NOT WHAT MEETS THE EYE!!! DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE! Bought a Move70LM not realising that the MAPS CANNOT BE UPDATED - despite the "lifetime" guarantee (which was what caused me to buy the device in the first place). Wish I had checked first. DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE OR ANY OLDER DEVICES BECAUSE NAVMAN WON'T SUPPORT ONGOING MAP UPDATES AND MISLEAD WHEN IT COMES TO THE DEFINITION OF "LIFETIME"!

Automatic obsolescence – There was an update to the 'Navdesk' and since that I am no longer able to connect my Navman to get update maps. I suspect that this is a way of making my unit un-useable/obsolete. The mount failed early I guess from the sun, or poor materials.

has a mind of its own – I had previously given this gps 5 stars & an excellent Review of how accurate the unit is But that was then this is now. All of a sudden the unit has developed a mind of its own its far from accurate i regularly travel in signposted 100km zones back & forth along the same route lately when i have been traveling along this area the stupid GPS is… Read more

telling me i am in a 50km zone for the whole journey on the return trip along the exact same route the GPS is telling me i am in 100km zone Then all of sudden after traveling about 30kms it reverts back telling me i am in a 50zone when there is a sign post 100km zone. Then it starts beeping for a school zone & there are no school zones for miles around. Then starts beeping for a level crossing & NO level crossings. When i set it for a certain destination it starts out ok giving the correct directions then all of a sudden tells me to perform a u turn as iam traveling in the wrong direction Then changes its mind & sends me 30 kms out of my way. & gives wrong street names that dont exist in the area i am driving in The unit was cheap now i know why it is the biggest piece of s**t going to buy a Tom Tom.

It works fine untill this GPS wrong time issues occurs , but no complains as Navman got answer – It is a great light weight GPS with 5" touch screen suit both incar or on the bike. Easy to find your way home. However it gets to a point that the time and date goes wild... the whole unit turns the time back to 1/1/2014 and it start to gives incorrect ETA and screen brightness. I managed to get this time and date error fixed by the following… Read more ·  1

First you need to prepare a 8GB or 16GB Micro SD card (Do Not Use 4GB, I experienced it may not work) Secondly download the patch provided above and extract into your MicroSD Then follow the 10 Steps procedure. It takes about 3mins to fix this wrong time issues.

Thank you Navman

Not happy – Won't automatically change from day mode to night and reverse. Wrong time & date. Takes time to pick up signal so am not sure of correct speed because it goes up and down.

My car can't swim – Not only is this version of Navman keep trying to send people across the Hastings River at Hartys Plains Road, Brombin near Wauchope NSW Australia where there is no bridge or a river crossing; an earlier version does too, despite updates. It leads to even B Double trucks being forced to turn around on a narrow country road. Attempts to advise… Read more

Navman end up with the company blaming their map provider for wrong information and no easy way for them to fix it. Generally Navman is terrific apart from these few anomalies and not being up to date with speed limits. We have one in each of two vehicles and I love it when confronted with Sydney traffic and trying to find my way around. So Brickbats and Bouquets to Navman.

March 10th 2018 Update: My car can't swim Update

8 months later, Navman's map provider has not rectified sending people across the Hastings River near Wauchope, NSW on uncrossable, unfordable, bridgeless Hartys Plains Rd. Not good enought Navman .. lift your game. And by the way, Oxley Hwy from the Donut to Hospital roundabout, Port Macquarie has been 100km (not 90kph) for 6 months.

good value – Simple device, easy to use, comes with all accessories required. good value for money. was fortunate to get a good deal online. not a big screen, however was sufficient for our requirement. there may be opportunity to improve software to make it easier to get certain addresses, currently unresponsive for certain values  Show reply

Best GPS ive ever owned – maps are accurate, & up to date, Easy to use window bracket (window needs to be cleaned 1st otherwise it wont stick) a bit hard to unclip the 1st few times but got easier the more times i did it. Takes 2 hands to unclip it, but so does any other Gps, start up process can be skipped, street names are easy to find when typing them in. Downloads are easy, paid $98 for it from Harvey norman. great buy at a great price.  Show reply

Navman Move 70 LM GPS windscreen mount – I recently purchased a Move 70LM GPS (and payed a lot more than $98). The unit clipped easily into the window bracket but was really hard to remove and in fact I could not unclip it through fear of doing damage so I took it back to the store I bought it from and the sales person unclipped it admitting that it was tight and that if I wanted to… Read more

remove it then I could perhaps unscrew the part that attaches to the swivel. Not good enough. When I summoned up the courage to use brute force to remove the unit from the bracket (the entire unit had to be removed from the windscreen, power removed and two hands used) I found that the upper part of the case had separated. Fortunately it clipped back together with no obvious damage at this time but the separation was inevitable given the force required. I contacted Navman and without question they offered (and I accepted) a new windscreen mount. The new mount has not yet arrived but on closer examination I believe that the upper clip on the bracket is too large for its purpose. I sanded the clip down gently and now it is secure and can be removed with one hand while still attached to the windscreen. I believe that the support bracket for this unit is poorly designed and tested and I do not expect the replacement bracket to be any different. The bracket for my F 10 left nothing to be desired whereas this unit requires 3 functions to remove it; 1 remove power lead. 2 remove entire bracket from windscreen. 3 unclip unit from mount (if you can).

