Home Address Missing Every Time I Start My Car – Every time I start my car, NAV starts with the 'agreement' page and 'SAFE DRIVING' page. All go well then except the 'Home address' is wiped blank. It was not the case in my previous MY400LMT or S50, they went straight to maps or main menu with 'home address' in the memory. Show details · 1
Navman CRUISE 550 MT With Magnetic Window Mount – We purchased this unit in September 2020 (Serial # C55099M04293) from JB HIFI, navigation and mapping is excellent and does what it's supposed to do and should give many years of service. The magnetic part of the 'magnetic window mount' is excellent as it allows removal of the unit to input info whilst on the road. However the suction mount should… Read more · 1
not break under normal use. I consider normal use is removing the complete unit off the screen when the car is unattended. A problem with the 'magnetic window mount' is the 'plastic lever/cam' mechanism that operates the suction cup snaps at the 'metal pin' inside the holder. Well I am totally blown away; my unit is a long time out of warranty and Navman have kindly agreed to send me a replacement window mount. That's what you call excellent after sales service. Thank you Navman.
Piece of Junk , ripped off – Bought a navman550 mt from JBHIFI . it does weird things. Turns off for no reason . You can not get back to main menu screen most times. I hate this gps. Show details
The suction cup is poorly made and break so easily – The suction cup is poorly made. The magnet is too strong that it break the cup holder that was built with tiny screws and plastic. The GPS it self is doing what it supposed to do but the battery life is quite poor and updating the map is a hassle. Show details
Poorly made suction cup and magnet holder.. Naman cruise 550MT – Used this unit twice and the back snapped off when trying to adjust it. Noted then how flimsy the part that connects to suction cup from the unit is around the magnet piece.. Navman replaced the broken part with polite customer service which I am grateful for. This has changed my view as at least they are respectful and resolved the issue. When… Read more

My charged battery won't last in Car – I also have a new Navman Cruise550Mt.. The charge will only last about 3 days in the car, then it is flat..The cigarette lighter is working and the green light showing. I also can not find any way to actually contact Navman about this.. Why isn't the car keeping the Navman battery charged ??? Show details · 1
Waste of money – Bought a Navman 500MT a few weeks ago, was just looking for a generic fairly cheap navigator seeing as phone GPS is illegal in my state unless unrestricted license. The battery is horrendous, I don't drive for hours each day and i drive locally so will have the screen turned off as it's not needed, i fully charged it via USB in my house and after… Read more
5 days the battery is flat without it being used in those 5 days and being plugged into car and charging each day.
The magnet is strong, too strong when compared to the suction cup so if I don't brace the cradle before trying to remove the Navman it will rip the entire unit off the windscreen.
Maximum voice loudness is very low volume, can barely hear it over a mouse fart.
Supplied cords are way to short to be useful.
Constantly gives me no GPS signal when there is nothing between it and the sky and will only finally give me a signal when I'm already on the road to my destination and it's not worth the hassle to pull over to finally be able to put the destination in.

Bad unit – I bought my Navman Cruise 550MT in early February 2021, when inputting the address it will tell me a different house number citing that the house number I entered is mot available when it is. So I contacted PCN support, I was able to download the May 2020 map. My problem now is that I used it to go home, and it was telling me " the destination is… Read more
on the right", when my house is on the left, and the screen was showing a destination house number 39 when my house is number 36. On top of this problem, the battery does not hold a charge. PCN support told me that it if fine as long as the gps works. I just had this unit for less than 2 months and I already have several problems.

Didn't even get to turn it on – The windscreen suction cup mount, that uses magnets to clamp to the rear of the unit. Has magnets stronger than the screws holding the mount together. Pulled the mount away from the unit and it tore the screws from the holes. The magnets stayed firmly on the unit. The rest of the sealed bags of cables and the screen were unopened. Show details

Total failure on the speed alert – I mainly wanted it because my car doesn't give speed alerts But the speed warnings are totally unreliable. It gives wrong speeds. School zones sometimes and sometimes not. And sometimes where there is none. Railway crossing alert when there is none. Mysteriously gives school and railway alert in Bunnings carpark. Zero on this function. Navigator mysteriously took me down a back street instead of the main quiet road? Show details

Not fit for purpose – I bought the device about 7 months ago. I initially fully charged it from mains. I always use the in car power supply. Within the first month I started getting low battery messages. I have spent 6 months trying to get satisfaction from Navman. They repeatedly ask for information already provided. They did supply another in car power supply. … Read more
Still, most times I start my car the unit waits to gain some charge and does a cold start.
Navman basically blame li-ion technology and say it is behaving normally.
This device is not fit for purpose. Navman won't refund. They say return to retailer.

Needs work on the audio alerts – The GPS tracking is ok, but the audio alerts are out by about 30 meters. For instances, I can cross a railway line when the "railway line, 30 meters ahead" audio alert happens. I can approach anything that requires an audio alert at 250 meters and the device will sound out around 180-200 meters away. School zones are atrocious, I can be three… Read more
streets away and it will alert me to a school zone 250 meters. likewise any speed zone change and it's almost too late, or you can pass your turn when it gives you the "tun left in thirty meters" alert. This just doesn't occur in the city, where you might get dropouts from the GPS satellites, but in the country, it still has the issue. A neat unit, but the alerts need a lot of work to correct or every zone needs the co-ordinates updated by about 0.3 of a degree.

Incorrect speed limits – On a state highway eg. Port Wakefield Road South Australia it warns you that the speed limit is 60kph in fact it is 110kph. It also doesn't give correct warnings about railway crossings. Show details

Piece of junk – Ok, it's "only" $170. Other than the cheapness (and that's debatable) this should never have gone to market. The maps clunk around with long delays giving the feeling of playing a DOS PC game from the '80s.; The peck and find address system is antiquated; It does not have street numbers with 'A' or 'B' (53a..., for example) What? It goes flat… Read more
quickly and takes ages to charge; tapping a menu item either results in a delay and then action...or needs repeating tapping; on day 1 it froze, requiring a reset, on day 4 it froze and needed a restart; in a week and a half it has lost GPS signal oh...about 5 times; the voice is robotic, slow and irritating. I don't know how many turnoffs I have missed because of the map delay making this unit practically useless. I bought it purely for speed and crossing alerts which it does although the distance away is inaccurate above. It's going back
