decided to stop counting steps. Got it replaced and now the new one keeps worse time and no longer wants to sync to his tablet. Show details

Don’t bother – We have had the older generation of vívofit for both our kids, no issues what so ever and both still looks new. Decided to upgrade them with cute Minnie Mouse and Star Wars version but in less than a month after ownership the ‘paint’ is chipped and peeling off We don’t even wear our watches in the pool, shower etc Have contacted Garmin and waiting on a resolution Our band is clearly faulty Show details

Exactly what I needed for my daughter – I love the fact that I can program in her schedule via an app on my phone. This then synchronises with the watch and when it's time for her e.g. music lesson her watch notifies her of it and she knows she's had got to move. Show details

Garmin vivofit jr.2 – So far so good. My son is loving this watch. I set chores for him and he likes having them ticked off on my end. A lot of kids at school have these so they often use it in the playground to measure their activities. He swims, showers and sleeps with it.  Show details

Poor battery life, 2nd unit to fail under the 12months warranty – It was good when it worked, alarms and chores rewards etc. First model lasted 2.5 weeks before getting a black screen, this was replaced. But now the replacement has black screen in a little over 6 months. Its just a time waste to sit on Customer Serivce for 15mins before you get an answer than will now have to post the faulty unit to Garmin. Needless to i will go back to Fitbit now they do a Childrens model.  Show details

Long battery life, water proof and easy to use – I bought one for my 6 y.o. for Xmas and she has found it easy to use and we have personalised it's features for her. It only needs a battery change every few months so no ongoing charging required. It seems hard wearing and she has worn in the pool a few times with no issues.  Show details

Love the features of this fitness tracker – My 7 year old kid asked for a "step tracker" for Birthday. He specifically wanted a Fit Bit. After doing some research I found this and it is for kids and comes in awesome colors. I ordered it and I was nervous because there are mixed reviews. All in all we love it so far and I would highly recommend this to anyone. Super easy to use and also a good learning tool for any child.  Show details

Good for a reasonable price – Garmin Vivofit Jr 2 at JB HiFi as a gift. Like the name customisation and display (if you have multiple watches). Quick and easy to setup too... just download their app, create an account and sync the watch. Can set chores for kids, goals and let them earn rewards. When the watch re-syncs, app on phone grants kids some game time, like Star wars (depends on what version you bought)  Show details

Great little watch for the younger kids – I got this for my daughter. I would recommend this watch to kids between 5-8 be careful of the wrist band it might not fit some kids that are Abit older. Besides this kids love it and love collecting reward coins from doing chores. Love how you don’t need to charge the watch like the Fitbit and it can get wet.  Show details