13 March 2017 - I just received the replacement mount. Just the same.

Dont know what every one is complaining about – Great unit, accurate & up to date, for $98 its better than my previous Tom Tom. Speed camera alerts, school zone alerts, railway crossing alerts all accurate gives a warning when within 20m. Even the older speed cameras up to 10 yrs old are listed. I've had no issues with the screen the only thing is removing the unit from the holder you need to… Read more

July 11th 2017 Update: Good GPS

Simple easy to use, I've owned other GPS units & Navman is far more accurate, Small screen with a lot of glare from the sun when using the windscreen bracket. Device is easily updated. Good value for money. I only gave it 3 stars because there is no air vent holder available as an accessory for Navman units. All other units have them available as an accessory so for that I've taken away 2 stars it would've been a five star review only for that. The stick on holders leave marks on the windscreen which are hard to remove, the air vent are a lot more practical & prevent sun glare. Come on Navman if you want a five star rating bring out an air vent holder for your devices. Tom tom Garmin & every other brand has them available.

Very sensitive to breakage – Unable to review this item as it broke on the first attempt to use it. I was attempting to remove the gps from its clip-in holder and it separated down the middle about 1mm. The screen then displayed a dark line and blotch in the middle. Customer service said warranty does not cover screen, but I could pay $70 to get it fixed (purchased for $137). This design fault and a lack of warning about the sensitive screen is extremely unsatisfactory.

Forget Navman – The redlight and speed cameras, there are ones which have been around for 5 years, that are not listed...and the ones that are listed, they are inaccurate in distancing. They will say Red Light camera 20 mts a head when you past it 50 mts back. I did a regular update 6 months ago and my Navman makes so many mistakes. Won't bore you, just don't buy it.

Good entry level GPS navigation unit but lacks some features – I somewhat like this GPS. It has most of the required options while navigating. Accurate driving speed calculation. Correct speed camera locations and road speed notification. So far most of what it offers are pretty accurate. Maps have newer roads. It has my home road which is new but not the house number. Update software a bit clumsy but… Read more ·  1

works and it updated my maps.

Lifetime built in maps option is really good to keep the device up to date for next few years. Easy search and I was able to find everything so far. Nice collection of POIs and one can select and route to poi on the map. Good near me POIs option.

However, I have been a regular user of one of the navigation apps on my phone. My phone GPS had gone bad and I thought to try out a dedicated unit.

I instantly see some below mentioned features lacking that I get on my phone GPS.

1) Screen resolution is just usable. Should be at least 480p or 720p if not FHD. Even 720p is below standard now.

2) No upcoming POIs shown on the map for the route while driving. You have to stop the car and search via near me.

3) No constant lane guidance. I encountered many such roads where it should show which lane to use but it did not and only shows lane guidance for the major junctions.

4) Cannot add multiple way points for the same route.

5) No multiple routes for the destination. Only shows one. Not sure if that's the best one too :).

I personally belief above points should be part of any entry level GPS unit now.

However, if you just need a point A to B GPS with some good features excluding above then go ahead and I will recommend it.

Bad batteries – I bought a Navman Move70LM a few months ago to use in a hire car. The battery failed and it only ran on car power for a couple of days the went dead. I charged it up and tried it and it was OK Now 3 weeks later I thought I should give it a… Read more

bit of charge. It did start and it works but wont hold a charge. I feel this model must have battery issues for two to have the same problem. I had a Navman ezi before this and it was good for years.

Third Time Unlucky – Maps not accurate, out of sync with voice command. Signal strength weak sat signal constantly drops out. Voice volume not loud enough in heavy traffic, Easy to install.Having owned two previous gps`s this is the worst of the three, the best being My Navman 300 MLT (no longer available) Frustrated.!

Not happy – My main reason for buying my Navman was to for the speed limit alarm - speeding fines in S Australia are horrendous! Unfortunately, the device hasn't really served this purpose. I live in the Adelaide Hills, and travel in to the city on the SE Freeway. On two sections of my route, making up a significant proportion of my journey, the speed limit… Read more

displayed is incorrect. The first five km section is not really a big deal - the device says that the speed limit is 80kph, when in the actual limit is 100kph. The second 15km section, however, is the SE Freeway - one of Adelaide's busiest highways. Here the device tells me that the speed limit is 60kph, when the actual limit ranges between 90 and 100kph! The limit alarm squawks at me at intervals all the way along the freeway. This is annoying, but more importantly it desensitises the driver to the sound of the alarm. I have complained to Navman about it, but they tell me that the problem is a "mapping discrepancy" and that I will have to wait until the party responsible for creating and updating the maps next does an update. I binned the device.

good for the price – Cd compatible with Windows 7. Easy to install. Has a digital clock. When you view the map without setting a destination it still displays speed limits, lets you know when you are over the speed limit, warns you if you are in a school zone and when there are red light cameras - great. Only downside is it hard to remove the screen from the mount as it locks in tightly.

had just been released. The DVD did work on my ancient Vista laptop.

The GPS works like a charm and even includes safety cameras. I leave it connected all the time, it turns on and off with the ignition and I get audible warning of cameras.

Very pleased with unit, only downside is the voices are a bit 'tinny' and no others are available to download.
