Faulty fridge shelves had to chuck the fridge away – Purchased from good guys Bundaberg, Beware only 12 months warranty on the parts to the fridge not 3 years manufacturer warranty like they say. Disgusting the fridge was purchased in 2021. Just like others have stated. Only this year the fridge shelves have started to completely crack and become broken. Making 2 shelves not useable at all. I’ve… Read more

just had to buy this fridge again with glass shelves because this particular model has been discontinued due to the shelving issue now the new fridge has glass shelves. hopefully we will have better luck. 3 years warranty only covers the fridge motor and Compressor. Our old fridge lasted 20 years and it was plastic shelves also the white metal shelves we have had known people to have these and lasted. By the time we had added up how much the cost to replace fridge shelves it wasn’t worth the worry. It was going to cost more than what the fridge is worth. $60 per shelf. Spoke to customer service who got very aggressive and rude when I told them I will report the company to fair trading decided to hang up twice. Waited 20 minutes to talk to someone each time when I questioned them about the fridge and told them it’s against consumer law rights to be selling such poor quality products got hung up on and told we will not be replacing them. Without payment. The good guys in the end become quite rude when I requested a new fridge to rectify and under goodwill. Got very rude as well.

This fridge is my enemy – I've had this fridge for a few years now. I hate it and the problems started within the year then got worse since then. I told myself we could make do but if you're reading this, save yourself the trouble and buy another fridge. Because of the poor design of the internal freezer door, ice builds up quickly, especially around where the door sits. … Read more

Eventually this pushes the door out of its hinge and the brittle plastic cracks. Once that happens, ice build up accelerates and even after gaffa taping the door it falls off every time I go to open the fridge until the door snaps completely on impact. I bought a replacement door, rinse, repeat, same deal.

Defrosting is not a sustainable solution. I would have to throw out a freezer full of food every month to do the long defrost process that then leaves a huge puddle of water to clean up, then wait ages for the freezer to be cold enough again.

And why should a fridge need so much frequent attention? Who has time for this?

The upper shelves of the fridge get cold enough to freeze food and sometimes the eggs and milk in the door too (I have to keep them in the vegetable crisper which is fine because it's not very good at keeping vegetables fresh) but turning down the freezer setting then means nothing in the freezer is properly frozen and can become unsafe to eat. There is meant to be a range of temps to find a happy medium but it seems to only result in 2 settings: either everything is frozen or nothing is frozen.

Saying it's just a bar fridge is ridiculous - what bar fridge has a vegetable crisper and egg compartment? If you just want to store drinks, the design is even worse.

The middle shelf split and then broke. The fridge door is taller than the fridge itself for reasons I don't understand so putting microwave on top requires blocks to prop it up so the door can open.

The only good point is that I guess it's not noisy but that's less than the bare minimum you should expect during the normal lifespan of a fridge.

I dread opening the fridge because the freezer door falls loudly to floor and is pain to prop up again. It makes me not want to have home cooked meals. Guests make comments about it. I can't wait to afford a new one. I wish I had spent the money I spent on this taking my chances with a 2nd hand fridge. I will send this one to the tip.

Brilliant customer service from Hisense and The Good Guys! – I bought this little bar fridge 3 years ago and it never skipped a beat until just out of warranty. Murphy’s Law. I took it into their recommended repairer who confirmed that the compressor had failed. Contacted Hisense and within an hour they happily replaced the fridge with a new one. Hisense and The good guys went above my expectations to… Read more

rectify the situation. Brilliant customer service! The freezer in my original one always worked well and the shelves cracked a little (hubby had a lot of weight on them) but we braced them with a piece of dowel from underneath and they all worked fine.

Love the modern but retro look – Only bought this bar fridge yesterday. Love everything about it. Even though large for a bar fridge it is very slimlined so looks great in any space. Lots of room and shelving. I have bought this as a second fridge as always have stuff overflowing in my main fridge. The main reason I picked this model is the freezer was a generous size for a bar… Read more ·  1

fridge. When you open it the lighting is fantastic. I can really see everything that is in it. Only early days but very, very happy with every aspect of this fridge.

