Absolute filth – + Cheap TV, not bad picture for the price except for the black which is kinda grey. - When using YouTube app, the remote lags by 2-3 seconds rendering it unusable. Imagine trying to type with a lagging remote - impossible. Further more you can't really forward / rewind YouTube videos due to lag - as above. Further more, YouTube frequently… Read more
freezes while playing videos - you'll get stuck on loading screen while nothing is happening. I once left it over night to see if it picks up - no result.
I absolutely hate this TV and will never buy any Chinese piece of junk again. I thought I was getting a good deal - turned out to be a nightmare. I'm being forced to watch YouTube on this TV via 3rd party hardware (PS4) to keep my sanity.
There's no customer support, Harvey Norman should be ashamed for selling this junk to people.
Buy Hisense at your own peril.
Customer don,t care – Don.t bother bother with customer care because they don,t care.Tried to solve a problem with our t.,v & fair dinkum even they couldn,t give their own product a rap .What a terrible company to deal with.DON,T BUY HISENSE EVER!!!!! If I could I would give them MINUS 5 stars. Show details

Do yourself a favour & pay the extra money and buy a better brand – I have had my 50"Hisense smart TV and it has been nothing but trouble. I bought the Hisense because it was about $300 dollars cheaper than most other well known brands and offered a two year warranty which the salesperson highlighted. Well were do I start with problems: 1. Lets begin with turning it on. It takes about 20 seconds for a picture to… Read more
appear. Then you get a Hisense picture on the screen which takes as much time as a Russian nuclear factory takes to warm up. Awesome the television now begin to work.
2. Now to use the volume. There is another 10 seconds lag time for that function to work. Sometimes it works and then sometimes it doesn't.
3. Now don't even try to use the functions such as google, youtube, netflix. As far as I'm aware that is the main reason why you buy a smart tv. None of these functions have ever worked properly and often freeze or take a very long time to work.
4. Now to turn the bloody thing off. The remote control off button usually doesn't work so I have found out the best way is to turn it of is behind the tv, which defeats the bloody purpose of having a remote.
5. I have contacted Hisense on numerous occasions to have the problems fixed and they use every excuse under the sun as long as its not there tv. They will probably tell me its global warming next time. Oh I forgot they were going to send me usb to help with the television, never arrived.
I couldn't agree more with Amy L review I have been on my mobile phone for 45 minutes and still waiting to speak to a customer support person for Hisense. I find it interesting while being kept on hold. Hisense have a message telling customers if you can't turn your television off with your remote than use the power off button on the back of the television. This indicates to me that Hisense know they have a faulty product but instead of fixing the television or replacing them as per warranty they expect the customer to just live with the use an inferior/damaged products.
I have never written a review before but after waiting on the phone for 45 mins I got bored and wondered if I was just unlucky and got a lemon. After checking out this site it seems like the norm.
I cannot emphasis enough pay the extra money and buy a decent brand it's not worth the nagging I have suffered from the wife about being a miser and buying crap.
Has everything that one could want plus 3D – I bought Hisense K390PAD 55" Vision Full HD 3D capable Smart LED-LCD TV 55K390PAD last week and i see there are quite a few inadequate reviews of Hisense of what works and what does not. So I thought i should write one. As a software professional and techno savvy guy, i could not help but notice the strength of Android on the TV. I was torn… Read more · 2
between Sony Android TV and HiSense but eventually the cost effectiveness won and i am happy of my decision. and Plus you get 3D.
Pros
------
1. The air wand remote control works amazing. It is actually like a mouse in your hand. The pointer disappears if you don't sue it for a few seconds. Switch the remote like a wand to get it back.
2. All the normal TV functions are hassle free. The normal TV and also the air wand remote works exactly like any other non smart TV or remote when it comes to normal channels so that old school people do not have to worry about smart functions
3. The EPG - electronic program guide shows a little preview and and the schedule. I liked the interface.
4. History tab shows all the apps that are currently running. you can switch between them like your windows laptop or android phone
5. It has 21 apps preinstalled. and if you want more, you can get them on google play store. I installed Yupptv app and FX file explorer. both worked fine.
6. The chrome browser works well. If you log on to it from laptop and opened a few tabs, you can sync them onto the TV using "Other devices" feature of chrome.
7. It has facility of recording onto hard drive and you can schedule a recording too. I haven't used it yet but i explored the function a little bit. You can record while you watch other program though
8. Any view cast works great. You can use DLNA / screen mirroring/ wireless display from your android phone and the phone screen shows up on the TV. Good for showing presentations and photos. Although this is never a good option for streaming videos on any TV.
