Faulty thermal fuse – The 2017 Lumina branded banquet frying pan suffers from a faulty thermal fuse. Approx 15 uses before dying. For anyone reading this in the future, the fuse is located inside the thermostat (the part with the dial). Ensure the thermostat is removed from the power point. Remove the rear screws from the thermostat, take the housing apart. Where the… Read more
wires from the 240v plug come in, trace the positive wire (typically brown). You'll notice it splits, one very thin wire goes to the light, the other goes under some woven heat shield. Feel for the lump under the middle of the heat shield. This is the thermal fuse. If you can handle a soldering iron, Jaycar sell a thermal fuse rated at 133 degrees that should do the trick. Note: I'm not sure of the material properties of everything in the thermostat, so hopefully 133 degrees isn't enough to set anything alight. The original fuse will have the rating written on it - in my case it was 110 degrees. The Jaycar fuse was $3.50 at the time of writing.
disappointing – I bought this banquet frypan about 6 weeks ago and the thermostat also failed after about 6 uses.It was great up till then, better look than other brands and bigger. However previously I have been able to look up my bank statement and print it out and they will then give money back. Show details
Very disappointed – Wish I had read these reviews before I spent my $50.l was excited to find a frypan with an "M" element.Gives great heat distribution. That's where it all ends.Same problem as everyone else.Thermostat shat itself after 6th use and Aldi don't want to know you unless you have a receipt.Even though it's their brand and obviously still in new condition."DISGRACEFUL" Show details
Another lemon – I purchased from aldi only lasted 6 months can't find my receipt so I can't get fixed or replacement won't turn on or heat up the dial on the fry pan is loose so I'm guessing the cord themerstat is broken so more money down the drain on a aldi appliance
Terrible – Tried it for the second time, didn't hold the heat. Had to turn it up full to get the things cooked.
Terrible – Perhaps I got a lemon, and being in the country I was not prepared to travel the 1 and half hours to get it replaced. Friend also had same problem with control but didn't care because he only used it for food that required high setting. I replaced it with a Sunbeam Skillet SK4200P and use the glass lid that came with the Lumina on my Sunbeam when… Read more
I want to see what's cooking. Its size and the price is what attracted me to this model. The glass lid is great too. Thermostatic control turned the appliance off but not on again, if you tried to set it on simmer. The only way I could get it to work was to leave it on higher setting. The non stick surface started to blister after 6 months.

Agree. Our thermostat control has never worked. It turns the pan on, but it will not regulate the setting.
