Very disappointed with this watch and, particularly, the customer service. We were told the watch had Gorilla Glass, yet ours cracked within the first year. When I contacted customer service, I was told the warranty had already expired and there was nothing they could do, other than offer to sell me a new watch. For a product at this price, I… Read more
expected much better support.
The main reason we purchased the watch was for the location tracking, as my son rides his bike to school. Unfortunately, the location tracking has been extremely unreliable. On one occasion, at 9:15am, it was still showing that he was nowhere near school even though he should have arrived half an hour earlier than that. It took around 20 minutes to correctly position him, and then it repositioned him again, showing him further away than before. This is simply not reliable enough for something we purchased primarily for safety and peace of mind.
To make matters worse, I was blocked from their Facebook page after posting a review about my experience.
It's incredibly disappointing, especially as we specifically chose an Australian company because we wanted to support a local business. Based on our experience with the product and customer service, I would not recommend it if reliable location tracking is important to you.
I don't usually leave negative reviews but the GL20 smartwatch has been a massive disappointment. Bought last October, it started failing after six months. The tracking is inaccurate, the screen barely works and it randomly switches to airplane mode, leaving me unable to contact my daughter. It also rings loudly even when set to silent/vibrate. top of the hardware issues, the packaging arrived wrapped in a document listing other customers full names and product complaints which was highly unprofessional and worrying. I do not recommend this product at all.
GL50 - We bought two watches, for our twin girls - both broke in 4 and 6 months of purchase with different issues. Best to save up for Apple Watch instead which can now do much better with the gps and be set up as a kids watch also. Don’t waste your money. As they were Xmas presents we have now had to replace and spend more money to do so. Show details

Birthday Gift – We purchased this for my granddaughters 10th birthday and it's been a huge hit. We wanted something we could use for school pick-ups/drops off so we could contact each other encase of emergencies. I've found it's been a great option if you're not wanting to give your child a phone yet. The tracking and geolocation are a big seller for us but also… Read more
being able to remotely take photos, check the battery life and have it locked during school time have been amazing. She loves that she can chat and video call us but I can ensure only pre-approved contacts can contact her. 10/10 purchase.
More than expected – We have been enjoying the watch and have been very useful growing into the last years of Primary. The location function has been tremendous. With regards to this order, received it on time and intact with the website ordering very streamlined. Show details
It perfect and my daughter loves it – It makes things easy ,now I could track my daughter and know her where about. Show details
Happy Mum – I recommend The watch it's easy, it's convenient, it works.. I bought this watch for my daughter's birthday..As she wants to start walking to and from school.. I can stress a little less knowing she can contact me anytime, anywhere.. It's also reassuring knowing where her location is and getting notified if she stpes out of the safe fence.. (The… Read more
location is a little off.. Also had a little trouble recharging the second time round but got there in the end)..She's happy so therefore Happy mum..
So far, so good – Bought this for our 7 year old. Only on 2nd day of usage/testing and so far I am very impressed with the device. I have read countless reviews prior to this purchase and it's looking to be a very reliable watch as advertised. Setup: The setup was a breeze - on the unit, on the phone and with the network. We got an Aldi sim and setup was also… Read more
straightforward.
Calls: Awesome.
Messaging: Tested SMS and was very easy to use even for myself. Perfect with the little fingers.
Chat: there has been negative reviews about this. Yes, it doesn't offer texting and people noted they can "only send emojis" - but you also have an SMS function on the phone to send actual message. Chat even allows sending of voice recording so I don't know what was the issue with other users.
MyFamily App: Works like a charm. Love the disable in class feature - exactly what we need. Also good to have the start and shutdown time I can schedule overnight for battery saving.
There are bad reviews about Location Accuracy, but I don't see tat this would bother me as long as I know generally where he is which is either with us or at school. At least for now.
Build quality is 4/5, it's plastic but still well built. Could be close to 4.5 if that is an option based on price point. It's a kid's watch so if they make rugged versions of these, then that would be 6/5. lol
As an IT guy, I am not a fan of anything that runs on built-in batteries as these are consumables that will reach a certain EOL. I rate this 4.5/5 overall which is for a very early review. Can change depending on the battery which is often an issue with these devices.
TLDR: So far, wife and I are very happy with this purchase.
Ps. Price includes accessory and had 15% off.
Bought this watch a few years ago for my daughter. It has been terrible the entire time. We have had problem after problem with it. With little help from KidsOClock. Emailing back and forth for years. - One example is the location range is terrible. It shows my child in a completely different suburb than where she actually is. - Another is the… Read more
app won’t do anything to the watch as it always says “device offline”. - Another is if the watch goes flat it doesn’t come back on when charging. It just stays completely black and doesn’t come on for weeks.
I have sent the watch back once and nothing was resolved. They said they couldn’t find any problems with the watch. I was told to change providers which I have done and it hasn’t made a difference. And I have also got a second charger which has made no difference.
Long story short. TERRIBLE WATCH. Terrible help/customer service. Don’t waste your money. We should have been given a replacement from the beginning. Go with another brand.
Bought this device for my childs birthday. The first device didnt turn on. Returned it to manufacturer for repairs and when it arrived for the second time, the camera and video calls didnt work. They replaced it. 3 weeks later, the replacement watch stopped working. For $300 this is an atrocious product with poor customer service to boot. Go with a different brand. Very disappointing. Disappointing purchase. I bought two. Out of the box they looked and felt great, the kids were very excited. The tracking is not live, it works more like find my phone, and is not instant, sometimes it did not locate the watch but the nearest… Read more
transmission tower. One watch we could not set up to receive calls from a known number, so my son was unable to speak to his best friend. The second watch died within three months due to water exposure; the watches are not water-resistant let alone water proof. It seemed that the kids could call any number they put into the phone. The charging is weird, the connection is easy to knock out. Five months on, neither of my children uses their watch, so it is a big waste of money. There were a lot of bells and whistles on the app, but ultimately, it was clunky and did not do the basic things I thought it would do.
Follow-up · My kids still don’t use their watches. And as we only got a semester worth of use out of them I’m not in a position to buy new watches, I would probably look to buy an Apple Watch or something that is more robust. The features did not work as I imagined. The tracking was not in real time, there was a delay.

