Best tv I ever owned – Never never ever had a problem with this tv ever Show 3 replies
Has been a great tv – We have had out Panasonic plasma since 2010 and it has not missed a beat. Still a great picture and it has not let us down in any way. Would definitely buy another Panasonic TV in the future. By todays standards the picture and sound are still great, it does not have ARC or a usb input however for a tv that is this old we are not looking to update yet.
Great TV – I guess this review is a bit late as we've had this TV for about 5-6 years now and it is now discontinued (like all other plasmas) but it's been a great set. A little washed out in the daytime as most plasmas are but we rarely turn it on in the day-time anyway. It's still head and shoulders above any LCD offering that I've seen in terms of… Read more
picture quality but from what I've seen of the OLED TV's so far they are shaping up to be a worthy replacement when the time comes.
Goodbye Panasonic - Never again !! – Had the same experience as others Panasonic HO didn't want to help at all and sent me to a local repairer and wanted $600 to get it fixed . What a joke !! Never buying that again and would never recommend anyone to do the same either . Stay away from Panasonic TV's
Discrimination in Australia – I have owned two 55 inch Panasonic plasmas over 4 years and Both failed with Power supply issues. I now learn that their is a secret warranty extension for the 7 blinks of death in the USA but Panasonic Australia refuse to honour this. Do not buy Panasonic
The best TV I've ever had – I bought this TV back in early 2009. I read up about plasma vs LED, and plasma was certainly still king in terms of picture quality, and in many ways it still is. Although it's not being manufactured by Panasonic any more, and other companies look to soon follow suit due to customers choosing LED instead. It's a shame because plasma is still the… Read more
better looking technology, but compared to an LED TV in a store it doesn't look as bright and shiny. On the surface an LED TV looks better, but the black levels don't compare to plasma, and things can look a bit cartoonish compared to the natural looking plasma. Put it this way, I wouldn't trade my Panasonic plasma for any LED TV. This TV has an incredible picture, it's amazingly dynamic in colour, with bright whites, and thick blacks. Action scenes look great too. It's a TV for watching blu-ray movies and TV shows in a darkened room. It's not that suitable for a bright room with lots of windows. Yes plasmas do use more power than LED TVs, but this model does include improvements in efficiency. I see the remaining difference as a tradeoff with the picture quality.
This TV is about 6 years old so it's well and truly out of production, but it's done a great job and I hope it continues to for many years to come. If you are looking for a second hand plasma now that they are harder to come by then this is a great choice. After this TV has run it's course I would hope to buy an OLED TV, when the technology has matured.
excellent tv – We've had this tv for 5 years now with no problems until a couple of days ago when there was a ticking noise. I removed the back panel and found a buildup of dust around the cooling fans which I cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and small brush. No more problems. All fan cooled electronics will probably be subject to these issues. Other than that this… Read more
tv has provided excellent service with great picture quality; only noticeable improvement in latest Panasonic plasmas ( superior black levels, smart features etc. ) picture quality, reliability. sound quality not great
Very Unhappy! – Spending so much on a TH-P50G10A, you would expect it to last longer than 4 years! Has the same dreaded 7 blinks of death problem just like many many many others. Just search "Panasonic 7 blinks of death". Contacted the Repair Centre and was told it will be over $600 to change 3 boards, I knew beforehand from all the internet forums. Not worth… Read more
it and too expensive to repair something at half the cost of buying a new set. The sad thing is I thought Panasonic has a good name, got many other appliances, just bought a new Panasonic fridge but this has me turned right off the Panasonic brand in the future for sure as the Customer Service trotted out the usual scripted BS referring to Repair Centre and was palmed off. For those that are happy, just wait until you have a problem, like me!
Have a look here, someone's even created an FB page!:
[url removed] Picture quality, not much else. Poor quality especially the electronics by the looks of it.
Excellent – Have owned our 42 inch plasma TV since Nov 2009 with no problems. TV was on special at Myer with a bonus cinema system through Panasonic included in the price. Plenty of good features on the TV such as an HDMI input to connect to a PC. Took out an additional 3 year warranty just in case, as the salesperson advised that if anything at all goes… Read more
wrong in that time Panasonic will fix it - even if a button breaks. I would highly recommend this TV. Excellent picture quality at a very affordable price. We looked at other brands in plasma and LCD and found that the Panasonic Viera HD gives a very good picture and true colours. Excellent for fast action such a sports. This was our first plasma TV so we looked into it carefully before deciding on the Panasonic and we are not disappointed.
Great picture,But – Purchased tv july 2010,all going well until the tv would not turn on! The dreaded red light flashing problem which after a web search is a very common problem with panasonic plasma tv's.This model panel(G13) has a great picture but unreliable poor quality chinese made. Perfect picture when it worked! Expensive, poor quality, unreliable, poor warranty service.