Very poor quality shelving – Every shelf of this Fridge and the Crisper draw is of substandard quality. I am the second owner, bought it with 2 years still left on the warranty, shelves and Crisper draw were still intact, must stress i did not put a lot of weight on these shelves and it wasn't long before 2 shelves cracked, very flimsy, not long after the Crisper draw… Read more

cracked. Not a good product, wouldn't recommend it at all. As i am the second owner, i cannot claim on Warranty. Apart from the plastic parts on the inside of the Fridge, it does what it's supposed too, quite well. I did ring up to see how much each shelf would cost and was told around $50. Crisper draw was around the same price. Full price of the Fridge itself was only $320.

Ok smaller sized fridge – Good size for one or 2 people. The door sticks up above the top of the fridge so you cant sit a microwave on top as the m'wave door wont clear the fridge door (you can sit m'wave on something to make it higher though). Shelf above crisper is not flat and has ridges cast into the plastic that makes cans etc a bit wobbly (why couldn't it be flat… Read more

Hisense?)

Shelves have a turned down lip at front which can make it a bit fiddly to get taller objects in.

Plastic (shelves/ freezer door/etc) does feel a little "fragile" but so far (2 months) no issues.

Great energy rating and runs reasonably quietly. Would buy again and overall I am happy with my purchase.

UPDATE May 2020**** The fridge is still quite and running well but it needs defrosting quite often! Bit of a pain! The handle hole in freezer door lets the freezer build up ice near it (and on top of the ice indicator). The shelves are also very brittle...... and so easy to crack. I sent Hisence an email regarding a replacement but heard nothing back! Pretty poor.

Shelf spacing is also a little weird- many standard size containers struggle to fit past the down turned lip on the shelves front.

Im still happy with it, as its quite and cheap to run. Just a few issues that really dont need to be issues with a few slight design changes. Doubt I would buy again.

Nice Fridge – Nice fridge with plenty of room. Super quiet. Nice colour. The freezer door is a bit hard to open and close but a bit of oil on it fixed that issue. Build quality is good as you'd expect with the price. Show details

Much more than a Bar Fridge – We recently purchased two of these Fridges for our B&B. This fridge is much more than a bar fridge. It has a great size fridge area and large freezer. Two door and we bought ours in Stainless Steel finish. We highly recommend this product. It’s quiet and frost free too. Great value for the price.  Show details

Hisense Fridge – I had to buy a bar fridge because my old one was in a built-in cupboard. The only one that fit the bill size-wise was this one. I had my reservations but it has turned out to be a great little fridge. Keeps everything cold, freezer is great and is very quiet. It is a bit delicate inside, for instance, I wouldn't want to be too heavy handed… Read more

with the shelves or door to freezer but I am very happy with it. I wish they made it in cream or white but only black & red. Got it for a great price too from Retravision for $270 as it was on display for clearance. Perfect size for a single person as kitchen fridge or great as bar fridge too. Bonus is 3 year guarantee! So far so good.

Very handy larger bar fridge – We use this as a bar fridge but also as a main fridge overflow as out main one is quite small. It has been flawless in the time we have had it can barely hear it running unless I put my ear against it while its actually on. Looks stylish and understated in black. Works well!  Show details

Perfect for Bachelor Son living at home – Very quiet, easy clean and maintains excellent temperatures in both fridge and freezer. Fits 12 precooked meals in the freezer. Compliments our main fridge/freezer. He keeps his food purchases separate from ours. Ideal for his milk, soft drinks, eggs, butter and chocolate. Doesn't clog up our fridge anymore. Problem solved!  Show details

Perfect Size For 1 Person – I bought this fridge as I needed something small for just myself in the small amount of space I have in my little kitchen. Its perfect for one person as I can see all of the food I have without having anything hidden and forgotten about for months. The motor is silent and the light inside is bright and lights up the whole fridge. The freezer… Read more

compartment is quite small but I don't really need anything bigger and it keeps the temperature steady. This fridge is super easy to clean as it is small and you can take all the shelves out when you need. The aesthetic of this fridge is another thing that drew me to it with the matte black colour and single door. I'd also say it would be a really good bar fridge as well if I was using it for that purpose as it has heaps of shelf space and shelves in the door that can fit larger bottles.

