Navman F-Series

OK – Thing is, I probably won't spend the time or money on contacting Navman because from reading the other reviews above, it's probably cheaper and less effort to just buy a new one. Maybe that's the point. Overall, if you wwant a cheap, easy, functional GPS, go for it, but don't excpect it to last forever. Easy to use, clear voice directions,… Read more
good value for money. Erm, I should probably add to my previous review and say that it died on us over the weekend, after only 18 months. It's one of the cheaper models, but you don't expect it to die so soon.
Good – The unit is a very compact and easy to use. The newer versions would be worth considering as the last 5 years have been relatively good with my unit. Very clear voices. Good selection of personalisation options. I like the favourites listing. Very easy to use. My Navman is starting to age, as I got it in 2006. With age comes a few problems. It… Read more
doesn't like to operate for more than 5 minutes if it is not plugged into the car adaptor, which isn't really that bad unless you can't find the charger. It also doesn't have maps after 2006. There are downloads available, but as the unit is coming up for 5 years old, it may prove easier to buy a newer and more updated model. There is also a tendancy for the route chosen to be the more "scenic" option.
navman – the sound is great nice and loud. the voice is easy to understand not like others i have used. I have noticed a few times the directs are a bit short it will say the last turn left right as you are at the street, most cases it is fine if there are not streets that are close together but when you have streets that are a few meters apart it can… Read more
become very annoying. i have found the battery varies to how long it will last sometimes it will last for hours but other times i am stracthign to get just over a hour out of it. easy to use. screen is a bit small
Good – Good GPS, maps are too expensive to get latest maps, more than buying a new GPS from a no name brand gps. Wouldn't buy a NAVMAN until the maps get better in price. $179 here in Aust and only $100 if you buy in UK, you figure. Easy to use. Mounted to vehicle easily Maps for updates are ridiculously priced. Bit slow to get back on track when you miss a turn.
OK – Would be cheaper to buy a new Sat Nav every couple of years, than fork out big money for update every 12 months. Easy to use, a great help when on holiday & for work purposes. A bit slow in picking up a wrong turn & re-calculating. Needed update ($190) just 12 months later.
Terrible – Took unit to JB-HIFI Modbury on 29th Nov 2008- Very poor saff assistance. Cant fix unit, dont know where to send it for repair, throw it away.A unit costing nearly $500 throw it away!! I will never shop at JB-HIFI Modbury SA, or buy a Navman. CRAP !!! purchased unit as a friend has one . stated it was good.Good size. Paid $489- in April 2007- now does not work.JB-HIFI said throw it away.
Terrible – Navman do not support their customers and therefore do not need them. My advice is buy a Tom Tom or similar but not a Navman Easy to use Very poor customer service from company, no instructions on how to update maps, Map updates are expensive, battery life pathetic.
Bad – my real opinon i would never buy one,i would just have to return it and have so much trouble with it and if ur lost this wont help you might get more lost . nice and slim, big screen ,loud speaker can hear great on it.. i work at auto barn and every navman comes back for return ,battery over heated ,screen fades ,dosent turn on ,no help from the… Read more
company so they return it, very hard to update the system need to down load so much fire walls and live wires and bassically no instructions for this device takes hours to work out and sometimes dosent find any thing then shuts down and takes 1 hour to start up again.
Good – A good little machine. No fancies such as Bluetooth or a walking option and you can’t plan a route in advance unless you're at your start point already, but I'm very happy with it. Buttons on the front to find the nearest service stations and parking. Not all service stations and parking appear. Hard to read distance to next turn while driving.
Good – I give 4.5/5 points. Everything is good with this GPS navigation system, just screen is "square type", would be better if it would be more widescreen. Easy to update maps with new ones, user-friendly interface. I recommend this GPS to everyone. Easy navigation through menu. Easy to update with maps. User friendly interface. I didn't liked square screen. Would be better if this model would be more wide.
OK – The Europe map is broken up into sub maps unlike Aus which is one map. It reminds you how small Aus is in the world stage we have ahuge country that is mainly desert. The petrol station feature is a bit of a gimick as only the amjopr brands are listed (obvoiusly they had to pay) I prefer the next model up which has blue tooth so you can use your… Read more
phone with it for addresses and it becomes a hands free kit for the car. Overall a fair machine but a bit pricy easy to change maps for whatever country Maps are not cheap for other countries
Terrible – overall i never would buy another navman their service is appalling we were trying to find out how to install a map upgrade i emailed and emailed got the standard we will get back to you automatic reply but they do not get back to you so many times i tried to call put on hold for hours then at 5 pm the phone went deaqd guess they all went home… Read more
eventually someone gave me the name of a tech that would help with his direct number i got a message bank left my details..he has not ever got back to me i cannot believe a business with such poor service this was not my only issue there have been several and it is frustrating..never again great for finding addresses in unfamiliar areas navman lack of service
Bad – Waste of time buying due to limited time period before an update is required. Makes outlay over the year of purchase as nearly $700.00. Easy to use, very clear Useless after a few months as you have to update and the map update prices are far to expensive at $179.00.

Good – For the price of this small little unit, it does the job without hassle. If the unit comes with a safety camera feature, it would be 10 out of 10. Navman F10: Small and easy to handle Doesn't have a safety camera info
Actually Useful – The new Navman 'F20' is the one thing that any new owner must have. It is pefect for any car whether it be 30 years old, 5 years old, or brand new. The Navman F20 is easy to use with its gentle touch screen, which also makes it very safe. It is an affordable piece of quality equipment that is light, strong, and easily moved around from… Read more
your persona car, to your work vehicle, or even to a freinds vehicle if you are travelling together. The Navman F20 allows you to travel around the city, or in the country. around the city it shows all of the public parking areas so that you don't go driving around in circles forever, and it even shows all of those nasty little one way streets. In the country it ensures that you do not miss those little old country tracks by giving you enough warning time before they appear. light and durable, with a touch screen. Small screen.
Excellent – i like the navman because it is easy to use, usable in bush and in the big city or town. Good for four wheel driving if you get lost. i really like the navman because it is more understandable than maps for people who can't read maps that well. If i could have a choice i would go with the navman anyday. Navman are very understandable. 1. easy to… Read more
use 2. Finds places quick and easy 3. If you don't know your way around a city or town you can punch letters and it gives you directions straight away. 1. battery life is low. That is the only problem i see with the navman
OK – Okay. Wouldn't be without it but could be improved by including more parks, entertainment centres, petrol stations, etc. I haven't downloaded updates for awhile, so may be improved once this is done. This may also update for road changes Makes travelling to new destinations easy. Have had wired into our car although easy to take down and store… Read more
away from sight when not in use. Not able to find some destinations and doesn't recognise some new changes to roads.
Good – Wonderful device to have inside the car or for outback use through the bush to find the nearest road. Can be used for other purposes. Excellent if you are looking for a place and instead of looking through the road map all you need to do is press a few buttons and your done. Very simple and inexpensive. Can be used for multiple purposes, not only… Read more
on the road but in the bush when your lost. The detail of it isn't so great as some of the other GPS's, and it doesn't reveal everything that you want to see.