A KidsOClock watch has been the perfect first step for our son becoming more independent. His confidence has grown and we have peace of mind knowing we can easily keep in touch. All the benefits of a phone without the distractions. Show details

We love our Kidsoclock! watch so much. They are easy to use and the features are exactly what we need to keep track of son when he is out riding with friends. My son finds it so easy to answer and make calls we he needs and we recommend this watch over the other brands to all our family and friends. Show details
We bought 2 GL20 for our primary aged boys. We love there are multiple options to communicate either using wifi (Chat and Video call) or mobile reception (Phone call and SMS). So no matter what we are able to get in contact. Lots of emojis which the kids love and I can rest easier knowing that they’re safe while walking to and from school, as the… Read more
location feature is accurate. I love that there is “non use” times so they can only use the watch as a watch but they can still be tracked for safety. Only con would be the battery life, definitely needs to be charged every evening so thats a problem if you child needs this for bed time telling. We’ve had a few problems with connectivity due to service in our area and the customer support is so kind and helpful. Highly recommend

DO NOT BUY! THESE ARE NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!!! Great watch when it works, but didn't last 6 months. Like many others here they have claimed water damage and refused to honor their warranty, but the watch was never exposed to water beyond handwashing or a little rain. IF IT CAN'T COPE WITH THIS IT IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!! Went with an Australian… Read more
company, but so dissappointing. Will be pursuing this further with ACCC. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!! Also, if you are outside of a metro area don't bother. Their coverage on regional networks is terrible!!!!
Don’t waste your money. Your child will wash their hands wear their watch, it will stop working and then KidsOClock will claim their is water damage. Not sure how kids are meant to wash their hands as it’s apparently “water resistant” which it’s not. Show details
I have had 3 watches from this company. GL20 which was pretty poor but a first entry model so had potential. The software and app is pretty poor and the tracking although works, isn't what you think it is and it's only accurate to 500m and doesn't refresh instantly. Even manual refresh doesn't always work and it's not that accurate despite its… Read more
claims of accuracy in the specs. I got 2 x GL50 thinking this would improve and got one for each child. GPS wise it's bad. Not really useful at all.
Phone wise it calls ok though as it's always on a speaker phone type call, the noise suppression is terrible and any background noise makes the call virtually impossible. Video chat can only be done through the app which is flakey and the watch can't handle a call more than about 5 mins as it over heats which sounds like a safety issue. Luckily nothing injury wise has occurred. SMS for a watch is OK and the call blocking and only allowing certain numbers to call works OK. The school mode works OK, but alarm settings need more flexibility as trying to use it for Reminders etc is clunky. The battery life is pretty poor, the GL50 can get you a day and a half if the watch is never touched, but the kids use the features a few times in the day, you can bet it's dead by the evening.
The charging cable is a magnetic connection that holds the cable to contact pins on the watch. Having strong magnets near a small phone device is a bad idea as it will impact operation to which I am convinced the poor signal quality this often gets it down to that. The cable is too short, it doesn't always line up and a small nudge can disconnect it stopping charging. This happens overnight without realising it sometimes the you have a dead watch in the morning. There's alerts on the app to tell you the battery is getting low, but it's so heavily delayed it tells you about 4 hours too late. Charging time takes too long. Flat to fill charge needs 6 hours or so. Quick charging to give you a boost isn't an option on this watch so if it's low in the morning, it's pretty much pointless trying to use it in the day as the battery will die before lunchtime.
Then there is the pathetic customer service. They do not understand Australian consumer law and I have evidence they actively breach consumer rights based on their policies. If your watch fails at any point outside the 12 month warranty, they will force a repair which means sending them the watch at your cost and if they can't repair it, they will sell you another one at a slight discount of $160. This is a breach of ACL consumer guarantees and despite me pointing this out amicably, and helping educate them on this topic, they flat out refuse to acknowledge it and will not comply. This disregard of our ACL and consumer rights is unacceptable and it doesn't matter anymore about the product, this alone means this is not a business you want to invest in and purchase products from. It's a complete betrayal of what makes Australia strong and safe for consumers to purchase products with confidence and Kids O'clock outright refusing to adhere means they do not respect this country and the way we do things.
So my advice is don't be swayed by the marketing, the only reason I got more of the watches was in hope the higher model was better, buts its not really. There are others out there and I would rather pick a good company before the product, so take this as a warning if you want to purchase from this company, they will not support you if this expensive device fails after 12 months, you are on your own.