Ideal fridge on a very good price – It does maintain a good temperature in all compartments. It is so quiet, that you don't realise that there is a frindge in the kitchen. It keeps the food fresher longer, especially if you sealed food in plastic bags. It is a pleasure to clean the glass shelves. It is more hygiene friendly.  Show details

The perfect medium sized fridge – We bought this fridge as a temporary while we wait on ordering a larger fridge and we are very happy with it. Size is great and with an energy rating of 3 starts its not bad. We love the black look, which doesn't smudge and its very quiet. The only con would be the freezer which is very small and it also is just not cold enough, although we are still experiemnting with the freezer temp.  Show details

Does the job! – This is a pretty good fridge, I've had it for over 2 years now. with no problems. We have a main fridge in the kitchen but this is an additional one in our bedroom (yes, we are that lazy). We usually use it to store drinks and ice-cream as we've had other items such as food sometimes become a bit frozen. I love how convenient the size is, it doesn't take up a lot of room and is very easy to clean.  Show details

Good stuff – It's a good choice if you don't have too much food needs to be stored in the fridge, since the size of it is relatively smaller than the usual ones. However, I think it saves electricity somewhat due to this factor. It normally works in silence but maybe it's depending on what kind of food you put in and what the temperature you set for the fridge… Read more

and the temperature outside of the fridge. Basically it maintains a good temperature in all compartments but you need to clean out the ice often in the frresting chamber.

OK as a normal fridge (if you're desperate) – Love the look and the size. It's just a tiny bit too small but otherwise we've adjusted to it (bought mainly for size and energy efficiency - off grid living). The latch that holds the freezer door broke off within 30 days of purchase and it has a great deal of trouble freezing some things. We've found that if freezing is really essential then… Read more

we had to put it at the back of the freezer and keep other things in front. (Could potentially benefit from a piece of polystyrene or something to improve freezing capability.) Seems to keep everything cool but really hard to judge in a Queensland summer. Very quiet, easy to move, easy to clean. Probably best used as a bar fridge or where it won't be packed full of groceries. In spite of obvious problems I still quite like it.

Good Little Fridge – This is mine and my husbands first fridge together. There hasn't been any problems and it's very convenient to fit in small spaces. Great for energy and that's a reason why we chose it. Go for it. :) we bought it in Melbourne and have it moved to Queensland, even though it was sitting in storage for a couple of months, it running just as well as it was before the move.  Show details

Good for a studio – Used it in my studio layout, i put the ice tray in the freezer compartment as a test. It turn out to be ice cubes after that, so i am just happy it does work. Also it pretty efficient running at 190kwh, for a 157l. Recommend highly for studio situation. Dont expect to buy 3L milk  Show details

Worst fridge ever – This fridge will not freeze anything, after I complained to Harvey Norman, I was told it is merely a bar fridge and is not meant to freeze. Freezer section doesn't work that well – We do use it as a spare fridge/freezer. But the freezer section doesn't appear to work all that well. We made some soups and put about 8 of them in containers in the freezer. About 4 or 5 days later, I went to take one out and only the ones at the back had frozen, the 4 closest to the plastic freezer door were still liquid. There is a large… Read more

hole in the design of the plastic door to the freezer, and this must be why the ones closest to this door just couldn't freeze. So, although it's okay as a fridge, the freezer part is definitely not a good reliable function
