Hailea Air Pump HAP-80
MPN: HAP-801 review
High reliability at a low cost – We live on small acreage and have an Envirocycle septic system which relies on an aerator and a pump. We have tried around four types of pumps with the Hailea HAP-80 being a winner on four counts thus 5 stars. Pricing is excellent but need to shop around. New diaphragms are cheap and easily available which a handyman could fit as they are easy to replace. Warranty is one year with ours just starting to fail now but it has been well over two years so warranty is excelled. So if one has new diaphragms on hand the pump could be back in action within an hour. This pump uses 60 watts of power which is reasonable considering many other pumps use much more wattage to run. We have tried the name brand pumps that have failed in less than two years (It is always the diaphragms breaking) with the diaphragms costing a mint compared to the Hailea HAP-80 diaphragms. So for us it is a win- win on all counts using the Hailea HAP-80. When the diaphragms fail the pump overheats and cuts out and/or trips the safety switch on the switchboard. It will restart later but will simply cut out after a period and this is worse in summer. I am retired from Engineering with Electrical Qualifications and the last thing I want to do is constant repairs on vital equipment. Hint, we have two Hailea HAP-80 pumps so that when one starts to fail we can easily install the second one thus keeping system working and no pressure to put new diaphragms strait away into the failing pump.
