I had no trouble in setting up the camera, however as per previous reviews, I found the view from the camera to my IPHONE small, I was expecting the size of the picture to fill the full pace of my IPHONE as per the photo on the box that I received the camera in. Is there any updates or suggestions to enable me to achieve a larger view on my iphone Show details
Terriffic – I’d been interested in this reversing camera for a while but the price was a bit out of reach. Then it appeared to be going out of production soi bought what appeared to be the last one at Supercheap Auto. Extremely easy to download the app, connect the tablet to the cameras wifi and use. Worked perfectly first time. The wife (Minister for Love… Read more · 1
and War) is very happy that the state of the panel’s on our Motorhome is not dependant on us doing it over the radio/telephone! Well worth the money (even at full price).
Oricom - What is replacing it?.
Image Freezes and Poor Resolution – Lucky to get two stars. While I wouldn't class it as terrible, the fact that the image repeatedly freezes makes the unit unfit for purpose. Have had it for over six months and have used it on 6 different expeditions. The unit works fine if there is an unimpeded view between the camera and the phone. E.g. when I first tested it on my lawn (no car… Read more
or caravan between camera and phone) I could get a clear signal that was in excess of 30 metres. The distance between the camera at the back of my 19 ft caravan and my phone in the cradle is 36 ft (or 11 m), well under the 15 m that Oricom claims should be sweet. My friend has just returned from doing a lap of Oz over the last 4.5 months. The distance between his Oricom camera and phone is less than a metre longer than my set up. He called Oricom asking if they sell a signal repeater, which they don't. They also offered no reason as to why his unit constantly freezes. Even when the image isn't freezing, the other disappointing feature is the picture quality. The image on the screen via the app is small, and despite having an iPhone that can display 4k images, the Oricom camera is similar in quality to that of their baby camera monitors; images can appear pixelated. Resolution, colour and contrast are all below average.
Works awsome every time – Soon as picked up my camera and sat in my car, it worked with in 1 min , that easy , tested it that night in the dark, worked great , played with it many times and it always connects, do wish they would add a function to turn on , off from the app , other than that it’s perfect Show details · 1
Not good – I have a 21 foot caravan and I am very disappointed that it works only very intermittently over that distance. Really you should be advising max distance to less than 21 foot or develop a wifi booster for it like the TPSM monitor Show details

Great product – I had been looking for a portable camera like this for a while. Found the Oricom camera and it met all of my needs. Love mine, recently purchased. Quality product, solid and well made. Will make backing my boat & anything else with ease and I can now do on my own without worrying I'm going to back into something. Show details · 1
NOT JUST A REVERSING CAMERA – A great camera when your mirrors can't see what you want. I put it on a caravan park slab to show me the side view of the slab and my caravan tyre position. Rear mounted camera on the van doesn't show the side view and the car was at an angle so I could not see the slab in my mirrors. Saved scuffed Tyres on the 70mm raised concrete slab. great to mount of the 4 x 4 door temporarily to see the position of your Tyres when off roading to avoid rocks and holes. No need for the spotter to get all muddy.
Made my life easier when reversing my trailer – I wanted a solution to help me when reversing my trailer or when i have my bike rack attached. This camera allowed both. The magnet is strong and attaches to the trailer. Makes it easy to move between trailers and the bike rack. The parking space markings make it easy to get an idea where the trailer was going to end up. I did less backwards and… Read more · 1
forwards when backing up and could easily see everything behind me which is useful in a holiday park with kids running around. I nearly backing into the spots first time.
The camera works both day and night. The IR makes it easy to see at night. Found it easy to connect to my mobile phone. Only recommendation is to ensure the camera has been on for a minute before opening the application on your phone.
Highly Recommended - No need to pay for installation of a fixed reversing camera – Very impressed with the Oricom WRC001 Wireless Reversing Camera. We purchased this camera as a replacement for yet another failed aftermarket, fixed reversing camera on our 120 Prado. We were fed up with paying auto sparkies to supply and install cameras that always seemed to fail when we needed them most (hitching up the caravan). We… Read more · 1
purchased the camera directly from Oricom and delivery to Western Australia was quick.
On receipt, I unpacked the camera and plugged it in to charge using the cable supplied. I then downloaded the Safety Eye app (QR code in the instruction manual) to my iPhone and, following the instructions, connected my phone to the camera using a wifi connection (from the camera, not my home wifi network).
Both the app and the camera are straightforward to use.
The camera can be mounted to any surface either by using the magnetic adjustable bracket or heavy-duty velcro (both supplied with the camera). We opted to use the magnet mount, which performed very well on top of our Toyota tow hitch (this was the perfect placement for a good view of the tow ball).
Whilst driving to our easter getaway destination, we discussed the merits of the camera and agreed it could also be attached to the roof or top of the back door of the car to view the hitch from a different angle. We haven't tried this yet, since the first location we chose worked very well.
My husband is usually the household member who has "technical issues", however, on this occasion, using the camera was without issue.
In our opinion, this is money well spent - we have been spared having to pay for the services of an auto sparky to supply and install the camera, and we now have the benefit of a portable reversing camera - if we change vehicle at any time, it's not an issue.
Best on the market – Fantastic quality camera.Used in our horse float. Excellent range and clarity. Cannot fault unit. Long battery life. A must for caravaners and horse people. Show details · 1
