This is the worst purchase that i have done – This is the worst purchase that i have made. if someone rings my doorbell it takes 45 seconds to two minutes to render the app’s camera view so I can interact. It’s been this way since the day I got it

Purchased in at The Good Guys Physical store for $200.

They are finally getting the doorbell better after a year of updating – Absolute rubbish, the google door bell has a issue with samsung galaxy phones, you cant really hear the person at your door and they struggle to hear you. I have tried 5 different phones, change the door bell over 3 times!

Crap product record only last 3 hours – Google wants you to pay extra and buy the monthly subscription, otherwise the camera will only hold the records for the last 3 hours and will delete them after that time. That means that if something happened in the middle of the night you cannot view the video the following morning as the videos get erased every 3 hours unless you pay an extra fee every month. Get other doorbell, not this one.

Purchased in for $350.

Terrible design, faulty and Google won't replace - Do NOT Buy – I got a Google Nest Doorbell and the design was so bad that it kept falling off the mount. After a week it broke and Google refuses to do anything.

Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $328.

Good camera. Not a good doorbell – Looks good. Had our electrician install it for us. Hooked up to the google home system, so our minis announce when somebody rings the doorbell. Sadly, this happens well after they’ve actually pressed the button. Familiar face recognition works maybe 50% of the time. Speaker volume at the door is absurdly loud. But worst of all, if we aren’t home, and we try to answer remotely - well I don’t know what that’s like because it’s never worked. App hangs for 5-10 seconds, then loads the camera view for another 10 seconds at least. whoever was there has usually walked away by then. Useless. Support from nest is shocking - no, the problem is not our network, we have super fast NBN. Functions quite nicely as a camera - timeline in the app is nice. But you pay (even after the hefty initial outlay) to have any of it kept. We didn’t want to, but since we can’t answer remotely when we aren’t home, we at least want to be able to watch a recording after the fact to see who it was and what they did. Should have bought a Ring. Or even a regular doorbell!!
