Best Panasonic plasma ever – Great picture quality especially on DVD movies, and has been very reliable, mine is now 8 years old and looks and works as new. The only negatives compared to todays flat screens, is a little higher power consumption and no Wi Fi smart connection. This TV will not be changed until it finally fails. Show details
Was good, and then it just got black screen of death. Hardly used – I had this tv from new $2,000. It worked well over the few months i was at home over the previous 8 years due to being a mining worker. Then it got a black screen one day while plugging in my laptop into the HDMI port on tv. Since then, dead. Not possible to view any recorded content on other devices. Locked to this tv. Sound is fairly good,… Read more
picture is good, reliability is questionable as evidenced by other reviews.
My panasonic sound system $1,000 started turning off by itself when it was 13 months old, and Panasonic Australia couldnt give a damn. But thats a topic for another review.
So guess what, Panasonic has lost me as a customer, and I was a fan once upon a time.
Treat your customers with contempt, and they will treat you the same in the future.
I wish Panasonic no joy.
Does what i need it for – Picture quality is good. The built in speakers are ok but if u have up too loud they vibrate. Has 2 HDMI ports. This is an absolute value for-money product. The quality at this price is worth every cent spent on it. I've had it for 9 years and its still going strong has only had one repair which was the on and off button. Show details
Treat for movie lovers..! – After reading a lot and also talking to sales reps at Good Guys, HN and Dick Smith, I decided to buy 50' Panasonic plasma tv instead of 50' LED LCD. Very happy to say, it was a good decision. Fantastic black, no blurs and such a fine print. Watching 3D is a feast.
Outstanding TV. No problems, still love picture quality – We've had this TV nearly 3 years now and it continues to perform flawlessly. Colours, blacks and whites are all displayed better than LED currently available. Bluray just outstanding, even old converted movies like Star Wars and Star Trek. Only disappointment is sound quality from speakers, it's tinny but that's probably to be expected from such skinny speakers. When it matters I just put sound through AV receiver.
Piece of Rubbish – Had for 2+ years. Just heard a crack, then boom. TV wont turn on. Its has never been moved ever. been sitting on the same cabinet the whole time.
How to confuse a Panasonic Top of the Line TV for a Lemon – Warning. Do not buy this tv unless you want to experience bad customer service from Panasonic. We bought our television after much research over several months and foolishly believed Panasonic televisions were a good, reliable company that made good products. Just outside of warranty, we heard a crack and explosion and sound of pebbles pouring… Read more
inside of TV. We did not see these but the TV continually crackled when we used it. It was bought on 26/11/2010 from Harvey Norman Erina. Panasonic technicians said to us that TVs only have a shelf life of four yrs. but ours lasted only 2yrs. When we spent $5000 on this we thought it would last at least 10. Panasonic offered to replace it if we paid $2500 on top of what we spent to get it looked at. They have said it is their final offer. They do not care about their customers only their profits. They are profit driven and customer loyalty means nothing to them. I have warned my friends and family and now I am warning you. Do Not Buy This TV.
It is faulty. Expensive. The ACCC says for the price we paid, it should last at least 8-10 years. Poor service from Panasonic.
It seems to me that everything made to day just isn't designed to last for 10 years plus, as… Read more
Big, Beautiful and Brilliant – After a lot of internet research and going to all the tv retailers I chose the Panasonic Viera TH-P50VT20A. I've owned this tv for a couple of years now and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Originally I wanted a Pioneer Kuro but when I heard Panasonic bought the plasma technology from Pioneer I opted to buy the Panasonic instead. I was… Read more
fortunate enough to do a side by side comparison at JB Hi-Fi and there was only the slightest difference in image quality and a $1000 difference in price. JB Hi-Fi had all their TVs along one wall which made choosing one easy; the Viera plasma was visually arresting and made other televisions pale in comparison. Two years on and three different house moves the Panasonic is still going strong (I've had a terrible experience with a Samsung TV always breaking and it needing to be repaired three times under warranty). Not this plasma though; it's awesome. The picture quality is brilliant! JB Hi-Fi damaged the front-side of the TV in transit.
Fantastic 3d experience – I was reading a lot comparing prices finally had two choices Samsung vs Panasonic then decided to buy Panasonic 3D because of quality + award winner. PANASONIC Viera TH-P50 Full HD 3D plus i bought 3 3D-glasses, watching lion king 3d amazing experience. Did enjoy very much. Reliable but expensive but worth it 3D glasses expensive need to buy for visitors as well
A massive 65" egg shell in your living room – I don't want to go into much details as a pre owner of 2 TVs TH-P65VT20A Full-HD 3D Digital. Following are my points. 1. 3D eye wear needs batteries and it is very uncomfortable design. 2. 3D quality is inferior to LG 3D TV please go to a store by yourself and compare side by side. e.g. When I watch a under ocean movie the LG one you can… Read more
feel you are in the space within the movie but Panasonic one it just feels like you are looking at a aquarium.
3. The screen is massive there is no warning in user guide about how fragile is this screen. If you wipe the screen it may get crack.
Needless to say I got both my TV units cracks due to no reason but both under warranty and Panasonic refused to assist me.
4. Panasonic customer care is hopeless.
5. Tricky user guide says you can record to a USB HDD but aboslutely hopeless you can record only the channel and it is the one you are watching and recorded content can not be viewed in other devices.
6. Live TV rewind option is hopeless and frustrating as it is too slow and hardly work properly.
Best advise I can give you is don't buy this product it is a quickly done up product for the market when early 3D technology arrived in 2010 and without much quality control or proper user guide and warning with the quality of the screen.
Expensive bad warranty, low quality control,
Blissfully Brilliant Bright and Bold TV! – I am most impressed the in clear and crisp quality in both 2D and 3D watching! I like the idea that you don’t need to purchase expensive 3D dvd’s! Can you believe that there is an option to watch absolutely ANYTHING in 3D? It can be something you’ve recorded or even a standard 2D dvd! Amazing technology in your very own home! Considering the size… Read more
of a 65 inch TV it doesn’t take as much room as one thinks! The design is very well thought and is slim line therefore you can hang it on the wall or push it as far back as possible on a TV cabinet. I use to be a regular at the “Movies”, but since this purchase I haven’t gone! The quality is much better and you truly get a “Gold Class” experience without having to walk out with an EMPTY pocket! I no longer use my laptop on a daily basis! I use this TV! I watch “U-Tube”; Check the news, all in the comfort of my reclining chair! Ability to connect to the internet; Can watch a standard 2D in 3D; Crisp Quality Very expensive up front cost; Poor warranty for a very costly item(paid extra to have an extended warranty); The cost per 3D glasses is expensive.
Love love love this TV – I have had this TV for about 5 months now and love it. We have had no problems and the picture is amazing and the 3D is jaw dropping. The sound is also great. It can take a bit to learn your way around the menu's but that's to be expected from a TV of this rather new technology that gives you so much control over every aspect of sound and picture.… Read more · 1
I love everything about it. Amazing picture quality and great sound. You have full control over every possible aspect of the TV. Its a bit more expensive then other 3D tv's on the market but you get what you pay for.
