A good all use GPS – I have been using this 5inch box as all use GPS , and it's working pretty well. Able to update MAPS, FW and also can add a SD card to play with Show reply
The worst device I've ever seen. Always stack at start and need to be reset to factory settings – I'm totally not happy with your product, it's a waste of money and time. Bad signal quality and bad reaction while traffic changes and roundabouts. I sold it after two months of pain very cheap and bought very old but much better tomtom start 52. So I won't recommend this device to anyone. Show details
Awesome gps – This is a great gps easy to use I love the fact it reports traffic icidedents that will slow your trip allowing an alternative route to be used The Bluetooth car kit is away to use and quality of the calls is excellent This is a very accurate device and is fast to reclaulate an alternative route if I miss a turn ect Show 3 replies
Reliable gps – This gps is great. It has located a street address that other navigation systems through my android phone could not locate. The speed and red light camera features are the best I've seen. There was some glare on the screen but I cut out a piece of antiglare film and put it on the screen. Show reply
Not a good purchase – Maps are reasonably accurate. Volume is to low. Stuck on Australian maps will not go to NZ Not as easy to use as other brands. Over all I would not buy this product again and at this time it is no use to me as I cannot get any maps of New Zealand.I would not reckomend this product to anyone.
This was a great purchase for me – I previously owned a much older Navman with 2013 maps. I Instantly fell in love with Karen who spoke, street names, red light cameras, fixed speed cameras and traffic alerts. It swiftly turns on and acquires the satellites. The mounting puts it into an ideal location for my vehicle, Honda CRV. Karen does not tell me she is "recalculating the… Read more · 1
route" but just gets on with it. She also does not tell me "you are over the speed limit" instead there is and audible beep and the legal speed is highlighted on the screen, much better. I use my GPS as a driving aid especially when I do not know the route or address. MY 560LMT is ideal for this. I have no idea why people write bad reviews as if they are expecting the GPS to drive the car for them. I will never drive into a river down a ramp or go up a one way street the wrong way as I am the person driving the car, the GPS assists me and for that purpose this one is ideal.
Promising features but disappointing quality – In hindsight I should have taken in to consideration all the historical poor reviews for Navman quality and service but as this model was a newer, recent model thought I would give Navman the benefit of the doubt. This model for the price has a lot of nice features. 5" widescreen, nice looking unit with silver bezelled edge, lifetime maps and… Read more
free lifetime traffic updates.
First thing I noticed was how inaccurate the unit's satellite gps fixing was. I would receive a warning of a traffic camera or other landmark (railway line) etc but it was at least 100 metres out so I would be on top of that landmark before I had a chance to slow down!
I've only had this unit for 2 weeks and now the screen has a really bad burned in image of the m1 motorway on my current screen which is very annoying and disconcerting.
On the bright side I have spoken to the retailer (JB Hifi) and they are more than happy for me to bring it back for an exchange or a refund....
A repackaged discontinued MY550LMT but with newer firmware! – This device is pretty much what the title sums up as. Very similar to the MY550LMT just with added and newer firmware to make life that little bit more bearable than previous reviews given. Why did I buy this? Originally when I saw it yesterday (12th Sunday, December 2016), JB-Hifi was doing a sale of 20% which made the price even more… Read more
appealing. However today as of writing this review in its aftermath, the 20% discount was removed and according to the store where I bought this from today; told me that the 20% discount was for all GPS navigation systems and ran until yesterday.... Gee how convenient and displeased of missing out despite a screen capture that I took this morning???
Nevertheless, I bought it any way and two sales people tried to sell me additional warranty that I just couldn't be bothered after the initial disappointment. Another reason I bought it, was not because I needed it in the first place; since I already have a paid subscription for an Android-based GPS application for my Samsung smart phone in addition to one of my cars which had a built-in GPS system.
I bought it as a gift for some one who didn't have one.
Some of the bugs where some product reviewers made for the MY550LMT have in part been corrected in the repackaged MY560LMT model.
When I turned on the device, it was actually very easy to use:
LIKES:
- takes about 20 to 25 seconds to load from power start-up to navigation menu
- responsive interface in between screens and actions (when it works)
- easy to navigate (sort of for a first-time user but not stranger to GPS systems in general)
- easy to add addresses and customise
- bluetooth connectivity (works but takes a while to connect, depends on device connected)
- can be connected via USB to Mac or PC
- has a memory slot
- comes with every thing you need to connect to your car and literally plug 'n play mentality.
DISLIKE:
- cheesy 1990s graphics
- some interface buttons have to be pressed repeatedly for it to respond
- buttons could be a little more intuitive
- don't like the accessories that come with the box such as connecting mounts to your car - looks cheap and nasty.
