Nature's Way Kids Smart Omega 3 Fish Oil

Why the sugar – Told by paediatrician give child fish oil for ADHD, normal fish oil tablets to large to swallow, also told to limit sugars. Sugar is very bad for teeth and weight gain
My two kids Love them – My 2.5 & 5 yo love them. They ask everyday! but the price is high. I hope it is more affordable for me to buy supplies for more years to come. Show details
Kids love the flavour – All four of my kids love these. My youngest in particular never fails to ask me each day if he can have his fish oil. Only minor complaint I suppose would be that the three flavours don't always seem that evenly apportioned. Blackcurrant is the favourite with my kids, and I recall one container having a relative scarcity of these.
Foul Fishy Taste and Smell! – My kids popped these into their mouths and within seconds of the capsules bursting in their mouths, they were each spitting them in the bin and looking for their water bottles. I thought they were completely overreacting because the label says the capsules are individually flavored so I tried one. Utterly, unexplainably revolting. Horrendous. And… Read more
the contents is so thick and disgustingly fishy. I cannot explain how foul they are. My kids do far better with regular capsules which can be swallowed whole or the gummi variety omega 3. I cannot imagine any child enjoying or even tolerating the liquid in these capsules.
More harm than good – Contains preservatives and salicylates. Natures Way Kids Smart Multi - The excipients here consist of glucose (sugar), sucrose (sugar), invert sugar (a mixture of glucose and fructose, sugar), sorbitol (sugar alcohol), and hydroxy benzoate (paraben - linked with cancer and may mimic hormonal effects) Just another drug company without any duty of care
Terrible – I saw this advertised last night, went in to buy them today (actually bought 2 bottles to last the 4 children a few weeks) but wish now that I hadn't any. For our family it has been a (big) waste of money. I like the idea of providing a multi with fish oil in one dose. However, 4 out of 4 of my children refuse to take them because of the taste.
Doesn't taste nice – My son always has a sour face after I squirt these into his mouth. The taste is not that nice, but we put up with it. At least he is getting some good source of Omega-3s as he doesn't eat much fish. He prefers the taste of Natures Way Kids Smart Vita-Gummies but these don't have as much DHAs in them compared to the capsules. High DHAs, EPAs and Omega 3s. The taste - not so nice.
My 5 year old daughter loves them – My five year old daughter really loves taking these capsules. She enjoys all three flavours and if I have forgotten to give her her capsules for the day, as she loves taking them so much, she reminds me! For a child that isn't that adventurous with her food, ie. non-spicy etc, basically quite plain food, I was concerned that she wouldn't like… Read more
the capsules at all. After I tasted one, I was also pleasantly surprised how palatable they really are. The capsule has a nice sugarey type kick when you chew it, no horrible taste at all. I am delighted that she has taken to taking the capsules with such enthusiasm!
I have just ordered a bulk bottle online. Pleasant tasting
Excellent – I had been squirtng fish oil into the cereal bowl - or trying to whenever I remembered then my husband saw a documentary on fish oil and kids so he thought he would try these. My son takes 2 a day, one morning and one at night and within a week we noticed a calmer child able to control his emotions much better. There were less 'melt downs'… Read more
and we put it down to the only thing we were doing differently, which was giving him the fish oil. Over a stressful busy period in the house, we stopped giving them regularly and he reverted back to frequent tantrum meltdowns when asked to do things out of his comfort zone or when challenged on behaviour. Once we realised this had occured, we again started giving him two a day and now he can again remain focussed and concentrate on what has to happen from day to day. We are really happy with this product as we can give him the fish oil in a way pallatable to a small child and we are all enjoying a more calm and less upset household. The effect of fish oil on my 6 YO.
Excellent – Overall I believe the Kids Smart is a great product, we aren't generally a family of fish eaters, so I am encouraged by such a great product and trusted brand to know that they are helping me to provide the nutrients that my chldren need. I have definately noticed a difference in my child from her having these. Although it did take a few months… Read more
to seem to kick in to affect. They seem to just settle her a little bit more, she doesn't seem as frantic all the time. She does not really enjoy the taste very much, although in saying that, I just quickly squirt into her mouth then give her a drink of orange juice to wash away the taste, she thinks she is a big girl by taking them, so that encourages her to keep doing so.
Excellent – I dont that this there is anything that I could say bad about this product. My sons enjoy the taste and ask every morning for the product. I think that they are helping with his memory and his skin problems.Well done Nature's Way. My 4 year old cant get enough of these, he just loves them. He would eat them like lollies if I let him. He asks for… Read more
them every morning. I think that they are just the greatest thing. I think that all children should be having more fish oil. I think it helps my little boy. The bottle isn't big enough, I think that they should make a larger one.
