Navman EZY200 - So Ezy to use, So Ezy to update - Minor issues only – I have ownd my Navman EZY200 since 2013. I was fortunate enough to get the Bonus Lifetime Maps updates with it all for under $100 - absolute bargain! I have never had any problems updating the maps or the software. You dont need any account so no need to log in to their web site. The GPS works just fine but sometimes slow to pick up GPS signal.… Read more · 6
Voice guidance is loud and clear. The alerts and warnings are helpful, adequate and keep you out of trouble. The windshield mount is great. Minor Issues as follows: Updates are infrequent - usually only twice a year. GPS does not work in tunnels (naturally). When answering phone using the built-in bluetooth it gets stuck on the phone call and so cant disconnect or go back to navigation. Touch screen could be more sensative but much better than my previous Navman MY50T. Battery doesnt hold charge so must be plugged into cigarette lighter at all times.
But seriosly I dont know why other reviewers have anything to complain about. As they say - User problem. Unfortunately most happy users have no reason to post a review. hence you only hear about the complaints.
If you see these selling used make sure it has the Bonus Lifetime Maps updates. But otherwise great choice!
Auwfull service – This GPS works, buy attempting to update the lifetime maps is next to impossible. When you ring for help they promise to assist, but you end up back where you started. I gave up in the end & have switched to a Tom Tom, where it was easy to update the maps, & their service when you ring is very good
Not a care in the world – Never ever had any issues....never mislead me, always provided clear and concise information. Simple to use and I bought during a promotion so I received Free Lifetime Maps and its still updated even today. I have now bought another New navman with crash cam onbboard and love it. The EZY100T is great unit thatnever let me down.
It a heap of junk very hard to use – I have a Navman EZY100T and find it to be hopeless White Cliffs in NSW shows up 45kms from where it is. Coordinate I cannot find a way to enter
Don't bother! – Don't waste your money on this product. Connecting to satellite can take a number of minutes so you can never be in a hurry. Warnings for turns are often too late and can be misleading. Our unit is just out of warranty and has died...screen will not come on at all. Will be buying a different brand this time.
Buy a Tom Tom – I bought the Navman EZY 200 as an entry level unit, just to have when needed and thought the bluetooth option would be good for hands free talking on the phone when needed. Unfortunately the unit somehow lost all it's memory and my saved places, then wouldn't save any new locations or allow me to edit the ones I had. I took it back, thinking… Read more
I just had a bug in the unit, the new one allowed me to save about 4 locations, now won't at all. I don't mind it turning on when I turn on the car, I just wish it would turn off when I turn off the car. I have to reach up and remember to switch it off or it just stays on until the battery runs out. Just a bit annoying.
The bluetooth doesn't work that well and I stopped using it after only a short time. It also has an annoying feature that if you have the bluetooth volume turned up so you can take phone calls, then the volume of all the various bells and beeps and noises made by the unit are turned up as well. I like navigating without the voice, but can't when I had the volume up for potentially taking a call while navigating.
Don't buy this, what ever you do.
Jeff So far, nothing
Junk – Bluetooth speaker not loud enough, can't hear what anyone says. Laggy touch screen. All of this would be fine if i didn't have a fault on my last drive. Unit has bee fine around city. I guess cheap parts make it overheat, went for about 3 hour drive, unit got stuck in some sort of loop. Volume would appear, then main menu, then back to map with… Read more
volume symbols, kept doing this over and over. Tried restart still did same thing. Going to take it back. Easy connectivity, when it worked. Nice looking simple unit, great features for price, but at a cost? Overheats, faulty unit.
Navm,an Ezy200 – This worked for a few weeks, or so it seemed. Battery life with the in car charger was a distinct issue. Sent it back under warranty at my expense. it came back a couple of weeks later, and is still playing up. When it came back there was no paper work as to what they had tested and repaired. Threw it in the bin. Lesson learned. Bloody nothing. Chinese made rubbish.
Rubbish – I use mine for tracking my travel times, so PC connectivity - as promised on the box - is essential. I can overlook the clunky interface, the lousy touch screen, all the other myriad faults that mar this unit - but the absolutely worthless software it comes with, coupled with the on-board OS (WinCE) are absolutely rubbish. Avoid this unit like the plague. Nothing slow, lousy software, poor touch screen

Bluetooth issues Navman Ezy 200 – Okay, so I went to the good guys where a 'navman specialist' was working and assured me that my Samsung Galaxy S3 is compatible with this GPS for hands-free phone calls. So I unwrapped it tonight and tried it out thinking it would be good for work as I'm on the road alot, but no.. I can hear whoever I call or calls me but they cant hear me.. Bad… Read more

Not Happy – Bought in December. Used it for about two weeks in the 6 months since. Sent twice for repair, each repair took over one month, and came back still malfunctioning. Display has very poor contrast and has faulty bright pixels. Map updates are free, but the newest maps are obsolete compared to my old TomTom. The thing always powers on when I turn the… Read more
car key on. I hate that. I only want it on when I need it. No way to turn this silly feature off in the software. Battery barely lasts 10 minutes if not plugged into cigarette lighter. Ok, it is a very low cost unit (I paid under $100 at Harvey Norman), but it is definitely not worth it. I wasted my money. Price, lifetime maps, inbuilt bluetooth handsfree poor support, poor sevice, inferior display, primitive software,

