Have you tried changing the batteries in the magic remote? If not, here is a link to a you tube video which shows how to replace the batteries. external link . Also here is the link to the owners manual, user guide and quick set up. external link If you look on page 32 of the owner's manual it has some instructions on how to replace the batteries in the remote also. The screen permanently displays thin black horizontal lines that reduces the picture quality. What is the problem and possible remedy? I have been using the TV since 2013.
I recall my oldest son pairing his Samsung phone with the tele because he wanted to show us some holiday snaps so yes it's possible to connect wirelessly - with some models of mobile phones at least. From memory, my son had to get his phone to search for the TV, because he couldn't get the TV to find his phone. Re: the black horizontal lines, I hope you resolve the issue. Our same model tele developed permanent white lines (not black) The thin white lines became white bands that grew wider and wider over the months and eventually the picture was just whited out and the tele just had sound. The TV was just out of warranty and we hadn't used it a lot, so I haven't bought LG anything since.

Hi Ranjit, I've never owned an iphone 7, but I researched your question out of curiosity. I think you'll need a Lightning to HDMI adapter. Perhaps ask Apple support about screen mirroring or read this article external link

If you just view website or watch movie on the TV, wireless keyboard & mouse is much cheaper than magic remote.
Can this tv record to hard drive ?
Hi George Short answer - in theory you can record TV. In practice so far - no! LONG answer We have owned this TV for 6 months but still haven't ever successfully recorded tv shows to an external hard drive despite multiple attempts.
From what we can gather, the manual says
(Step 1) Buy a new external HDD - if you use one that already has data on it from - e.g your backup files from your computer - it wipes all that backup data off it. It recommends the new external HDD you buy is between 40Gb and 2T.
(Step 2) Plug the USB HDD into the HDDIN USB port.
(Step 3) Go to my apps, find DVR USB - then click on device initializing and after doing this the HDD external drive should work and you should be able to record tele shows.
Okay - so we've followed all the above steps and searched the internet for troubleshooting tips but still never managed to record anything off our new tele -
Overall impression of the tele after six months - it's supposed to be whizz bang and loaded with connectivity, sharing & futuristic features - but where the rubber meets the road most of these features don't work - and there's nowhere near enough troubleshooting advise on the LG website to get these features to work.
