Nair Sensitive Strip Free Wax

I just tried to use this product. Not happy with it at all. It was difficult to remove and came off in small pieces. Very harsh on my skin despite being labeled ‘sensitive formula.’ Residue has set in a solid mass on the spatula, I can’t get it off. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Have also emailed the company. Terrible product- avoid the mess and don’t buy – It seems they have changed the formula and they’ve failed. The product now doesn’t harden and therefore doesn’t rip off cleanly. It’s now the consistency of chewing gum and is extremely difficult to get off. As it doesn’t harden and when you try to pull it off parts of it stay on the applied area and on your fingers. An absolute mess. I have used… Read more
this and similar products since I was 16 years old and have never come across this. Unless they go back to the original formula I won’t be buying this again. I’ve bought 2 tubs which I can’t use. Money down the drain. Don’t buy this product.
Absolutely terrible – You used twice as much to do the same job from the original formula. It takes twice as long and doesn’t do the job properly. you can’t get the reminents off your body. I will never buy again Show details

Worst product i ever bought – Trash trash trash Waste of money Didn't even do anything A hole load of expensive nonsense Do not buy Nair is so crap Show details
New Formula is awful – This product used to be excellent. However the new formula is like trying to wax with runny chewing gum. It is a horrible experience. Unless you want to spend ages picking off little bits of wax do not buy this product. Also it is now almost twice as expensive. Show details
Absolutely terrible DO NOT BUY – I bought this today to wax my legs and I had to reheat it much longer than the recommended time. And when I try to rip it off, it comes off in tiny pieces instead of the whole strip. Absolute waste of money. Show details

This used to be the "golden ticket" sadly not anymore – Hello I have used this wax for so many years and I have sworn by it each and everytime ,the texture was amazing the time to prepare was nice and fast ,the cool down pre wax was perfect and the texture upon applying to skin was nice smooth and peeled off in 1 complete piece along with the hair and roots of the hairs . This new formula is a… Read more
catastrophic, it's too sticky doesn't seem to harden the way it used to and it doesn't dry enough to peel off ,it leaves far too much sticky residue and clag on the skin ,it now causes irritation and skin burn due to not removing all the hairs ..
I really hope the old formula comes back considering now i have a tub i will not use due to the new formula ,otherwise I may have to look elsewhere for a new strip free wax . I just can not use this new formula it doesn't feel nice ,it doesn't peel right, let alone grip and remove all complete hair and root and it definitely does not make the skin feel comfortable. Sorry guys sometimes good things don't need tweaking . Thank you
Underrated, seems to have a bad reputation! – I went into this experience expecting the worst based on all the reviews I've read. I heated the wax for the stated 1 minute 45 for a full pot. Waited a few minutes then heated for another minute and left to stand! I was tempted to heat again as the wax still seemed very thick, not like the hard wax I was used to but decided against it as all the… Read more
reviews state they heated it for a long time then had issues with cracking. I put the wax on an easy spot first to test it. I put it on nice and thick and then ripped it off, expecting it to crack and not remove any hair! To my surprise it pulled off easily, in tact and removed all the hair. I had the bikini area done in less than half the time it normally takes me using Nads bikini wax and had no issues. It is very stringy, but effective. I think half the issue people are having is they are over heating it because it seems too thick, then it cracks. Don't be tempted to over heat and lay it on thick! I pulled it off pretty much straight away too! I'm happy with it.
Works and far less painful than strips – From going to the wax salon where they used strips to doing this at home: waxing to me is always satisfying but painful. I used the Veet wax strips to do my legs and bikini line and it was terribly painful, as well as I’d have lots of wax residue everywhere. I looked into using hard wax instead and tried this one out. One thing is for sure, I’ll… Read more
never use wax strips again.
The good: - far less painful, especially if you use a bit of baby powder to dry the skin. The hairs are pulled out and it feels more of slight rubber band than as if you fell of your bike cross first ( which is what wax strips feel like on the bikini area..) - cleaner: there’s less of a wax residue on the skin: you rip off the wax and there’s basically none left sticking on the skin. - less irritation: when I used the wax strips, I experienced red bumps for 3 days, because wax strips are more aggressive. With this stuff, I experienced a bit of red skin (as if you’ve scratched an itch), but the skin was smooth and pain free. Amazing.
The bad: - it takes longer, because you need to heat up the wax (and make sure you heat it right - not too hot, not too cold). - it’s messy: make sure to have extra wooden spatulas at home because it will get messy: the wax is extremely sticky. But despite this, if you’re patient enough, I highly recommend this product over any wax strips. - the smell of the wax made me slightly nauseous. Kind of like that new car scent that has a very cheap airwick smell inside. But that’s just me.
What worked for me: - heat up the wax for 1 minute in the microwave, check if it’s heating up right (not cooking) - heat it for another minute, then leave it to cool in the microwave for a minute or 2-3 - stir the wax well: top to bottom and all sides. If it looks like a thick syrup, it’s about right. - feel the wax with you fingers: yes, that’s messy but worth it. You don’t want to put wax that’s too hot on your skin. If feels warm but doable, then you’re good to go. - add a bit of baby powder on the skin. This will help the wax stick better to the hairs as well as not stick to the skin too much (that will save you pain!) - it’s better to spread the wax a bit too thick than too thin, because the thinner the wax, the harder it will be to rip it off. A thick layer just needs a bit more time to cool down, that’s all. It will also be cleaner, as you’ll be able to rip off the wax in one piece. - after about 10 seconds you’ll already notice you can touch the wax without it sticking to your fingers. Time for the scary part: quickly rip it off.
It is messy, but if you’re prepared, this will save you lots of shaving and painful waxes in the long run.

