Kogan 24" KALED24DVDZD

Never thought we'd use a TV in a caravan but this is an ideal TV DVD combo for the purpose – I have only just taken delivery of our Kogan KALED24DVDZD TV-DVD combo. ensure it goes together straightly. Despite care in assembling, this necessitated releasing the screws, straightening and re-tightening.

Though I'll soon be fitting it to a 100 mm VESA wall bracket.

Re questions on this review site:

- How satisfied are you with the picture quality?

So far so good, having only viewed DTV channels, and yet to try DVD. Though the picture quality isn't as clear as I would have expected for Full HD (1920 x 1080), particularly on such a small screen, which should improve the clarity by comparison to a larger screen of same resolution. Will need to connect a blue-ray player to better check this.

- How satisfied are you with the unit's built-in speakers?

Not bad in testing, but yet to use in the van. Seems to have more than adequate volume for the purpose.

- Does the unit have enough ports? (eg. HDMI ports).

It has a good variety of ports, but would have liked RCA out for audio. It only has a 3.5 mm headphone socket, and coaxial out, the latter not very appropriate for a 12V TV!

- How satisfied are you with its operating system?

This seems good. Channel program list has basic info, but works better and more practicable than a lot of other TVs I've used. The remote control seems very user friendly.

Summary:

I consider this a very good value for money unit.