I wouldn't ever recommend Panasonic tv' after having the same issues after only 2000hrs… Read more (+1 reply)

I've been waiting for the prices to come down for a long time and now i finally up graded just in time for the world cup. Can not fault the picture even through foxtels SD box its exceptional. and of course the HD is up another level. Watching sport is fantastic. I… Read more
would recommend this to anyone. Even with my 25 year old antenna most of the channels picked up automatically. SBS and ABC I had to tune in manually but once I got the frequency numbers it was no problem. Sound is ok too. highly recommended TV Picture Quality, Easy set up, Price No swap Function and no picture in picture(PIP)
Excellent – I love this television, it has all the features a standard night time tv watcher like myself needs and everything is of an excellent quality. The picture is great and the sound is fantastic. I didn't expect much when I bought it apart from a bigger screen, but the resolution is fantastic and watching HD tv and blu-ray is such a pleasure. and action movies in particular are wonderful. The look of the television is also really good, we always get comments when people walk into the lounge room. I would not hesitate to recommend a HD viera to anyone. Quality
Excellent – A great quality unit on par with the highly-reputable Pioneer panels. The Panasonic gives a more than impressive large display - overall I feel this was an excellent purchase particularly as the price of these panels is becoming more and more competitive in Australia. I will certainly be buying Panasonic electronics again on the basis of this… Read more
performer. Bought this beautiful plasma panel for my investment property and it displays a fantastic crisp vibrant picture - these Neo Panasonics are known widely to be second only to Pioneer, which incidentally are no longer available in Australia. The remote functionality is comprehensive, easy to use with an excellent on-screen program guide. Excellent reproduction and refresh - especially for fast moving sports action. Contrast and brightness is excellent with natural colours. This is one good plasma television mate! The unit consumes a fair bit of electricity so be prepared for a few extra dollars on your regular power bill. But the enjoyment factor associated with this television receiver makes up for the additional expense.

Know better, choose better.
Good – My sister has this plasma television set at her place and I find that the image quality is fantastic. It is easily one of the best screens I have seen in terms of panel quality. The design is a black plastic case which looks very plastic like. Panasonic could have done alot better on this. The remote control is of a fantastic built… Read more
quality.
Compared to my Samsung Series 7 plasma which has noticable buzzing the panasonic no noticable buzzing when listening from the front (you can hear buzzing from behind the unit).
My sister's Panasonic unit did come with one dead pixel which Panasonic said that it would not reapir as it needed several before they would fix anything. If you are to purchase this plasma or any television at all I would suggest that you get it from Dick Smith as there is a 14 day no questions asked return policy. Great image quality Design not the most visially appealing. No inbuilt media player. Bad dead pixel warranty.
Excellent – I would recommend these Panasonic Full HD televisons. Easy to use with a good picture. The warranty is also one of the best. No replacing the old screen, just a whole new tv. Cannot get better than that. These later model Panasonics use less power and generate less heat than the previous model. The remote control is great. The information… Read more
button and tv guide is a real time saver. We purchased another Panasonic Tv for our kitchen just so we would have the same guide. I have used other brands remotes and guides and they don't compare to Panasonic. This tv is a replacement. The 50 inch Full HD we purchased ended up with a dead line of pixels in the middle of the screen. The Tv was replaced under warranty with this new one. I think the old Tv's picture was better but thats hard to quantify. The new one is much cooler and uses less power. The old one also looked better, as the styling has changed a little.
Upgrade from Medion – The new Panasonic 50" full HD was an upgrade to my former Medion 42" LCD TV The picture is good in contrast, sharp and best of all very bright. In comparison with other Plasma TVs in that size it is one of the most affordable units available. The black frame design is not very fancy but classic and appears in good quality. After switching it on it takes a while until the first picture and channel is visible.
Excellent – Got this device while the Christmas promotion was on. I have hooked: x-Box (classic) running XBMC via s-video and it looks great Foxtel IQ1 using scart to component cables which doesn't look much different the composite XBox 360 via HDMI which looks amazing when MW2 is played on it The prices of these TVs have been heavily discounted. went with this TV as it offered the newer NeoPDP screen instead of the older 'S' series. The unit does not include the viera link capability to watch you tube clips and picassa web albums (this is available in the 'V' series and the 15A model which supersedes this one).
I have hooked this unit up a my logitech harmony and found that there is a significant delay in turning the device on before the unit is responsive to additional commands.
The TV tuner is excellent and the upscaling seems pretty good. Vibrant colour
Swivel stand
Multiple inputs Only stereo pass through of HDMI audio through tos-link cable
Utilitarian design
Delay turing on