Good – The kids seem to have settled done and not be as hyper with taking this. There teacher has noted in my boy an extended attention span which may be attributed to the fish oil. Either way we will continue to buy them and give them to our kids. My children have enjoyed taking these, as my husband and I have a multi vitamin, and the kids feel like they are all grown up by doing the same. Trying to remember to take them !
Excellent – My children are very happy to take these each day. While I can't definitely say that I can see a difference in their behaviour or concentration levels as a result, I know the benefits of taking fish oil and this is why they are a part of our daily morning routine. The fish shaped capsules are appealing to children and they enjoy the taste. We tend… Read more
to always purchase the 125 capsule bottle, though this is quite costly if it is not on sale. Appealing taste and shape, easy to eat, great packaging. Can be quite costly if they are not purchased when they are on sale.

Excellent – Natures way is a very trusted family brand. I highly recommend ANY kind of fish oil to the more wild children. The fact that they love them and the vitamins are so good for them make me happy to pay the price for the best for my girls My girls love them. Its almost a treat for them. The fish oil in it is calming and almost a behaviour suppressant… Read more
for them and their concerntration levels when they are on recommended daily dose are amazing they are a bit expensive and when you have 2 children having 1 and 2 each a day it gets expensive
Excellent – make smaller size packs or and offer of 2 for 1 for larger families or families with older child ren has a great packaging a bad after after taste Show reply
Excellent – overall i would say money well spent on this item they really tell the truth eith what they say on the packet so anuone out there looking for a product that does help this is it i am not saying it works on every child but really if you dont try it you will never know if it works my kids loved them i would give them too them and they would ask for… Read more
more everytime so they must taste good also what you read on the packet is the truth they helped my kids to focus on stuff to sit and to think about the things that we were doing so yeah try them and you will see how great they really are . well all i have to say is trying to remember to give them to the kids everyday was the dislike
OK – Great seemed to quite her down but sometimes hard to remember to give them to her take but overall good the only one my daughter will take She doesnt like fish took me a while to make her believe it doesnt taste like fish
Excellent – My boys love these. My 6 year old pierces the capsule with his teeth and sucks the liquid out. My 2 year old swallows it whole. We really notice a change in the boys' attitude and behaviour when we remember to give it to them. We see the same results from these as we did when we bought the more expensive brands. Easy to get kids to take, no mess solution, well priced Trying to remember to give them to the kids
OK – As with most vitamins and supplements these are very expensive as they are marketed towards children. The good thing is that it may be money well spent as kids will take them I find. Sweet to the point of sickly! Not for an adult palate but littlies seem to see them as lollies. If you can't get your kids to eat lots of food naturally high in… Read more
omega threes and you can afford them, then I would give these a go as they are bound to like them. Kids love them. Good omega three content. Price. I think they are too expensive for what they are.
Excellent – Brilliant Product, will never take my son off it. This stuff works, it's the best. Immediate results. The transformation in your kids will shock you as much as releive you. It works, my son changed into a different person withn 4 days. He went from competely oppositional, unfocussed, disrupting classes, not listening etc, to the most attentive and… Read more
focussed child in his classes, full of self control and patience, he is so much calmer and actually sits still now and is also agreeable and helpful.
The flavour, my son loves the tastes, he thinks they are treats and asks for them all day long.
Higher levels of DHA compared to EPA, most other brands are higher in EPA, when I switched to a different brand once due to a sale price, he revorted back to the bad behaviour within 4 days. Once he was back onto Natures way, another 4 days we had our obedient, golden child back, pretty amazing to witness actually. No cons at all
OK – My eldest child loves these and has one every morning with breakfast. My youngest son can't stomach them at all and I have to agree with him! I tried one myself and almost vomited. I had to wash my teeth for 10 minutes to get the taste of fish guts out! Healthy. Smell like dead fish. Very expensive. Can be hard and messy for kids to open.
Terrible – A good idea but not enough of the therapeutic part of the fish oil. Studies on children's behavioural problems and fish oil that I have read recommend much higher levels - you would need to take quite a few capsules of this product each day to achieve similar levels to the studies. Probably better than nothing, but I would not buy this product… Read more
again. I now always use a Practitioner strength product. Cute shape. My children really like the flavour of this product. I found the cost reasonable when purchased at a discount pharmacy. I don't know what the colouring/ flavouring in this product consists of but it made both of my children hyper - I tried this several times over a month and the result was always the same. Very low levels of EPA and DHA (the important part of the fish oil that has the therapeutic actions) when compared to other products especially 2 Practitioner only products (from the Naturopath) that we have tried since.

Good – I wish our kids liked these as they would really benefit from them as they don't eat enough foods containing omega3. But they really couldn't stand the taste and even when I squeezed them out into food or drinks they refused to have them so for us they were a waste of money.I would definately recommend them to others though especially if they are… Read more
experiencing behaviour problems or learning difficulties. Love the concept of children getting their omega3. Good, well known and trusted brand.Available in most supermarkets and chemists. They are expensive and my kids didnt like the taste.
