Hi - I have just setup my elderly inlaws with a new Samsung Smart TV which I have connected to their existing Panasonic DMR-HW220 HDD Recorder. Everything functions as normal however on the Samsung Smart TV, it is recognising the HDMI Input from the HDD Recorder as Sky TV New Zealand and therefore displays the SkyTV NZ app logo on the TV Main Screen. I have renamed the HDMI Input however this did not change the SkyTV NZ application Logo. I have searched all settings on the system, completed the mandatory google search but so far unable to identify anything to assist with change the App logo.
Any ideas ?

Hi, I have 7 DMR HW 220 units and several play up from time to time. I have found reformating the disc sometimes works. Often leaving the one in my second home set up to record programs every week can fill the hard drive which seems to muck things up. I was wondering if anyone has tried cleaning a laser or something else to restore the hard drive? Or is it possible to put a new type electronic memory card ? We watch all tv through the HW 220. I cant stand adds so watching direct drives me crazy.

When I go to the TV guide screen, everything goes blank & I have to switch off & on to get the picture back. Any ideas please?

Thank you for your response. I have since looked on various forums & one told me to reset to factory default mode. I did this & I also set it to travel mode & again default, then switched off for several hours. Upon restart everything works okay, hopefully this will help someone else. Regards, Melvyn.
my recorder stopepd displaying the TV Guide yesterday - I just get a completely blank screen. I haven't tried the Other/Initialise option as it does not make clear if recordings will be lost. Any advice appreciated?

Suddenly, unit is only displaying in black & white....that's EPG and recorded programs. Have looked at settings but can't get colour back....any suggestions?

I disconnected the aerial to my hard drive for 24 hours and when I reconnected the HD it has no signal. I have now replaced all the connections and it still won’t get signal. The TV works fine when connected directly into the aerial port but not when going through the HD. Can anyone help as to what the problem might be?

The HDD says it has over 30hrs free but when we try to record it says not enough space - I think its something to do with the number of 'titles' recorded. How can i free up this unsed space without deleting recordings?

I don't suppose it's possible to get a DMR-HW220 bought in Australia to work in the UK?
HDD says "not enough space on HDD" I have initalised again but it is still showing as full. Hope you can help.
I think I’m having the same problem
I have initialised "Default and Shipping settings" And HDD is empty of stored programs but still says it is full?

My Panasonic DMR-HW220 is six years old - never had a problem in all that time. I only ever record T.V. shows for watching later - nothing else. Last week I recorded a movie, watched part of it the following night. The next morning the remote would not work. The batteries were new, however, took them out and replaced with new batteries. Remote did'nt work. I bought a new remote from a spare sparts specialist and it did't work either. Can someone, or Panasonic help me. Is there an honest technician who would know what could have caused this. Thank you very much.

Hi, i just brought a DMR-hw220 second hand and PVR comes up with a message saying lost connection with hard drive and shuts down, and makes a ticking noise I’ll try to record it. This happens every time I turn it on.
