No Problems for 7 years – I can't understand the low rating given to this lock. I replaced my 001 Deadlatch with the 001 Touch version over 7 years ago and have had zero problems with it. The only reason I have not given a 5 star rating is because of two things. 1. There are terminals located on the bottom of the outdoor section where you can power up the unit with a… Read more

standard 9V battery if the internal batteries go flat. These terminals have rusted to the point where I doubt a successful connection could be made. 2. The chrome plating on the outdoor part of the lock housing is starting to show signs of corrosion and I suspect that it will start looking it's age soon.

The convenience of the 001 Touch is what sold me on it and the fact that it was so easy to retrofit to the original 001.

My family members all have their own code for access so if any one of them cheeses me off I can delete their code...........just kidding.

Expensive Failed Product – Worked great for 3 weeks then key will not turn. Locked out of my own house. Had to break in. Numerous times, including at night. That's not "security". Customer phone help was good, probably due to lots of practice. Problem not resolved after multiple attempts. Wasted time, money, frustration, had to leave house with door open. Made in Australia… Read more

means nothing apart from the high price. Should be a product recall. An environmental waste of resources. Right at the beginning I could see design flaws. Example the pathetic amount of grab that the retaining "hooks" have. When bashing the door to get in, out of pure frustration and fury (one time too many product failures), the back of the stupid mechanism came loose, despite being fully tightened and fixed in place. House insurance should not cover doors fitted with these locks. The cheap Lane lock had been faultless for 20 plus years. Replaced due to bent key and dodgy housemate (long gone but so was spare key). This 001 deadlatch is a disgrace to Aussie manufacturing. Door open key works fine. Soon as door shut you are locked out of your own house. I do wonder if Lockwood has one on their front door? I doubt it. Avoid all Lockwood products I now tell myself. It's not worth the grief. Where do they even find these product designers? Probably don't ask. I want a refund for the 2 locks I was dumb enough to buy. The door is now loose and of course I can't say how I broke in to my own house but until I do the whole job again, I am worried to now leave home. Where is the industry watchdog?

5 star only if you know how to operate – I have been using it for 6 years and works great. I changed batteries twice till now when it indicated low battery. It takes good 3 hours for me to remember all functions and troubleshooting. It requires technical skills a little and sensitive operation while setting up. Use locksmith to set up if unsure. The low review is understandable because… Read more

it is expensive and hard to set up but for your security, it has to be. I don't need to carry and don't need to cut copies anymore. It saves time looking for keys before go out.

Units kept failing – Loved the idea and it appears to be one of a kind. I live in an apartment and require a deadlatch (not deadlock) , my first unit failed one night so I get to get a locksmith at midnight to break in as the unit failed. The second unit was installed and only lasted a few months due to apparent pressure from lock. The perfect item for my airbnb but… Read more

product is unreliable so I went back to a normal key. Such a shame.

However, the technical support and service was outstanding- shame about the quality of product.

Great lock – Ive had the digital lock for 3 years now. recently had an issue with the face pad getting scratched (our fault) and wrote to lockwood to get a replacement part. Without hesitation, they sent an entire replacement unit. Cannot fault their customer service. the product has been working without issues for over 3 years and is excellent. No keys reqd, battery change annually (which is easy).

Lockwood 001 touch problems – Fitted a number of these with the last two failing within 5 months. Locks installed on holiday homes that haven’t seen a lot of use due to being out of season. Problem with lock is it will not retract latch making it impossible to open. Hardware worked fine initially. Be warned

Beware of this product!!! – We brought a Lockwood 001Touch Lock from Bunnings Warehouse recently (receipt attached). The lock was installed by a tradesman on the 6th of April, 2019. We have an Airbnb property in Tasmania and live in Sydney. We brought the lock in good faith thinking it would help our guests to check into the house. After the lock was installed we checked it… Read more

numerous times to make sure it was working. At first it worked well then after touching it, it took time to light up and then only flashing numbers appeared momentarily. Making it impossible to enter the pin and then press the unlock button. Lockwood did nothing to help us. They do not refund. They then try to charge you more money to get a locksmith on site. Even though I already had a report from a locksmith. Buyer beware!!!

Keyless entry made easy – We have used this neat stylish lock on the front door of our new home, no more worrying about keys or being accidentally locked out. Comes with swipe cards and keys however we have opted to just use codes for our family who can each use their own with up to 20 able to be programmed. Also, doesn’t require any wiring as it uses AA batteries.

Good but expensive deadlatch replacing a manual keyed lock – Relatively painless replacement for a conventional keyed 001 dead latch - good templates supplied by Lockwood and only minimal carpentry / adjustments needed to door/jamb.. The electronics are basically in a large cover sitting around the back of the lock, with a touch screen key pad on the front. Powered by 4 x AA batteries supplied which last… Read more

for months, maybe a year.

There is a keyed manual lock on the inside to deadlock the unit from the inside - there is no key over ride on the outside.

Essential first step is getting the lock to recognise your chosen master PIN number - and that number needs to be at least 6 digits (not 4 as per the instructions) with that done you have a lot of flexibility about allocating different people levels of access - can be time limited and access ended by deleting a PIN in advanced mode.

Works in 2 modes - an easy and simple single pin access or by flipping an internal switch an advanced mode that permits lots of different features. The advanced mode takes a little bit of repetitive number punching getting the first codes in, but after that its straightforward.

Comes with 2 programmable key cards useable from the outside, and 2 keys for the internal manual lock.

Lockwood have an excellent human and helpful phone assistance line - call on your mobile on speaker and their help person can hear the beeps the unit is making - that sorted my relatively minor issue (master pin has to be at least 6 digits, not 4 as the paper and online user guide suggests).

Bad news is cost ($330 from Bunnings, maybe a bit less online). Not controllable by home automation systems such as z-Wave or Zigbee.