9. 3D works amazing. I downloaded a few 3D videos and also tried online videos streaming. I did not notice any lag or problem. Start your video from USB drive or online or disk and then go to settings -> 3D settings and switch on 3D type. The side by side works great. I could not figure formats for some online videos but that may be because i don't know enough about 3D yet. I also used 2D to 2D mode and saw that the 3D for the normal TV channels was also quite effective. Not as good as 3D of course, but it does give sense of depth. Try increasing depth to 8 points instead of the default 4 to get more effect.
10. As everyone has already mentioned, picture and sound of the TV are great. The brightness is also to my satisfaction
11. if you are not comfortable with air wand remote mouse, you can always connect a wireless USB mouse and keep it beside your remote. Improves your operation time by 50%. I am yet to try Hisense remote app from android phone. It does exist in play store though. But the air wand was so comfortable eve for typing that i put that to low priority.
12. I did not have to connect Ethernet cable. the streaming and even yupptv work fine from wifi.
13. The TV does have a blue tooth in the menu too. I have not used it yet.
14. The initial setup wizard is standard android phone setup wizard. choose timezone, pair remote, sign into google id etc.
15. if you have used android phone or iphone, this TV looks just like another huge tablet in terms of interface. so its intuitive to use and no surprises in user interface.
16. I use yupptv and i simply had to download the app and sign in. No device to be attached and no hassle of configuration. Haven't tried Netflix yet.
17. The sleep timer functions well. I put the timer to 20 minutes or so and my daughter hates that. It calls it yukky TV because it warns her a minutes before and powers off. But i could have expected some place where i can see the count down and how much time is remaining. Not necessary but nice to have feature.
Cons with some fixes or workaround
1. The start up time - yes. Since it is an operating system it does take about 45 seconds to reboot. But i don't see that as an issue. It has a nice good login and animation to keep you entertained. and launches to last channel you viewed from the TV before you shut down
2. USB drive connection worked okay for me. It detected my 1TB hard drive as well as pen drive. But the file explorer app is not pre-installed and the "Videos" app did not work for me. I installed FX file explorer from play store and explore files from there.
3. The response time of the TV improves later after a few minutes but it is not as responsive for a first couple of minutes. I guess because it is an operating system
Cons that i could not find workaround to
1. Speak now feature did not work for me well. But most of the people who reviewed have written that it works great. I have not explored it much. Just once and the app failed. I will try it more.
2. The initial load time is more for the TV on startup if you have already connected the USB drive before powering ON. It is because it tried to mount the drive on its own. You need to have patience in that case or reboot.
3. The Any view cast did not work from Windows 10 laptop for me. I could not cast files from my laptop. You may want to get a 49$ chrome cast to do that.
4. Some apps of the TV crash sometimes if you try a couple of things concurrently. The free RAM is most of the times is around 150 MB which may run out. I have to switch off and reboot the TV again if an app like Live TV crashes.
5. The YouTube widget on the TV is old and does not connect to network and the one available on play store is extremely slow for Smart TVs. The same YouTube video streams great from chrome but waits to buffer a lot in the YouTube app. So if you want to watch YouTube videos watch them from Chrome and not YouTube app. A little inconvenient. Also i could not hence cast the videos from my android phone YouTube app to TV YouTube app. The pairing option is no more available on new YouTube app. I hope Google fixes this problem soon.
6. The 3D turns off after a few seconds after video ends. So when you switch to next 3D video, you have to switch on 3D from settings again. Nothing gating as such but a little painful if i am watching 10 different 3D videos one after another. 3D does not turn off when you pause the video - that's at least good. The Hisense 3D glasses switch off to save your battery after 15 seconds when 3D switches off. so you may want to power them on again. Nothing of a problem though.
To summarize, none of the cons should stop you from buying the TV. There is no competition to this TV in cost when it comes to 55 inches 3D TV and all smart feature seem to work fine too. I also have posted resolutions or work around to some issues above that a few of the people reported in previous reviews. If you can afford to buy a Samsung, Sony or LG TV with this configuration, go for it but otherwise this is the best bet.
Hard to fault at this price – Bought this to enter the large TV realm at a lower price than the usual top brands. Very impressed with the excellent picture quality, I really can't fault it - handles action and panning really well, great contrast and I don't feel as though I'm missing anything compared to more expensive TV's. I've turned dynamic contrast and backlight off as… Read more
they are usually poorly implemented on all TV's in my view with slight changes being distracting to me personally.