Worked well for me – I've been DIY waxing for years, I've used all sorts over the years, this was my first time with this particular wax used on my face and bikini, I was happy with the result. Will definitely buy again, cheapest I found was Chemist Warehouse for the 100gm box. So surprised to read bad reviews, always use on clean dry skin and I find summer harder to get a good result because of sweat making the skin damp. Other times of the year no problems. Show details
This is perfect, absolutely can’t live without it – This is my favourite wax for facial hair. No need to visit the salon all the time. Only need to clean up the skin a bit after (with the wipes provided). Have been using this for 6 years and will keep using it. Show details
Very simple for first time using hot wax – First time ever trying a hot/microwave wax. I heated mine for double the instructed time & has no issues. I reheated for a minute & that was after a good 40 minutes after the original heating once it stopped being as effective. Follow the instructions & heat for longer then written, really simple to use. Painful, but considering I’m on my period… Read more
it wasn’t putting me into much pain besides really tender exposed areas. Quite quick to use. Did take Panadol before hand.
A lot of one star reviews.. wasn’t hard to figure out what to do to modify it. Also you must exfoliate regularly, I usually don’t but I will be at about the 10 day mark twice a week when it comes to waxing.
I have got some redness & slight bruising in one or two spots, but I did go over some more then once & I was pretty rough (eg sometimes pulled the wax off my skin in the wrong direction) & slightly tender but nothing unbearable.
It got ALOT of hairs out, not all, but I’m new & inexperienced with using hot wax, plus I’m lazy! I don’t think I let it adhere long enough some of the times, again inexperience.
Quite messy, but I wasn’t twirling it before using, which helps! Less wastage falls to the ground as well when I twirl. I will definitely finish the tub off, easily get 2 bikini waxes plus probably armpits a few times. With gained experience & if results are decent I’ll buy regularly.

Awful product – This is the worst wax product i have ever used. It sticks, doesnt set properly and i end up having to use olive oil to rescue myself out of it. I dont know if the recipe has changed but ive been caught out now 3 times forgetting which one i should avoid..buy it and have the same result. Its gone in the bin. I normally dont write reviews but feel that this is actually quite a distressing situation being stuck trying to get this off. Show details
Nair wax review – Have just used the new formula….terrible. Does not harden and remains like chewing gum on the area. Very difficult to remove. 2nd application no better. Sticks to your fingers and nails adding to the sticky residue when trying to lift the applied wax Very disappointing- have been using the old product with no issues for years. Won’t be buying again. Useless product – Whoever was in charge of creating this pathetic useless new formula should not have a job. How can u mess this up so bad?? This new product is so bad. Each time I use it I break out and am left with red patches for weeks. There was nothing wrong with the old one. Go back to the old formula! Show details

