Spend the extra $25 and get the Google TV – Unit was easy enough to set up uses the standard Android TV setup wizard, after entering your Google password and connecting to your Google account it brings you to a standard lackluster home screen. First thing I noticed was that you cannot program the remote to turn the TV on or adjust the volume controls on the TV unlike the Google TV. This,… Read more
annoyingly, means that even though the unit via HDMI cec will turn the television off it will not turn the TV on again. The remote also lags out every minute or so and refuses to do anything for 10 to 20 seconds. Extremely frustrating when you are trying to navigate menus.
Going to return this for a refund as it is cheap trash. For $99 for the Google TV you get a far better, more refined home screen with the latest Google software and a remote that can connect to virtually any TV and control power and volume.
Android Smart TV in a mini size – Pros: Small, compact, turn any hdmi TV into a Smart TV. Bluetooth remote is awesome, means you can hide the box out of sight. You can use bluetooth headphones for night watching and google voice control too. Android TV has most of the common apps and is always updating. Built in chromecast too. Cons: Biggest is some issues Im having with Disney +… Read more
app. Works fine on other devices and an older Xaiomi Android TV box I have. Like many boxes Amazon Prime will have to be side-loaded which is for the tech savvy only. I mainly got it to watch Disney+ as it's not available on my 5 year old smart TV. You can get all the main streaming channels like Netflix, Stan, Binge, free to air TV apps, except Amazon Prime and Nine Now for some reason. I… Read more
think this should be stated on the box/product description so customers can make an informed decision.
