Good for its time – This is a VHS VCR with a DVD player. At the time of writing (2017), the unit is about 30 years old. The below review is on a fully functioning unit. You can copy DVD to VHS and record from the TV. I think you could record from the TV while playing a DVD. Like most other VCR's, you can record one TV program while watching another on your TV. The recordings can be setup for a single record or repeated recording at the same time on a daily or weekly basis. I don't recall how many could be setup.

Long play is available, which roughly doubles the recording capacity of the tape.

The TV tuner is analogue, so is now obsolete in Australia.

The TV output was either channel 0 or 1. There was also RGB / Component output.

Most units would probably now be be recycled.

The DVD player in mine recently stopped working (I had not used the unit for a number of years). I believe that the VHS part was still working as a friend used it to transfer from tapes to computer.

I apologise for my error in the age of the unit. I got it mixed up with a VCR unit I had years earlier. The other review has a more accurate date of 2005, about 12 years old at the time of my above review.

If you want a copy of the manual, please go to a Panasonic website / address like :

or do your own Internet search. I used : manual panasonic "nv-vp33"

I believe that I purchased the unit in the early to mid 1990's. This makes it now around 25 years old.

Good – If you want a simple DVD/MP3 player and/or VCR, this is the combo player for you. Easy to use, user-friendly navigation menus, etc. I've never had a single problem with this model at all and the easy to read full counter LED display is a treat. I recommend this model (fully operational of course with the correct remote) to anyone wanting it for the bedroom or guest room. MP3/CD/DVD DVD-Ram compatible playback and DVD-VHS copy feature (DC). Cool silver tone finish, easy function remote. Zoom feature and dialog enhancer. None so far, since it is not a DVD recorder, it cannot copy VHS to DVD, but can copy the other way. Reasonable model for 2005.
