Australian Map Upgrade Lock Out – Following the April 2019 GPS Roll-Over I attempted my free monthly upgrade of my Aust and NZ maps. Aust maps were locked out but the NZ maps upgraded normally. Due to volume of complaints to Navman, despite waiting for 30 minutes I was unable to either write or record a complaint. The "MY450LMT" model is not listed on the Navman site as a model with a problem. What is going on "Navman". Show details

Application error – Have a message on screen saying application error, then rang the No help desk waiting 15 min who then said they would forward trouble shooting info, which they did but was as helpful as a bag of broken toenails, no wonder they have discontinued the product, had purchased product only 8 days ago online.

Too many problems plus flimsy easily breakable mount not worth $40 – Like many others, when I bought this GPS I thought it would be outstanding. However, it sometimes tells me no maps available for my stored places. It has sent me in the wrong direction so many times and now the cradle has snapped. Navman want $40 for a whole mount when I only need the cradle. It would be nice if Navman at least would replace the… Read more

Avoid the Navman GPS – Twice previously the map software update has caused my Navman GPS unit to become unresponsive, requiring it to be sent back to Navman for repair. Now the most recent map update has bricked the unit again. Navman have advised because the unit is now out of warranty I have to pay to have it repaired. I say, their map update caused my otherwise… Read more

Waste of time and money – One positive is that it has speed camera warnings. In every other way my phone is quicker and better! Voice command is only accurate 20% of the time. Slow to start up. Even slower because of the safety nag. The software for the upgrades is glitch and I have wasted hours trying to get it working. I gave my old generic GPS to my ex wife. Now I wish I had kept it!

Worst GPS I could imagine – I am submitting this review so if any of these units are in the market - DO NOT BUY - completely unreliable - did not function / stop start / running off map - you name it. My fault I did not take back . I will never touch a NAVMAN product ever again. This product should have been recalled and the retailers selling told to take off shelf. … Read more

Absolute piece of rubbish – Brand new out of the box would not work. I went back to the Good Guys and they replaced the unit with a new one. When I tried to get it to work it would not start. Rang support they then sent me an email to return the unit to the agent in Sydney at my cost of $15.00 to send registered post. Received the new one and surprise surprise it did not… Read more

work either. Sent it back to the agent in Sydney again at my cost or $15.00. When the new one arrived it worked straight out of the box. It has been working fine the after the last map update it cannot find 2 address's that I need to go to.They exist because my old TomTom found them easily.

I have been having a long and painful exchange with Navman support who are located in the Phillipines, they are about as helpful as a one way sign in a dead end street. I rang the Office of Fair Trading and they are going to take my case. If anyone is thinking of buying one do not waste your money on these pieces of rubbish.

Rubbish – After getting 4 MY450LMT units the last one worked. I have had constant problems updating there maps. Every time you update the latest maps I cannot navigate to 1 particular place as every time I put the location in it says no map available. The support service cannot seem to fix the problem. It has cost me $26 dollars to resend the unit back to Navman. Not happy Jan. Dony buy this piece of rubbish.

Wrong directions, wrong speed zones – The maps on this unit can't find the way from Macleod Victoria to Epping (14klms). The speed warning at the start of the M80 Greensborough should be 80klmph, this unit advises 90klmph. Sometimes won't start up at all. The first MY450LMT I bought was replaced within the first couple of weeks, the second was little better. Don't buy a Navman

Navman worse GPS ever – Its hell slow, I go 1 kilometer than it completes calculating the route. This is rip off for bad product. They even should not sell the worse product in market. They just want to get our money. I spent over $200 and I always had problem with it. I can not believe, how can some one sell you that sht product, just get your money?

Have experienced many problems – Like Cazza I purchased a MY450LMT in 2013 and wasn't able to update maps. In fact, it stopped working at all after one of the attempts at downloading maps. The unit was returned for repair twice, only to still have the problem when I got it back. It may be difficult to believe, because it was for me but the unit was replaced with a new one on four… Read more

separate occasions, each of them having the same problem. So after 2 repairs and four replacements I finally had one that worked. The unit is slow to load, and warns of school and railway crossings which actually are about 400 metres to the left or right of the direction of travel, and it also warns of railway crossings when they have already been traversed and are some 400 metres to the rear. Yesterday, the unit failed again. I suspect that this time the battery has failed as it won't take or hold a recharge.

It is a VERY SLOW hardware, be patient before you hit the road – I bought this brand new at dick smith for over 200 bucks! can you believe this, I thought this was top of the range product of Navman. the first one I bought, open up the box and it turned up to be a MY300, do not know what is going on here and a MY300 in a 450 box! anyway I took it back and they changed a new one for me, this time is the 450. cannot wait to test in my car, plugged in and it tuned up automatically, but the speed is ridiculous! compare to my Tomtom ( in another car), I cannot believe it actually takes that long to read the map! and sometimes it just freeze at the load map for a very long time, I am so frustrated that I am waiting for it to be alive again before I can drive off.... this product is degigned by 90s technology and hardware, but charging a 25 century price. it is an absolute joke.

well, I am stuck with it now, and will be for a few years, but it is good, you know what, it wears off you and you become patient so, maybe it is their way to teach you to be a "safe driver".