Difficult confusing mpa update procedure, atrocious customer service – We purchased this unit last year, including an offer of lifetime free map upgrades. This requires registering online, receiving a key from Navman and following a procedure on our computer with the NavDesk software. But what came up on the computer screen wasn't like what was shown in the instructions provided. Emailed customer support,… Read more
using a facility on their web
page, received a reply after two days asking the model number replied
immediately, no reply from them after 4 more days.
Phoned customer service (only available during working hours - pity for folk
that work!), half an hour on hold. Spoke to someone who seemed to be saying
that what I saw on the screen indicated that the device was not detected by the
computer.
Then he sent me some further instructions to try to fix this. This involved
putting the original DVD into the computer, when it was supposed to autoplay
and show a certain screen, which would offer an option for browsing files on
the DVD. It idn't. I was able to find an autoplay option for the DVD, but
something quite different came up (a screen to choose language, then a screen
offering install or view documentation).
I was able to find another way of viewing files on the DVD, and tried to run
the ones listed on the email, but three gave an error ("Unable to find a volume
for file extraction. Please verify that you have proper permissions.")
So, back to the retailer, and explained all this. Obviously they weren't game
to try to see if they could make the software work on their computer - so have
sent it off for repair - though I don't imagine they have any idea whether it
is a problem with the device, or with the software, or just with the
instructions provided.
Normally of course one would get on to the company's customer service to work
through the problem and establish whether the device actually needs repair, but
as I've described above that's not the way with this company.
And I've already spent more time on this (eg, downloading the latest NavDesk
software in case that was the problem, etc) than I'm likely to spend in the
rest of my life reading paper road maps can't compare - never had one before software Iprobably) doesn't work, lousy customer service
Beware – Navman is not supported by Mac. Nowhere that I could find do they say this. The Good Guys Hoppers Crossing where I bought it say they can't be expected to ask the customer everything. I think it's a simple question and furthermore, I'm astonished they're happy to send the customer out the door with a piece of equipment they know that when the… Read more
customer gets home, there's a 50% chance it wont work as promised. Navman has offerred that if I post the unit to Sydney, they will install the maps, and post it back. That's a solution. Welcome to the 20th Century. Wouldn't know. It's my first GPS unit. I guess I just put myself in the hands of the salespeople. Silly me. I hope the lifetime maps thing works well. I wouldn't know.

Know better, choose better.
Cheap but overpriced? – At $109 including lifetime map updates I thought this would be good value. However it turns out it is about $100 too much. Compared to the Go Cruise 5.0" GPS we bought from Aldi it is really bad. First the map is well out of date. When driving past Redbank on the Ipswich motorway going east or west it says the speed limit is 80kph and warns… Read more
about a railway crossing. Anyone driving on this 6 lane highway at 100kph would be surprised to see a level crossing appear. And what is the use of a speed limit alert when it doesn't know the speed limit of the road you are on?
Second the menus and interface are useless. How hard would it be to have an option to save your current location as a favourite? Too hard for Navman clearly. You have to find your location then save it by going through several screens. But if you touch the actual spot you are at it will bring up a menu that will not allow you to get to the screen you need to save that location as a favourite.
Third the map colour schemes included with it are also useless. Why have 6 colour schemes that are all white roads on off white, cream or light grey backgrounds where the road is almost the same colour as the background.
Fourth if the screen is in full sunlight it is completely unreadable/invisible at any brightness setting.
Fifth it won't automatically turn off when the car is turned off and will just run until the battery dies.
Sixth you have to accept the warning and navigate through menus to the map every time it turns on. Would it be so hard to have it resume where it was when last used. Obviously too hard for Navman.
Seven the touch screen sensitivity is not good. It won't react at all to a quick touch and is slow to react to a longer touch. This makes it very hard to quickly navigate or input addresses and when scrolling the map it will keep going into a menu instead of moving or zooming.
This GPS has no redeeming features. Even the cheap price and lifetime maps are useless because it is difficult to use and the maps are inaccurate and out of date.
Lesson learnt.
poor usability, screen, interface, maps and everything else.
Update.
A Technological Achievement – The Ezy100T is a technological achievement. In addition to the basic function of navigating a route, it can store destinations for later use, record the kilometres travelled and calculate the amount of fuel used based on the vehicle consumption rate nominated. Unfortunately, for those who purchased the device prior to Oct 30th it is unsupported… Read more
with map updates. Only the demi gods at Navman can explain why.
Despite that the unit is driven by NavTeq satellite technology, there have been occasions when the Ezy100T has failed to identify streets in established built up areas, but for the most part it is reliable. Enroute to a destination, the navigator will immediately recalculate when directions are ignored and continue to direct the vehicle to the nominated destination. The instructions are clear and timely, unlike other networks whose robotic voice will direct the driver to take the third left or the first left( which sound very similar due to the tonal quality) and far too late.
Additional features include a safety camera alarm, speed limit alarm at every speed zone change and a comprehensive settings program to tailor the device to preference. Apart from the total confusion which seems to reign at Navman about the future of the device, it accommodates my needs as a courier and comes at a comparable price to similar rival products. Functionality Lack of mapping back up support
Does the job, good price, 4/5 – This GPS, has a slim design, it is light, and has being performing great for me, for 2 weeks now. The unit was bundled with a car charger, usb 5 pin cable and suction mount, all accessories are working well. Here are the best points: light weight slim design bright screen (day/night) clear loud voice easy menu great safety features responsive screen, clear voices, safety features nothing, its a great unit