People are exaggerating regarding turn on time - its probably about 20 seconds which is longer than normal but this has an android operating system and all computers take time to load up, its not that bad losing 20 seconds from your life! - turn it on first then load your DVD or whatever you are doing and then its ready
I agree with the comment about switching sources - that is a bit of a pain and it would be nice to be able to re-arrange the Android menu a little, and ad some shortcuts.
I would recommend this for all applications except can't comment on gaming.

Satisfied for the price – Have owned a couple of Hisense TVs and I think you get what you pay for. Personally, I've always been happy with the quality of the picture and audio this TV produces, but where it falls short for me is the sluggish interface. It takes a while to turn on and load the picture, and it takes a while to load most elements of the Smart TV. Show details
Great Tv – Had this nearly 3 years and never had an issue. Can't best the 3 years warranty either. Good overall price and really can't complain. Warranty was a big reason why I brought this brand. A 3 year warranty that's included, what more can you ask for. Really can't complain. Value for money at the time of purchase. Show details
Really happy – No complaints so far. Picture quality good, sound is excellent. We run Foxtel through our TV without any problems. We use the Aps and find YouTube very handy. My parents bought the exact same TV and their picture faulted after 12mths and the technician was at their house the next day. Service was excellent. Show details

Horrible – Definitely the worst smart tv money can buy. Unfortunately it uses android so you can’t update it anymore and therefore can’t get Netflix and other streaming services. It’s insanely slow and takes almost 1 minute to turn on. Never buy Hisense! Show details
Horrible! Do not buy any Hisense tvs – First off this TV constantly loads on YouTube. Then there aren't any apps where u can watch television shows without paying for each individual shows! I wouldn't give any stars on thous ridiculous trifling brand of TV. To make it even worse it has all these ridiculous apps for foreigners. Like why sale this in America if you aren't catering to the american population. Beware do not buy!! Show details

Bought This Smart TV 5 years ago – This Tv was cheap. It has never missed abeat in 5 years. Picture quality was good at the time and is still good. The Android os is slow, but I never use the os. I just have always used either a media centre PC with TV. Now I use Nvidia Shield with it. Still going strong. No complaints from me. Show details
Awful tv for the money – I have owned this tv for a year and I hate it so much I will never buy a Hisense product again. It is overpriced rubbish. It is a supposed smart tv - well it's not very smart. Most of the preloaded apps do not work, the internet searching is slow and cumbersome and we just don't use it. Instead of featuring the most used buttons on the remote control, you have to go into the very slow user interface which takes a long time to load and navigate, it is not a logical set up at all. For some reason, ti weighs an incredible 55 kilos - who makes a tv that weighs that much...only Hisense...and it doesn't make any sense to me. Try getting that up and down 8 flights of stairs.
The picture itself is ok, blacks are awful and voices are often out of sync which is a known issue with the tv. Save your money and avoid Hisense.

good value – we bought this years ago, we do not watch TV often though. The smart system is slow and very few apps for you to download, which makes me to buy a tv box plug in through HDMI. But hey, you got what you paid for. so far we are happy about this. definitely will buy another Hisense TV, not only because it is my hometown brand, but it is money worth. Show details

My guess is that Hisense know what a pile of crap they've created and simply cannot resolve the issues so are hiding from any questions/queries/complaints from their customers.
If you are thinking of buying a hisense tv, DON'T.
You will regret it.
Do not buy, terrible functionality – TV looked great in the showroom and I wanted 3D which it has, but functionality is terrible. Takes ages to switch on, menus are excruciatingly slow, and trying to change the source input means going through 2 sets of menus and clicking many many options. The apps are slow and can't even run any good ones like Netflix, which I wanted! Will not buy Hisense product ever again. Show details
Nice screen but horrible customer services – The TV is all good with its picture and sound quality, however the andorid system is very slow, and Hisense drops support for its mainly advertised feature for Voice Command and blamed that to be google's fault. Nice theatre tv – Picture quality awesome the sound is great and love YouTube and Netflix plus the Hdmi ports are good connection to the systems and the functions are awesome I recommend to buy it A great tv and if your looking for it to be in your home theatre it will be great
So Terrible!!! – So very disappointed. Almost never works. 2016 and I own a Smart TV that is not smart at all. too. Customer service has been unhelpful first time and second time. 4 yrs later and OVER IT. We are now seeking out a new tv and this time will spend the money to get a model that people trust. Do not buy! – Takes a really long time to turn on. Apps and smart functions a very laggy and slow. No Netflix. Remote batteries last 1 to 2 weeks and the cursor doesn't work anymore. Picture is reasonable. Definitely spend the extra money for a bigger brand or get a non smart tv.
