Need help. Which are the override terminal? I am still junior in wirings. Thank you
Great product for the price – This product is very easy to install and works like a treat Show details
Great product for steel line garage door – Used this on a steel line 1200sd sectional panel garage door. Can also be used with the 800. Bargain at $47.50 from Bunnings compared to similar products. Works great. Secret is to add and pair it to your wifi via the grid connect app on your phone before putting it up as you need to have it as close to your modem to pair. Takes a little… Read more
bit of trial to get the sensors in the right spot. Best position for me was at the top centre of your door , try use existing small bolts already used for your door to attach sensor brackets to avoid drilling holes in your door and wall.. I bent the brackets using a vice to get the perfect angle position for the sensors. Hide the wire on the top of the door track and zip tie the excess near the motor. When connecting the module to the garage door motor the steel line has four connector ports already there. The two module black and red wires go in the black and red ports on the motor. The two on the left side of the four ports receiver and one next to it.
Pretty Good, But Not Perfect – This will allow you to open and close your roller door remotely with your phone, or with your voice using Google Home etc. Initial setup is pretty tricky, adding the device to the Wi-Fi network is finicky at best. I eventually got it working but I'm not sure what I did differently when it did finally work. Operation is quite straight forward -… Read more
press the button on your phone and the door opens / closes. You can also automate it so that when your phone gets close / far away it opens / closes without you having to do anything. I haven't tried this feature to comment though.
The voice control using Google Home sounds like a good thing, however you then need to enter a PIN manually to prevent thieves from doing it without permission, however this defeats the purpose of voice control.
Overall - good, but not perfect
Surprisingly good! – I have several Grid Connect products, and thought I'd give the Roller Door controller a go. At $46 from Bunnings, I was prepared to take a chance. The first one took me a solid 15 minutes to wire up and connect the controller, and another 2 hours to install the sensors and muck about with a tube of Liquid Nails to glue the sensor and cable down,… Read more
and i made a real mess. The second one I did took 45 minutes in total because I knew what I was doing. For me, the advantage is the notification when the door is up, and I can see remotely if the door is closed. Occasionally in the cold weather, my doors stick when closing and go back up. With this prodect I never have to wonder if the door is closed, and it works seamlessly with Google Home - you have to link the Grid Connect app. Note, Grid Connect only works with 2.4 GHz wifi. The only negative is that my phone has to be unlocked to use "Hey, Google..." voice command to open it - I think this is a security feature. Great product, I recommend it.
Good product but poor instructions – Had to do a lot of research to figure out how to connect this to a garage roller door. Manual says connect the actual motor but it actually connects to the controller box. Here are the instructions for Gliderol Roller door but should work for most brands. Identify the terminals makes PB/OSC or symbol shown in image and a ground connector GND.… Read more
Doesn’t matter which colour wire (black or red) from smart device goes to which terminal. And it works like a charm after that. See the pictures attached to this post.
Orion Garage Door Opener – Excellent product. I bought 2 for my double garage. Well made, sturdy and very simple to fit. Works really well but would be handy if the app was enabled for Apple CarPlay to open and close the garage whilst in the car. Show details
Perfect but 1 big concern – Works perfect it just took some time to connect to my wifi network properly. Tried geofencing today to close the garage door works perfect but unfortunately the minimum range you can set is 100mtr which is way too much in my opinion. "We should be able adjust it to say 20mtr or 50 mtr". Show details

Perfect except for 1 thing – I really like the whole concept and it works really well and was extremely easy to set up. But there is very little information regarding actual set up which was why it took me so long to make the initial purchase. I had to make a few modifications to suit my Garage door as you can see in the photos but that was quite simple. the only issue I… Read more
have with it is you can't open the door without your phone being unlocked/open. I bought this hoping to utilise it while riding my bike and not having to stop and fumble for a remote, especially in the rain. So technically you have to break the law if you want to open the Garage Door on your return home. As for the Package they supply everything even a double adaptor which I was surprised to find. You should be able to follow the photos and see how easy it is to set up and I simply had to wire it into the side (speaker ports I call them). My Garage Door is a Steel-Line SD-800.

Works Quite Well - Orion Grid Connect Smart Garage Door Controller with Sensor – I recently purchased the Grid Connect Orion Garage Door Opener at Bunnings for $42.99. Upon opening the package I was happily surprised that it came with its own USB cable and power adapter, the product itself feels sturdy and well made. The product box also contained a double adapter which was very surprising. When setting up the product onto… Read more
my home Wi-Fi, I had to change my Wi-Fi settings from smart 2.4 & 5 ghz combined, to turning of the 5ghz band and only have 2.4 on, otherwise it would not complete the pairing process etc. Some 2.4 devices can cope with both bands on and successfully finish setup, this product could not. Now that its all setup I can reset my Wi-Fi to the dual band setup.
As is usual with these types of things it came with a 'reed' switch (essentially a magnetic sensor) so the controller can tell when the door is open or closed, these can be difficult to place and you need to be a little creative so the sensor attached to the wall can be in a position that is lose enough to read the sensor attached to the rolla door. They also need to be placed at the bottom of the door and door frame.
The Grid Connect app easily linked to Google and I can voice command the door to open or close, and the Google Hub Max screen will also show the door state, I can also ask Google to show me the doors state to check if its open or closed. The only thing on the Google Home App screen it has the Grid Connect icon for settings, I haven't to been able to get it to be a switch like other 'works with Google' products I have, still working on that, so the app icon opens the Google Home Device settings for Grid Connect being linked, but nothing else.
The Grid Connect app will send an Offline notification when need be and also checks the door state and will let you know if its been left open, which is a user definable time. Also once connected to Google, to use Google via screen or voice command the Grid Connect app required me to put in a 4 digit passcode for use when opening the garage door from Google, but not when closing. Im going to see if I can get it to work without that, so will see. The app will also provide a notification each time the door is opened or closed, the funny thing is that it doesn't vary what it says, i.e the notification does not say that the door is closed or open, but rather just the one statement 'Open Notifications'.
I can also open or close the garage door from anywhere as long as I have internet connection which is great if I'm away and family/friend need to enter the garage.
Im extremely happy with it so far and its well recommended.