Awful – Used the previous product for years and always been happy, the new formula is awful is messy to use, doesn't set firm enough to pull off or remove hair, stays sticky like chewing gum, impossible to remove from skin. Don't waste your money or time on this, bring back the old formula!!! Show details
In the bin – Goes on unevenly, dries unevenly, tears when coming off, the residue sticks like melted chewing gum. Horrible and time consuming to clean up. Ineffective. I binned the lot after removing remaining hair with tweezers. Show details
Leaves so much residue behind – This "new formula" sucks! The old one was better. This product doesn't go on evenly and whilst it still does remove SOME hair, it doesn't remove all of it and it leaves so much wax behind. It's so messy and it takes me ages to remove the residue from my skin. I think you need to go back to the old formula.
Did not rip off - left very hard to remove sticky mess - terrible product – A former happy user of Nair self waxing products for many years - this new blend is very hard to manage. Too runny and so hard to apply and drips everywhere. Thankfully I only managed to apply to small area on thighs, because I then had to spend over an hour trying remove it when it wouldn't harden sufficiently to "rip" away the hairs. Added the… Read more
2nd layer of wax as per instructions to help remove "residual" only to just have more gooey mess to try to remove. Insult to injury, it did not set hard enough to remove the unwanted hairs! Whatever you do, do not attempt to use this in a hurry! Never again.
This is not wax and in the trash – I bought this wax not realising it had changed formula . Doesn’t remove hair and good luck removing it from anything. It needs a warning label. Show details
New formula is terrible – Cons, doesn’t come off Have to layer it as it goes on to thin Look like I have hickies under my arm pits as you have to pick at it to grab. Pro, none Old formula was great!!!! Show details

Dangerous, doesn't work, needs to be removed from the market – Im glad to see I'm not the only one who had a terrible experience with this new formula. I have been using the original formula for nearly 10 years. Absolutely traumatic experience with this new stuff. It doesn't set at all, turns into chewing gum that you can only remove by pulling or cutting off. I have bruising and underskin bleeding from… Read more
trying to yank this stuff off my bikini line. The wipes don't work to even remove the tiniest bit of residue which was just stuck all over my hair and skin. They warn about the hot wax being dangerous - but this chewing gum formula is just as dangerous leaving your skin damaged and exposed to infection.
Worst wax I've used in 28 years – I ended up covered in wax that wouldn't come off, like gum. Rubbed raw from scratching it off, oil towlettes didn't work at all. Hair not removed and nails destroyed. Not to mention mess all over the bathroom. Shameful it's on the market! Show details
Do not buy this product – Purchased the new formula as I never had an issue with the old nair strippless wax and its horrible doesn't set properly, stays sticky and doesn't come off easily in one pull.. gets stuck to the skin and left me bruised and very sore once I managed to get all the little bits if wax left behind. Contacted the company and they told me they were not… Read more
bringing back the old formula and sorry bout that! Pretty much. I will never buy nair products again. Very dissapointed in this new formula
It’s awful I’m so disappointed – I have use Nair strip free wax for years. I recently bought a pot on the “new formula” Cherry Blossom Extract with Rice Bran Oil. It’s awful, not to mention dangerous. It doesn’t harden properly and it doesn’t remove properly leaving a sticky mess that’s difficult to remove. There was nothing wrong with the original formula! Why change it? Show details
Useless – I have been using this product for 20+ years and it was amazing. The new formula is useless, I actually purchased a second tub as I thought I had a bad batch. Bring back the old formula. Show details
STICKY MESS – I have used this wax for many many years. Loved it. New formula has not been tested on anything with hair!!! It is a gooey mess and will not harden. Have fun spending hours trying to remove it! Show details
New formula is horrible – I’ve been using the Nair Sensitive Strip free wax for over 20 years, was amazing! The new formula is horrible, it’s thin, doesn’t grip the hairs…. Would be lucky to pull out 2 hairs out of 10… even applying again is hopeless! Change it back to old formula please!!!!!!!! Show details
Dissatisfied with new formula:( – I agree with all comments. The new formula is terrible and does not work as effective as the previous purple one. I had been using the original for over 20 years saving me from visiting a salon. I’m so disappointed :( Show details
