Purchased free maps NOT RECIEVED – We purchased our Move 30 from Harvey Norman in 2014, as advertised with “Free lifetime maps” and registered on online same day. Received acknowledgement email offering 15% discount on updated maps. Phoned the 1300 number and talked to someone who insisted that our unit was not registered despite our email acknowledgment. I payed for free map updates for life and have not recieved what I payed for

Hi Mayor Mike, The email you have received is confirmation that you have registered for our website, but was not registration for the promotion that was run at the time. as stated on the promotional material, the "Free Lifetime maps" were via redemption only.

The terms and conditions of the promotion did advise that registration was needed at external link  and further registrations would not be accepted as of the end of December 2014.

Unfortunately due to not having been registered within the qualifying period, and the time that has elapsed since then, we are unable to provide you with any free mapping

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Regards, Senior Navman Support

Thank you for your reply. We have not seen anywhere in our paperwork where it was necessary for us to Register 2 seperate registrations for the 1 purchase to receive what we paid for. I remain totally dissatisfied with Navman service.

Rubbish – Voice instructions had to be installed, but still don't have the voice even after following instructions, now I see from another review that the voice cuts out sometimes! Another review says the battery is rubbish. Come on Navman. Up your game and give your customers working devices which is what they pay for.

Hi cjay, The Move85LM is still quite new, however you do have protections under Australian Consumer law that a new device will work as intended, and be free from defects, so if you did have any problems, we would be more than happy to assist to rectify..

Thanks, Senior Navman Support

review navman 30 car gps – After some months and approximately 100 hours of regular use I have found my Navman 30 car gps generally reliable and trouble free. Lately the audible voice instruction sometime cuts out and this problem may develop further. The device sometime gets lost and gives totally wrong instructions which can be a problem when travelling in completely unfamiliar areas of course. If this occurs in familiar locations and the device is ignored it will correct itself within a few minutes and change of location.

I rate it as 4 stars only because of these occasional wrong instructions, other than that the gps fulfills my requirements.

Navman 30 – Since I have bought this, the machine has never held a charge for long, as soon as you turn off the machine it looses stored battery power, by the next day it has lost 2/3 of battery power, it is also very slow picking up GPS signal even in the open with clear sky. as this is my second Navman, I thought I would be loyal, not until I borrowed a GPS system from my friend I found a huge difference in systems, it was a TomTom compare the both system I would recommend the TomTom, Within the last week Navman system server had broken down ,as email explains:

Thank you for contacting the Navman team.

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. As I understand it, the maps were removed from the GPS after you tried to install the map updates and it also now won’t hold charge. I will assist you with this.

To further test the device, what you may do is to charge it through the computer via USB cable. Leave it connected for 6-8 hours to be fully charged. After this, the device should last for 1-1.5 hours without connecting to any power source.

Regarding the maps, you may try to perform a hard reset to see if it will reload the maps. Press the reset pin hole button on the bottom right back part of the unit (you will need to use a paper clip or pin to press it) and then turn it back on. If would no longer load the maps, you may need to do a smart recovery. However, this cannot be done now because we are having a server problem. The server problem could also have caused the problem you encountered with the map update.

I am sorry to say that we are currently experiencing technical issues with our Navdesk servers. This affects any software, map updates, map and key activations, any data synchronization and recovery methods performed in Navdesk.

We are working hard to fix the issue within the next 24 to 48 hours (but it may take longer). We would like to thank you for your patience by offering you this promo code LOYALTY50 to be used on accessories for our online store, http://www.navmanstores.com.au/ACCESSORIES.

Please do not continue to send emails asking for an update, we will notify you by email once the issue is resolved.

After the server is fixed, you may do the smart recovery and click the following link for the procedure:

I tried to ring them with no answer as I gave them 15 min on my IPhone, cost me a fortune, gave up, the above email was 22/1/2015, 24/1/2015 still nothing, not until up to 27/1/2015 some of the system came on line then today some more has come on line.

I highly would not recommend Navman GPS as they are very unreliable and so are the people in Australia branch.

This is a stupid GPS – I used navman easy brand. That was awesome. After 2 years it was not working. Now bought move which is terrible. Changed to another move, that is also terrible. Took long time to get the signal. Then giving misdirection, battery charge remain around 2 minutes. It is giving me lots of headache. Today I am going to change this stupid thing again.

Hi Sharif. I'm sorry for the difficulty you were having with your Navman unit. Battery life will differ depending on the settings you have selected, such as volume and screen contrast. To take full advantage of battery life, we recommended that the Navman device is plugged into the 12v charging portal at all times. However if you don't wish to plug it in all the time, you can change the volume and contrast settings to maximise battery life.

The device should take about 1 minute to get a signal. If it takes longer than that, the device might be faulty. You can contact our customer support on 1300 628 626 or 02 9879 9000 or pcnsupport@navman.com.au who can advise you on the next steps.

If you still have your device, and it's giving you misdirection, it's best to call our Customer Support line who will be able to give you guidance on what maps you have currently.

Thank you,

Navman Support