Excellent – All so they are high in DHA which every say's is the good , is the active part most others are the other way around EPA high and DHA very low and no one seems to say any thing about this Taste is good and No after taste like the others. High in DHA and lower in EPH which is good Expensive , price is high But watch out for when they are on sale
Good – Children will love the taste of this beneficial health supplement. Another good thing about this product is it is available at your local supermarket. The only down side is the cost. Great sweet/sour taste. High level of fish oil but dosen't taste fishy. Easiest fish oil to give to a child. Squeeze or chew gives children two alternate ways to… Read more
consume. Readily available at supermarkets, health food stores and pharmacies. Very Expensive for 50 capsules.
Excellent – Many complain about the cost and fair enough, but beware of substituting for a cheaper brand as often you need to pay for quality opposed to quantity. I have have learnt that with many vitamin products over the years. Hint, i bought a bag of small size cooking chocolates which are kept in the pantry and i have kept them as a reward to keep… Read more
encouraging her to take them. That way its just a small treat, but she can only have them after having them. Great shape for little ones. I think it is yuk but my 3 year old loves them- in fact one day she ate 15 in one sitting.(poisons line advised me there was no harm, they are now well out of reach). Little more trouble convincing the 8 year old but i now have him on tablets.
Overall great product. Smelly if they spill into hair etc..
Excellent – I have a 8yr and a 11yr and they both line up after doing their teeth in the morning to get their "fishy" tablets. They never forget as they love the taste and see them as getting a lolly/treat before school. You do need to give them at least 4-6 weeks to see the difference, but is worth it. Both my kids love them so that is always a bonus. The… Read more
price is pretty good overall compared to others on the market. Great shape and both LOVE the taste of them. Can't say I have any, they could always be cheaper - that would help.
Terrible – Bought these for the kids as I thought it would be good for them. They absolutely hated eating the capsule so now I just cut the end off and squirt it in their mouths. They say it tastes yuk (they are 4 & 6 and don't even have lollies much!). If I can find something cheaper I'll buy that instead next time. Fish oil is good for you. Expensive, my kids hate the taste of the liquid and texture of the capsule.
Excellent – Overall, I definately recomend these for kids. I think it benefits children by just making them more calm and helps them with them behavior and and the things they do. They also look and taste great so you will no longer have to beg your children to take them. They just want too becuase they taste way better than the big tablets that are hard to… Read more
swallow. It appeals to children more and they liek it alot more than the big tablets that taste asll gross and fishy. These kid's tab;ets were a very good idea. No cons about them! They're great!
Excellent – overall i think it is great for kids ! most will like it and take it more and more. if ur kids are fussy then give it a try. who knows they might like it. this actaully works. i started giving my kids these and they loved it. they like the taste and the shape. its attractive and helps kids. they love the taste. they couldnt taste the fish oil.… Read more
the flavour was blackkarant. they loved the taste and practicly asked for more. so i give them about 2 each day monring and night. i see improvement in kids. they learn quicker. some children might not like it like my children did. some may not like the taste but give it a try maybe they will like it. but there isnt really anything that kids wont like about it. just maybe the taste. but i think its alright.
Good – i think this product is really attractive towards children. I think even the packaging is cute. I have tasted this myself after my younger cousin offered me one (she really likes eating them so she wanted to spread the love around). it's beneficial for children so it is good for their development that they take it. It also helps parents to give… Read more
their children something good for them by looking and tasting attractive It might not be that appealing for all children. One con is that it may be too attractive and children might be eating them like lollies
Excellent – My teenagers love it!...They take 3 burstlets each a day, they actually ask me if they can have it. I had tried to make them take Fish Oil supplements for a long time, but they have always hated the terrible after taste and swallowing such huge liquid filled capsules. My daughter saw Nature's Way Kids Smart Fruity Chewable Burstlets advertised on… Read more
TV and begged me to get them. I was skeptical at first, how could Fish Oil taste so good that kids would chew it? But you know what both my kids love it. I tried one for myself, just to see what they are like and if they truely are chewable and have no terrible aftertase. I was pleasantly surprised when I took one. The taste is sweet, the burstlets can either be chewed or you can suck the sweet syrupy liquid and throw away the burstlet covering. shaped like a fish the little kids will probably like it too.
Ever since I purchased this product I haven't had to 'force' my kids to have their Omega 3's! Thank you Natures Way for being Kid smart! Fish Oil that tastes Great for Kids! What could be better? nohing at all.
Terrible – both my sons gagged when they tried these. they hated the way the liquid came out and the taste of it. It tried to add the liquid to milk and food and they totally rejected the food due to the smell and taste Like the concept The taste of the liquid