Customer service is non existant, except for chat bot. No phone number to call. Waiting 4 days for sim activation. Promised on the 4th day by chat that the issue would be resolved same day. Still not resolved. The watch works with a sim from my phone. I can't get any more help. Show details
Wouldn’t recommend, purchased one as advertised waterproof. They are not lasted 3 months then failed wouldn’t cover under warranty as they then said they’re not waterproof, even though advertised as. Wouldn’t recommend. At first they worked well (I purchased. 2) then not even 9months later SIM card couldn’t be read and it kept turning off constantly. Emailed and tried all the troubleshooting with no luck, sent off for repairs and it was returned with the same issues. Unfortunately by the time I contacted them the second time (which was within days of receiving it back) it was out of warranty so they wouldn’t replace (despite the problem occurring within the warranty period). Was offered a $169 replacement which I declined. Looking at reviews on Amazon - this is a common problem. The other watch was returned and I was told water damage despite never being used in water- the only thing I can think of is when the they washed their hands something to be mindful of.
Watches are ok but they have terrible customer service. They only appear to offer online support. No phone number on their website (which is a huge red flag for me and I'm annoyed I didnt notice this sooner as I would not have purchased the product had I known). Live chat support refused to give me a clear answer as to what their phone number is.… Read more
It's incredibly frustrating to try and work through technical issues with the watch this way. Do better!!
***UPDATE*** It went from bad to worse. I honestly have got nothing good to say about this company. They promised me a phone call multiple times, never called. Weeks and weeks of back and forth emails where no one listens. One chatbot vogon conversation after another. Completely inept staff and the watches themselves aren't that great and frequency glitch, have unreliable location tracking and calls drop out or fail to connect. Sms messaging repeats over and over. Do yourself a favour and avoid like the plague. I wish I had

The ability to see sms recieved has dropped off the app and there appears to be no fix. This is one of the key tracking features I purchased the watch for so to not be able to see sms received anymore is frustrating. They stopped bring shown after 26th March this year. The kids oclock service desk appear unable to assist. Until this is rectified I wouldnt recommend this watch given thjs key safety feature is missing.

We have been extremely disappointed in the quality of this watch. We have had multiple issues since owning it for jusf over 1 year. this is not good enough. I would not recommend this watch to other buyers. I would like to add the communicating with the business seems as though like you’re talking to a computer and not a real person.
My son, now 10 has had versions of this watch for 5yrs and I have been saying how great it is. I recently purchased a watch from KidsOClock, and I’m really happy with it. The quality is great, the design is perfect for kids, and my child loves wearing it. The ordering process was smooth and delivery was quick. Highly recommend for parents looking for a reliable kids’ watch!
Have purchased 2 of these watches now for our sons. We went with the basic functionality (so no games for distraction). Great features like ability to disable during school hours and no… Read more
monthly app fee, but we learnt the hard way that water resistant doesn’t mean you can get it wet! The interface on the watch itself can be a little laggy at times, and the camera pixels are not the best on the version we purchased last year in 2024 (this may have been upgraded since), but all in all it’s a great first kid smart watch packed with lots of features. The battery doesn't last a super long time (so the kids have to charge it up every day), but I guess that is the same as any other phone battery. Reasonably priced and lots of accessories available compared to other brands. Have recommended to family and friends for their kids too.
I bought this watch for my 9 year old son. It has worked perfectly, the app is easy to use and he loves being able to stay in contact with the family members set on the watch. Have recommended to friends as a great way to be able to stay in contact in a safe way. Show details
I bought the KidsOClock GL20 for my daughter, and overall it’s a great product. The watch looks stylish and feels comfortable for kids to wear all day. The GPS tracking works well most of the time, and the battery life is decent for daily use. I also like that it helps me stay connected with my child when she’s out. The only downside is that the charging takes a bit long. Still, I’m quite satisfied and would recommend it to other parents. Show reply
I just purchased the GL30. It’s a great watch however the GPS is absolutely horrible Never tracks correctly. Constantly says she is home when she’s clearly not.
