Money well spent – Over many years, I have owned a few different brands and models of GPS's including built in units. After a disastrous experience with one, I decided to try a Navman MY660LMT as they were on special at that time. Right from the first time I was impressed with this unit. Now, after six years of usage I am even more impressed with the unit and the… Read more · 1
service by Navman. Cannot ever remember being given wrong directions, whether in the city or heading out into rural areas, it is comforting in its directions. The ability to choose the route that suits you from the selection offered is a great feature. Have never been let down with a No GPS warning, the free update of maps every six months is invaluable. Real time traffic warnings is also very handy.
Great mate to have – I have toured from S.A to Queensland taking back roads and my GPS did not let me down Once. I is my mate and helps me out with very clear instructions every person should venture out if out back traveling.Money well spend Pete Show details · 1
Overall, it could be better – Have had the unit for about 3 years. Just completed a 3000 km trip to Townsville and back, and some shortcomings are still apparent. The unit has a terrible battery life when unplugged (about 2 minutes or so). This has always been the case. The unit tends to get lost in city driving, with the map spinning around wildly, as if trying to get another… Read more
satellite lock. Country destinations and roads are no problem. It often announces a turn right or left, just after/after the turn in question. This is very annoying. The device often sends us the long way around to a destination. Altering the route settings appears to make little difference. It defeats me that some maps are so inaccurate. Several roads that I travel frequently still reports the wrong speed limits. I do like the large screen, the points of interest, and finding places such as petrol stations can be quite easy (although the list is inaccurate as some have closed down in the last 2 years, but still show up in a search). And why has the latest Navdesk been made so useless and user unfriendly? Why shouldn't we be able to plan a trip, with waypoints, and download it to the unit? The earlier version seems to have been more user-friendly. Overall, the unit performs the basic job it is meant to do. However, with some program tweaking, it could have been exceptional.
No sound got refund – MY660LMT was great but sound was to low and can not put external speaker and can't even add to Bluetooth only to a Mobil so I took it back and got a refund and we'll find another system With much louder volume Show details
WASTE OF MONEY AND BE PREPARED FOR HELL! – I purchase a new unit every 12-18 months due to the amount of time I spend on the road. This unit would have to be the WORST EVER unit I have used. 200 word or more of the faults this unit has, would not be enough. I have never posted a review, but this unit will drive you to become a nervous reck....stay well away if you trust my judgment. I have… Read more
no problem using these products, it's the unit that's priced attractive but not up to any standard that you would be happy with. Navman, you may sell alot of units, but keeping a repetitive customer with a satisfactory product is the key!
This is a great help – This is the first time we have purchased a GPS for our car and it has turned out to be a great tool. We had tried an old one which left a lot to be desired. This one is simple to use and even for me is easy. Show 2 replies
Works OK, but room for improvement – Pro's: It gets the job done. Relatively cheap. Live traffic without the need for a smart phone connection. Landmark based navigation is useful. Simulated street signs at major intersections is well implemented and quite handy. Interface is simple, clean and easy to use. Maps seem accurate enough, GPS lock is fine, updating is no worse than… Read more
other navigators and installing in to vehicle is easy.
Cons:
Screen lacks contrast and can be hard to see in daylight.
Software is buggy - it occasionally misses telling you about a turn, and the device emits various "bonging" sounds periodically, for no apparent reason.
Speaker is tinny and a bit on the quiet side.
Overall I'm satisfied with this unit, but it's not particularity brilliant. This navigator replaced a Tom Tom unit that was, in almost every respect, way superior to this Navman. However, the Tom Tom was more than double the price, so can't really complain.
Still, I would have happily paid more and bought another Tom Tom, but for the fact that Tom Tom no longer offer live traffic without the use of a connected smart phone.

Terrible but could get be excellent if I get some helpt to download software for MY660LMT – I bought a MY660LMT and followed the instructions to a T. Charged it for eight hours on a PC and could not understand why it was not "charged" at the end. Being old (46), I took it back to the store and the youngster there looked it up on the computer website and informed me that the NAVMAN does not charge to last a long time and the battery is… Read more
only a back up which lasts 20 minutes (I felt like a twit). I was also told not to use a computer as it would not charge as well as through a normal wall socket. I asked where the Micro SD card was and he told me this is only to extend memory (it was on the instruction to insert one of these?) I then asked the kid if I could download the software (this was the next instruction and the package came with a CD). I do not have a CD facility in my new laptops (I think CDs are becoming obsolete?). He said I could buy an extender from the store or go onto the NAVMAN facebook webite to look under "lost disk" and this may lead to the software. I am now trying to find a smarty pants way to find the software. I have now used the product for a day and love it but would really like to download the software (yes I can phone around and find an old person with an old model which has a CD facility but I am too knackered). This is, by the way the second MY660LMT I have had in my possession. The first one I purchased flickered frantically on the first day I used it (the day after I charged it on a PC, and then put into my car with the correct charger). I took it back to the store and they kindly replaced it, but advised I would need to install the software as this may have caused the flickering. I was also advised to make absolutely sure that I charged it through a PC and not on the wall. After three weeks of waiting for it to arrive by courier as promised, I drove to the store (I Iive a distance away), and they apologized profusely and gave me one. The rest starts from the top......
I think that the instructions need to be clearer and the option to download software be easily accessible on the website. By the way, while waiting for the NAVMANS, I have been driving around with my cell phone as a guide and a voice saying GP signal lost. I am happy now. I just need to download the software. Oh, another thing, all navigators do not suck onto my windscreen properly (or is this just me?)

The most inaccurate maps you could ever think of – operating this unit is perfect, the mat screen is easy to see but I wish it had Garmin / Google maps as this thing cant even guide me around a Sydney block, had me attempting to drive on the beach at Stanwell park and this is supposed to be the latest mapping. They really need to bite the bullet and use Garmin, tom tom or Google maps as all 3 are so much more accurate and actually use ROAD maps from the 21st century.
