Steer Clear of Haier and Fisher & Paykel Appliances – A Frustrating Encounter with the HCE604TB3 Cooktop – My recent acquisition of the Haier HCE604TB3 60cm 4 burner electric cooktop has led to a rather regrettable experience, marked by both an unsatisfactory product and disappointing customer service from Haier (Fisher & Paykel). Just nine months into its use, the front right burner malfunctioned, prompting me to initiate a warranty claim. The technician assigned to the job arrived unprepared, lacking essential information about the issue, and proceeded to dismantle not only the stove but also the unrelated oven. To my surprise, the technician attributed the malfunction to a "pest problem," specifically claiming that a cockroach had "shorted out the burner."

Compounding the frustration, the technician declined to reveal the precise location where the alleged cockroach caused the short. While the accompanying photo failed to provide definitive evidence of live or active cockroaches, it did showcase troubling signs of cockroach feces. To add to the disappointment, the technician insisted on a return visit "with parts," coupled with an unexpected chargeable service fee of $230, asserting that the issue was not covered under warranty.

This disheartening encounter prompts me to firmly and politely dissuade potential customers from considering products from Haier and Fisher & Paykel. The lack of transparency, questionable diagnosis, and unforeseen charges for a seemingly straightforward warranty repair raise concerns about the reliability of these brands. I wholeheartedly advise consumers to explore alternative options with more dependable customer support and transparent warranty policies to avoid the frustration and disappointment I experienced with Haier and Fisher & Paykel.
