MY570LMT - defective - useless – Worked ok for a few months. After that the screen started playing up. It starts up as it should but within a few minutes the screen become full of vertical digital lines and the GPS crackles. When that happens it cannot be reset or switched off. I have reset it several times; updated it using the NavDesk a few times. Nothing works. I got it new as… Read more

a present, so I don't have the receipt to activate the warranty. The unit is now useless. I have a MY300 LMT on the other car, it works well.

Disappointed – Maps around freeway junctions seem not to be always accurate. Battery does not seem to hold its charge after three years of service and regular map upgrades, despite continuous connection in the car. It takes a long time to connect to the satellites. Frequent re-sets are needed. This is the worst of the Navman range I have used since about 2012. Show details

Absolute piece of junk – Regularly freezes up and requires plugging it into a computer and using the original disk to do a smart recovery to get it working again. Now it has caused the battery to go flat in my van because i didnt notice it had frozen and didnt automatically turn off causing the battery to drop low enough that i couldn't start the engine. Would never buy anything from Navman again. Show details

Very disappointed – This is my third Navman, the first one I purchased was made in New Zealand, absolutely loved it. It’s nearly 12 years old and still working. 2 Garmin gps in between. Both still working. All old maps. I bought the MY570lt because of the life time maps, the first one constantly lost gps signal, then started freezing up. Took it back. The replacement… Read more

still looses signal but then finds it again. Must have a poor antenna because both Garmin gps work fine in the same car in the same locations. Yes I did all the updates as suggested by the tech. They tell me some types of windscreens are a problem, it’s just an old Prado nothing fancy. When this one dies I am going back to. Garmin, they are dearer, but for me they have been streets ahead, pardon the pun.

Ok but often inaccurate – Its Ok but its distance measurements are often well out. It tells you an intersection / crossroad / rail crossing / red light camera etc, is coming up and they have already been passed. Occasionally it will say keep to the right (or left) lane and the screen shows the opposite. I have ended up in the wrong lane and taken the wrong turn before… Read more

because of this "glitch". Since I updated the maps recently, the screen now locks up every other day and I have to wait for it to fire up again. Planned obsolescence I think. Same as Apple screwing around with their updates to make their old phones go slower. Free lifetime updates? When I enquired about this, I was told its only for 4 years. It would appear that is its life. Had a Tom Tom before, with paid map updates, it lasted 5 years and then failed spectacularly. Strange thing was that it failed 2 days after an update. Maybe next time, I will go Garmin. The Navman is about 2 years old now.

Navman disaster – I bought a NavmanMY570LMT to replace my previous Navman which expired (the screen showed catastrophic failure???). The new Navman has also expired today. Obviously doesn’t like the Darwin heat! I have opened the new one for 1 month. The unit turns on but only shows lines after the original Navman photo. Will never touch Navman again.

Navman Driveduo SUV with Truck Maps – Maps going from Sydney to Nambucca or west to Dubbo from Sydney are absolutely useless. Keeps trying to send you on an alternative route that doesn't exist. Driving around Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane - "USELESS" keeps popping messages and changing routes due to apparent delays that either don't exist or the alternate route will be longer anyway.… Read more

Can't turn this feature off. Truck maps option - waste of time. Constantly takes me down roads with low bridges (less than 4.3mtrs) or that are 3 ton limited.

Complained to support. Got an email recommending an update. Navdesk won't work on Mac OS 10.13 or above so can't do an update.

Junk – Was given new 570LMT. it had so many faults, screen kept going off, reset that many times lost stored points, won't maintain charge in car. Turns off and wont turn on. Went from Victoria to NT it turned off half way never to turn on again. Damn thing going into junk shop. Waste of money. .Bought a Garmin in Alice Springs. GREAT.

The road less travelled – Purchased this unit at the last minute without doing any research. My fault. I use a Mac with OSX. The desktop software is scandalously useless. 90% of the time it cannot recognise the GPS unit when it is connected and the drive showing on the desktop. Then when if/it does and you try to update the maps... Well lets just say that despite… Read more

working with computers in the IT industry since the early 1980's - this task is just ridiculously impossible.

Used it on a recent trip through Victoria. The volume is not speed sensitive so does not increase in line with the concurrent car noise. In the town of my destination it sent me on a wild goose chase through the industrial zone, which I later discovered was bypassed about 8 years ago. Coming home well - lets just say I saw parts of Victoria that I had only ever read about. Speed zones and school zones are "interesting".

Still cannot get the little devil to download any new map updates - so looks like I'm stuck with the factory installed rubbish. Did get a firmware update installed - no change AFAIK.

In summary - do NOT buy this troublesome and OSX incompatible GPS unit.
