Bought a case or red. Most tipped down the drain. They were brown and must not have been stored correctly. They also claim some of the wines are expensive/quality when they can be found on clearance sites at low prices. Not at all happy. AVOID.

I also later. read that this company operates a scam where they advertise the wine as being very expensive, and advertise it on another site the one for the higher price. However, apparently the wine never sells for this price and the advertisement is a scam. When I investigated there were no other sellers of this so-called very expensive wine and actually it turned out to be very mediocre- probably a $10 wine so 16.99 was way too much. I will never purchase from them again.

 Follow-up  · Yes we tried the wine. I would say that it’s about an $18-$20 bottle of wine based on previous experience. Certainly it was nowhere near a $99 bottle that it was supposed to have been before the get Wines Direct supposed reduction. I saw the ad in one of the Sunday papers- I think it was the sun Herald but I can’t be sure. It’s not a paper that we normally get, but I was somewhere and I saw it and I ordered the wine after seeing the ad.

further 10 days I wrote to Senior Management at GWD to advise that, after many years of purchasing wine from their company, I would be buying wine elsewhere in the future. End of story.

in a wine fridge at 12 to 14 degrees did not change the taste of this wine. I have complained in writing [email] to Get Wines Direct but they have done nothing to give a credit for the remaining 7 bottles. They obviously do not stand behind the product they choose to sell.

I've been using the service for some time now and have enjoyed some really fine wines, good prices, properly organised delivery and some excellent bargains . Additionally the website changes frequently and there are often very good offers. Website ordering is easy and smooth. Really rather good . Recommended for those wanting good value for a wide range of wines .

always had good cellaring results. Some of the two for one case offers have been exceptional. A few of these were initially purchased for cooking but ended up saving for direct consumption as they were so good.

Call list, but guess what? I JUST GOT ANOTHER CALL TODAY, then was told it takes 24 hours to activate which seems like an utter lie. When I told her to stop calling, [Name Removed] hangs up in my face.

There are laws around this and if this does not stop, I will be taking this further and it is now becoming pure harrassment.

And also the reason I only ordered once and never again was because the wine was poor quality.

Recently when their delivery system failed, it was discovered they do not have insurance with Australia Post and I lost the value of several boxes… Read more

of wine that they refused to replace blaming Australia Post. Instead offering $50 credit on my next purchase as an act of their good faith. There are other direct wine options available like Vinomofo, Wine Direct, Just Wine to name a few that offer free shipping and some insurance to cover any losses and that's who I will be dealing with in future and recommending to others also after the treatment received from GWD.

I have been using them for almost 17 years now and have never found a wine "bad" enough to return, which they say you can. Even when I take the marketing calls, they are respectful, polite and never never pushy. Well done GetWinesDirect.

Disappointing first experience, never again – I purchased 12 bottles of wine for $15 per bottle and also used cashrewards for 10% cashback. A week later my wines arrived and I noticed that I had not received the wines I ordered. charged me the higher price of $15 per bottle based on my original order. I contacted GWD and they failed to respond via email. I then contacted them via web chat and was told I could return them via the post office or arrange for Australia post to collect them. Neither was an easy option due to current commitments. I would also have to wait for a refund until the items were received back. They also stated my original messages had gone through to spam !

Instead I told them I would keep the wines and opt for them refunding me the difference in price. With work commitments and Christmas obligations I am unable to wait in for Australia Post and unable to to spend close to an hour taking them to my local post office to queue up and return them. They did refund me the difference a week later after I chased them up a second time. There was no real apology and no offer of compensation. I also lost my 10% cashrewards cashback as they cancelled it when they did a partial refund due to their error. I am now left with wines I don't really want that cost me more than if I had purchased them directly. Not to mention the incorrect charges on my credit card when they sent me a cheaper wine that took a week to refund. This was my first purchase and I will never go back as overcharging is never acceptable. For $7 a bottle they should have told me to bin them and refund me the full amount.

I should add I did try the wine and it was hideous. I unfortunately ended up tipping them out. Such a waste of money for something I never wanted.

Now changed to useless Aramex for delivery – Until recently GWD used Aus Post, they were always fantastic with tracking and notifications. Now they have changed to Aramex who are useless in regional areas, taking 3 times longer than Aus Post to deliver with very little or no contact re deliveries. and also offered a $20 credit to my account. This credit then never showed up. The wine still didn't turn up. Finally, I spoke with a manager who then escalated to another manager. No, their system won't let them deliver the wine now as it was originally deemed a suspicious email. However, they still charged the credit card. No, they can't refund the credit card, the system won't allow it. What type of system declines a transaction but still takes the money and then refuses to either deliver the goods or provide a refund? Only option is to dispute on the credit card which will take 8 weeks. Meanwhile, 3 other orders arrive perfectly. Alas, despite all the discounting, I have found each of the red wines, 8 in total, and very bland with a poor taste profile worth only a fraction of their discounted price. Customer service staff are very pleasant but their wine and their management team and systems are very poor.

Incarnate Chardonnay, valued at $80 was not very good, can understand why it was a failed export stock. I have always loved a chardonnay old & new style. Normans Regional Series McLaren Vale Chardonnay was very nice and the Cantina Tollo Rocca Pinot Grigio was nice. The Mount Bold McLaren Cab Shiraz was good. The Striking Red Central Otago Pinot Noir 2019 strips your throat as it goes down. I have ordered quite a lot of wine with Get Wines Direct and this is my bad experience.

sent them back, and the rest have been really good, including some ansolute gems. If you buy 2 doz with get one free at average price $6.50 per bottle, what do you expect. Lift your game people and be selective….they have some excellent wines at excellent prices. Do your homework.

No One is Perfect, Unless they are [Content Removed] – I have been buying 8 to 10 doz per month from GWD for past 5 years. All wines good value and drink well. Only 2 bottles a bit off. A big plus is Aus Post delivery, then you do not have the courier steeling your wine like with Dan Murphy courier. 5 stars from me. Show details

telemarketing or scam caller than I’ve ever experienced. You’ll note they feature regularly on the nuisance call reporting websites. I only wish there was some kind of regulation around this so they could be penalised for harassment.

They do not deliver to door as claimed – They claim "Getting wine delivered to your door" on their website. Untrue. They use Australia Post, who choose not to deliver on the Sunshine Coast, at least from the Burnside depot. single case of wine. I do not live in a remote area. Get Wines Direct refused to pay for the travel expenses incured or time wasted and offered a $20 voucher....which means Groundhog Day! Seriously stupid "service". I have not had this problem with wine deliveries from others. This means they have lost yet another customer.

Totally hopeless – I have been a GWD customer for over 20 years, and until recently (most likely from when the business was sold 12/2021), the service has been atrocious, and they have seen the last of my business. Now saying they have not received payment for my last order (which has taken 10 days to confirm) and my bank says payment has been made.

Not recommended – The wines are fine but the packing was completely inadequate. One bottle broke and it was a miracle more did not. The couriers deserve a medal and as it was near Christmas, we accepted. I notified the company upon receipt but received no reply. I've let it go. I don't need this hassle, current or future. Please make your packaging more secure...others can do it.

here we are, nearly 2 weeks later. I have 3 boxes cluttering the garage and nobody has collected and they haven't refunded my money.

In nearly a decade of purchasing wine online (Virgin wine, Laithwaite, Kemeny), I haven't had this level of poor service.

If they don't pick up soon I will have to open a dispute with Paypal to get a refund. I would gladly throw the order in bin.