Warning – Had my 55 inch 8 months same problems as the other bad reviews. Laggy, NO Netflix (not compatible) along with other decent apps, YouTube too slow, running old Android 4.2 also no os updates, power off takes a couple of times to turn tv off, plus more but the picture is good. Spend the extra on a better brand.
Very satisfied - Value for money – I brought the 65 inch TV a while now and it does everything perfectly and best of all, its $1,000 cheaper than the nearest rival. The performance is fast and the graphic is pretty good. The sound system is good enough without addition speakers required. Very good purchase. Value for money.
Very slow and often non responsive – I have owned this tv for 6 months and really regret buying it. After a few months the screen started to turn off while watching it (the sound still worked but no picture). This happened for 10-20 seconds at a time to begin with but as time went on, it would be off for 30 minutes before randomly coming back on. It then would not turn on at all. No… Read more
picture or sound. Being under warranty, Hisense had a repairer "replace the main board" and said it now worked fine. Well it's been 3 days now and it still is not perfect. Usually when it's switched on it will display HISENSE powered by ANDROID (for about 20 painful seconds may I add) but only 3 out of 6 times I have seen this screen since it's been fixed. The other times its just black for 20 seconds before it comes to life.
Other notes about this tv - it gets very laggy when going through menus and often freezes with a message along the lines of 'Live tv is not responding' I have found once it's on that you have to wait about two minutes before changing channels or accessing tv guide or menu, otherwise this is when it freezes and becomes non responsive. The remote is terrible and requires you to push a button multiple times before it actually responds. I didn't actually require a smart tv as I live in a rural area and have limited internet accessibility. I only needed one to be able to watch tv but this seemed like a good buy. I don't use the apps or wi fi or anything which could contribute to slowing it down.
My dad bought a Samsung at the same time as me and using his tv feels like a breeze compared to my slow, constantly freezing tv.
Great TV – Bought this TV a couple months ago. Picture quality is great. No idea why one of the reviews say input lag for games because there is none at all, No more than any other TV anyway. It is active 3D which I found out is actually better than passive anyway. Works with Samsung Bluetooth 3D glasses. The only real downside is the length of time it takes to power on and the way you need to change inputs.
Excellent picture quality, incredibly slow and (already) outdated – I bought the 55" model of this tv a bit over 12 months ago, and was immediately impressed by the picture quality. The colours are deep and lush, while the black is nice a dark; not completely black, but certainly dark enough to satisfy most. The built-in speakers are acceptable, however I would suspect that most people would be using a home… Read more
theatre system or similar, so the inbuilt speaker quality is of little importance.
Set-up was easy, there was initially a bit of an issue pairing the remote to the TV, but a reboot fixed that. The TV scanned and found all TV channels without fault and then continued on to the heavily customised (and non-user customizable) Android 4.2.2 home screen. Note that 4.2.2 (Codename Jelly-bean) is now quite an old version of Android, in fact it was the last version that Google certified to be used on large screen devices before the current version 5.0 (Lollipop). I found the 'wand' style remote easy to use and hold. Voice-search was a great inclusion, but not particularly instant.
Be aware that this TV is basically a large (very slow) tablet. It's a tablet first and a TV second. It also has no sleep function, meaning that when the device is powered off, it will require almost 30 seconds to start up and enter a usable state. As others have mentioned, changing inputs (which cannot be renamed) requires you to enter the device settings. Changing TV channels up/down takes a second, which makes trying to quickly skip up or down a few channels at a time quite an experience. Apps for GoogleTV (which is what this device identifies itself as) are becoming rare, so expect to find that many of your favourite apps will not be compatible; and yes, that includes Netflix (note that you can actually install the regular Android version of Netflix, but it will have to be 'sideloaded' from a 3rd party, and it's a bit clunky without a touchcreen).
I initially had problems with Chrome (the internet browser), saying that it was 'out of date'. I spoke to Hisense and they express posted me a USB stick with a new version of the TV operating system on it, along with install instructions. Unfortunately, the USB stick contain firmware for a different model TV and the upgrade process rendered my TV unusable and it was replaced under warranty. While removing the sticker that advertises the features of the TV from the front of my 2nd TV, a long strip of the brushed metal finish was removed as well, and the 2nd TV was replaced with a 3rd, free of charge. 2 months later, the WiFi started playing up and I considered having it replaced with a 4th, but after a few words with Hinsense they agreed to give me a full refund. It was quite an adventure.