Not happy – Had the unit for 6 months and the speaker has blown (assuming its the speaker because the speech was cracking, distorted and doesn't finish the instructions) and no sound at all the next day. Screen response is slow. If there was a map update, you would know about it because the unit will not pick up or take forever to pick up if at all. Live… Read more

Disappointing upgrade – I bought a Navman S90i back in 2008. It is still being used by my son. The cradle still holds the GPS after 7 years. However, the cradle for my Navman MY450LMT is plastic, and snapped after normal use in just over a year. The cradle is very poorly designed compared to the old unit, although it was a good idea to separate the power plug from… Read more

the mounting mechanism.

In my opinion, the software is not much of an improvement on the S90i. I expected the upgrade to be much quicker to pick up a GPS signal, and for the software to be far less laggy. The map upgrades do work well, and have been downloading every month or two, since I bought the unit.

Overall, it has been a disappointing upgrade.

No Maps to upgrade? – After purchasing the MY450LMT in 2013 to update from my TOM-TOM and the lifetime maps I have been unable to update any maps even after being notified that there are new ones to upgrade to. are available. I am sitting here at the moment with my GPS attached and have been trying for about 3 hours to try to work out what could be causing problems. I am still waiting for Navman support to contact me. I might just buy another TOM-TOM.

February 24th 2015 Update:

My husband and myself have tried to download and get the 450MLT software and gps working on 3pcs. Guess what? IT DOES NOT WORK. The help I received was merely a copy of what is available on line. My husband then sent an email regarding exactly what is going wrong when it is downloaded and updates are trying to be loaded. Still waiting for a response (approximately a week). Oh and have never had a map upgrade the entire time I have owned it 2013.

November 27th 2015 Update:

Absolute garbage. even though following the " instructions " given to us by the supposed experts at the other end of the off the phone and they wanted us to send it back for repair - obviously they thought it had a problem. Can't upload new maps.

Hopeless GPS – I used to have MY60 working OK but did not have map update after 3 years. I bought this MY 450 LMT and nightmare started. It took 5 to 10 min to start working, always hang while at starting up stage. Often to tell me turn right but suddemly tell me to turn left instead. What the hell is it! The voice command can never be picked up,how stupid! Unfortunately,I have bought two units, double bad luck!

The window mount cradle broke, flimsy – I don't usually write reviews that are negative. But I have not really been as disappointed with a product like this for a long time. Look the unit works fine once its gets a signal. But $39 for a new piece of plastic to mount it because the one you give to me broke after only a few months.... I'll never buy a Navman again. If it was like $15 or $20 ok, $39 plus shipping. mark my words never again

To buy or not to buy ?? – I'm so glad I came across this review page. I was thinking of buying a Navman until I read all here. Sounds like a lemon and customer support stinks ....I was hoping Navman's reply would address the lack of phone support complaints but looks like they have a standard reply which still suggest call back Customer Support... I think I'll go get myself a TOMTOM tomorrow instead ...

Heap of rubbish - Don't buy – Purchased on-line from Navman Trade in "Deal." $169-00. No Postage, no returning my old "trade in" & no waiting for shipping.

Thought I would give NAVMAN a second chance (my old MY60 didn't work that well but I need digital log book & no-one else seems to have it. BIG MISTAKE!! Faulty out of the box.

This "Top of the range" MY450LMT takes around 5 minutes to find a GPS signal, sometimes you are at your destination before it finds the signal. It has very slow touch screen response (I mean multiple seconds response time) Freezes & you can't reset - have to let the battery go flat before it restarts on USB power. You arrive at your destination & it thinks its still another 50 mtrs further up the road. Tells me I live 4 door up the road when I select "Home" (I know where I live !... I just want to log trips for tax purposes) Upgraded the software as requested by NAVMAN support - no difference. Navman won't send a new one, they want me to return it for repair & pay the freight. NOT HAPPY!! Never AGAIN.

Does everything I expect it to do – Despite reading negative reviews on this I still purchased it and have found it to work very well. I have added the 4WD Tracks to it and they work fine as well. Overall it is a good GPS and I am happy with it and after I have used it in the outback I will be in a better position to judge. That I could add the 4WD Tracks and the traffic alerts are fantastic. Battery life when not plugged in is a bit short but not critical. Show 2 replies

Has a lot of problems – The unit freezers on start up at times and you have to reset it. To much glare. Even with up dates it can not identify dead end streets or schools that have been shut down for years. If you use the trip planner and during your journey move one of the locations up above an old address it will start sending you to the beginning of the first… Read more

To slow to load.

If you are new to a city and have this unit you would get there quicker if using a street directory. You can fit a reverse camera onto it.

Worst. Decision. Ever – I wish I had found this site before purchasing my Navman450LMT. Well, if by compatible you mean that after several requests Navman will eventually email you a link that lets you download a… Read more

dinky icon that links you back to all the busted links in the Mac corner of the site.... I guess it is. The disc supplied (Windows only) has printed on it the incorrect address for mac users of Navman. The supplied printed user manual is pathetic. I had to ring Navman twice to get a pdf of the user manual sent to me. Hours of phone calls later with a succession of emails where Navman kept sending me software patches that would only run on Windows we learned that to use the Navman as advertised I would need to buy a new computer, and a new phone, as my phone wasn't compatible, and the software patch was, well, only available in a Windows version. 5 hours of phone support with Navman, to achieve absolutely nothing, and now I have to negotiate with Dick Smith to get my money back. Don't say you are mac compatible unless you are. When I get my money back I will probably go and buy an iphone with some GPS software and not have to faff about with an excruciating system of remembering to log in "0n the 3rd week of every month" for updates because that's how they roll at Navman. Clunky system, con job on compatibility, the battery life is short, and the phone support for the product is worse than useless.

Given that it doesn't work.....
