JDate is a scam – I joined hoping to meet Jewish matches in my area. Within 2 days I was bombarded with fake profiles from another country. I contacted JDate and received no reply. Don't give these guys a shekel. This is a scam!!

JDate rips off Jewish Singles – JDate is an online dating service for Jewish singles worldwide. It is owned and operated by Spark Networks USA. Their site hosts a very small selection of of the single Jewish community and choices are limited. Emailing is supposed to be free but they won't let you know if your email has been delivered (or even sent) unless you pay a hefty premium. The result is that many of the emails sent go unanswered. The matches they present are often entirely inappropriate and in some cases the member is no longer active. JDate keeps these profiles on their site to give the impression that it has a large choice of members. It is very difficult to cancel membership. When you try to cancel they present you with several confusing screens telling you that your membership will be immediately suspended, "do you really want to continue???". If you have paid for a month you usually want your profile to remain up so it's not clear how you should respond. Companies that deliberately confuse and obfuscate the truth are engaging in unethical conduct. If you are Jewish or just want to meet a single Jewish person, avoid profiteering companies like JDate and go directly to Jewish community organisations or social groups in your area. They have a genuine interest in seeing you meet someone nice and you are much more likely to be successful