Hisense Customer Service were very pleasant to deal with, and I feel we reached an appropriate outcome.
The sexy looking K390pad range could have been something very special, especially considering the outstanding picture quality. If only it were faster, and not bogged down by an old, almost unsupported version of Android.
Brilliant all rounder smart TV – Great picture, surprisingly good user interface most inbuilt software is fine except you tube which google ruined. deal breaker. Reception fine but a little more prone to interference from spark transmission. Responds well to controls and air mouse not too bad but you'll want to bump up the sensitivity from default. Yes start up is slower but that's because it has to load android and it does that pretty quickly. Love the 3 year warranty. Only one year from panasonic and others. So far, worth every cent.
Flawless – I've had my 50" K390PAD Hisense Vision TV since 24 April 2015, and it's never skipped a beat, I am completely thrilled with my new television, its pays to do research before purchasing. If I hadn't won it I wouldn't have bought it – I won a 55" model about 4 years ago at my local club, I won another one a few months back, a 55" K390PAD which was really good because the other one, while always slow to start, had begun blanking out, the antenna input wasn't working anymore and the TV spent time thinking about what the remote had just told it to do, so I was about to replace it.… Read more
Aside from being a jammy git that won these we still need to use them to watch TV, we use Free to Air and Cable. The TV is average really, slow start-up, navigating between inputs is tedious and you can't move the video inputs to favourites which would make this much easier to use. I was disappointed that a Smart TV doesn't have a Netflix app but I fixed that via Apple TV (that I purchased, but would rather not have had to). I keep hearing that Hisense make great TV's, I'm not seeing it. They're cheap and they're average, Friday night football on channel 9's SD coverage is horrible. The power-up and refresh rates on the new TV are much improved on the older one but in the long run you get what you pay for, happy to win one (or two) but wouldn't buy one.
Waste of money and space; does not deliver as promised – Cannot load Netflix, iView, Yahoo7, Tenplay or update Chrome, Firefox or IE. Remote control is clunky and hard to use. Changing between inputs difficult. Response to speech input via remote poor. Terrible picture lag. I am extremely unhappy with this purchase. Service staff were less than helpful and basically said "bad lucK".
Annoying to use - Poor interface and huge start up time – Reasonable picture, but the start up time is far too long near 20-30 secs and changing channels and volume is laggy. Another crap feature is changing inputs. Settings; scroll 8 clicks to video input; scroll another 4 clicks to HDMI. Whatever happened to a basic input button remote? and its laggy and doesn't always remote from pressing buttons due to lag. I'd rather just pay for a better TV in future.
Great TV however...Horrible input lag. Do not buy for gaming – The TV is aesthetically pleasing and the picture and sound are fairly impressive. The response to speech input via remote is hit and miss occasionally. Changing between TV inputs such as HDMI inputs, requires one to delve into settings rather than select intuitively on the remote in a simple manner. The other option is to walk to the TV and… Read more
press the "source" button on the right back-side to cycle through inputs.
Unfortunately after owning the TV for literally 4 hours, I was left disappointed as the performance with gaming, be it consoles or PC; left a lot to be desired (This was to be my primary use of this TV). There is no gaming mode selectable within menus. This leaves the TV with massive input lag due to apparent heavy use of picture processing which have lack of tunable options for turning off within menus. MEMC (Hisense's motion blur reduction) was turned from low to high and "off" as well as Noise Reduction; all to no avail. To the point where games are unplayable. For example, you turn left on a game, half a second later the screen obliges and displays this movement. Too little too late. Even the use of a mouse was difficult in hitting a mark on the screen. You tend to overshoot as you wait for the on-screen cursor to "catch-up".
Great bang for your buck, as a TV, with multimedia playback and recording functions (usb drive not included) and the smart TV functions are fine although typing (on-screen keyboard only) or entering text with the small remote may prove trying at times. Just don't buy it if it is to be used for any gaming.
Otherwise great TV and recommendable.
Great picture but very slow to respond – The picture quality is good but the TV is incredibly slow to respond. It takes literally minutes between pressing the on button and the TV to turn on. Often, a little black box with program information appears randomly and with wrong information and does not disappear again. At times, this blocks out a quarter of screen and makes watching TV a… Read more
very unpleasant and frustrating experience. With regards to the smart ability, typing with the remote is very tedious to the extend that even searching for a youtube video is so frustrating that it is much easier to just watch it on the laptop or tablet. ABC iview doesn't work, so I need to use my laptop for that as well. In summary, I cannot recommend this TV and would not buy it again.
