I purchased my Pendo tablet 5 years ago. The battery still charges to 100 percent and I have never had a problem – Nice and reliable but can be slow with many apps. Show details

What a waste of money – Bought this item so I could use for my ongoing records of medical events and it worked for a few weeks and when I placed it on charge overnight not only did the charger melted, but also the unit self destructed its self nearly causing a fire. Show details

Error message non starter – I would not even give 1/2 a star. It just keeps starting up with the message....Preparing Automatic Repair .. and it needs to restart, it then restarts with error message 0xc000021a .. can anyone give me a clue to start this heap of rubbish. Had no problems till now – Think I have been pretty lucky have had no problems until now. It charges up turns on but won't load, so after reading other reviews and nearly 2 years down the track its done pretty well. Used for games, and general use, the only disappointment was it didn't have a back camera.  Show details

Great tablet for the kids – We got this tablet free from dodo by joining their insurance and the kids love it. It works perfectly for what they need it for. That is, playing some kids apps and watching kids tube. We also put movies in an SD card so they can watch movies in the car. Great little device.  Show details

Appalling! – Have brought 2 now, the first lasted about 3 months then just went black and never turned on again, thought my then 8year old son must have had a virus in a downloaded game. Second one lasted about 7 months and again just went black for no reason other than that they are a shocking waste of money and time, don't bother!!!  Show details

Birthday present gone wrong – Bought this tablet as a birthday present for my boyfriend as he loves his games and apps. Cannot believe how slow, glitchy and pixelated this device is. So disappointing. It crashes, freezes and stops working all together- not even 4 days old! Was already skeptical of Android devices but this has tipped me over the edge.  Show details

Not impressed – I bought the Pendo 10.1 tablet from Australia Post. I expected it to have a rear camera but unfortunately it does not. I had trouble getting past the set up stage. Australia Post will not refund once the box is open. I'm looking into talking to consumer affairs about a refund as I'm far from impressed.  Show details

Just terrible - do not buy – Bought a Pendo 10” yesterday and it’s awful! Didn’t even get to use it as during set up it repeatedly asked me for my google account details over and over again. Definitely faulty. Returned it today and bought a Lenovo instead. Don’t waste your time or money on this piece of crap.  Show details

Better off without one – Bought one as a Christmas gift and fair to say it lasted not more than a month. Yes it's significantly cheaper than other tablets, but worthless given its quality. Constantly crashes & freezes, can't watch videos, struggles with WiFi connectivity - wouldn't even recommend this for a child. Better of staying on the shop shelves until the manufacturer gets the hint!  Show details

Slow and with possible malware – I am not a big tablet user. If I need mobile apps, my large smartphone does the trick. I bought the Quad-Core 10.1" Android PendoPad primarily for watching videos on a large mobile screen. For that purpose, it worked very well - and the included HDMI port was very handy for putting those videos on a TV, especially if they're viewed via an app that… Read more

doesn't support Chromecast (such as tenplay, 7plus or 9Now).

But for any other purpose, the tablet is not especially useful, even compared to others at the same price point.

Most games I tried were very laggy, or would crash. The on-screen keyboard also lags (especially when first appearing) and is really not suitable for typing long emails or documents. I tried a variety of Bluetooth keyboards with it (Pendo's own was unavailable when I bought the tablet) and the tablet had trouble remaining connected, making them virtually unusable.

The tablet includes an app called "Online Update" which cannot be removed, and which the included OS keeps detecting as harmful. Disabling it is only temporary - it can somehow reactivate itself, leading to constant warnings from the OS.

Even with minimal use, the tablet would slow down every few days, requiring frequent factory resets.

If it is to be used purely for watching videos on YouTube, or similar apps, it is absolutely fine. For anything more complex, it will work, but there are many other tablets available at a similar price which will handle things much better.

What you'd expect – This is pretty much what you'd expect for a budget tablet. Not super fast but powerful enough to run your socials, watch movies basic games and such. I wouldn't expect to push it much further than that and still have an enjoyable experience. If you need something cheap to read some ebooks off, this would do just that  Show details

Piece Of Rubbish Pendo Stuff – I bought mine from Australia Post store for $49.95 hoping to replace my old 8" tablet that crapped out on me. Got it home and charged it up and done the normal things like setup wifi and login to my Android account. I setup my email account with gmail and I started getting emails many of them from YouTube to view video clips. This is where… Read more

it fell. I could not watch the clips because the video chip inside this thing is way under powered and they were stopping and starting, jittery and unwatchable.

Using a little program called "CPU-Z" (from the play store) it gives you all the details that the tablet has IE:

Cores = 4

Architecture = 4x ARM Cortex-A7 @ 1.34GHz

Revision = r0p5

Process = 40nm

Clock Speed = 1.34GHz x 4 Cores

Model = PNDP60M7BLK

Manufacturer = Pendo

Brand = Allwinner

Board = exdroid

Hardware = sun8i

Screen Size = 7.87 inches

Screen Resolution = 1280x800 pixels

Screen Density = 191 dpi

Total Ram = 1002 MB

Internal Storage = 4.19 GB

Available Storage for User = 2 GB

System = Andriod Version 6.0.1 - Lollipop

The spec's look good on this but for some reason it has no grunt. The Pendo Tablet has the same spec's as a Samsung Galaxy S3 yet the S3 leaves this thing in it's dust.

The battery is only 2,500 mAh Li-Ion very small for an 8 inch tablet. Maybe the reason it's so cheap! (my opinion)

The screen is not the newer OLED type now used in all newer phones and tablet pc's and is very poor at the best of times.

Many of the app's that run on my phone just won't run on this tablet. So it now has one job only. That is as a clock/ Alarm Clock. I found a nice little app that turns in into a full screen clock and with the 8 inch screen it's easy to read.

My Pendo has turned out to be a $50 clock. Such a waste.

Stay away from these things they are just too slow and would of been better if they had used Andriod 4.4.1 to make it run faster.

My score: 4/10

Brand new out of box I find it is locking up. Restart a couple of times and the OS needs an update patch. So done and restarted but that lagginess until coma is still there.

Quadcore should perform faster, is the internal memory faulty?

I have removed the 25mb of update patch temp file and I still find it laggy to the point I wait to see if it will come out of a temporary coma.

This suprpsingly exceeded my expectations – I also received the Pendo as part of the Dodo promotion and admittedly expected something as disappointing as the one I was given by someone who got theirs from a previous Dodo promotion (which was so useless we gave up doing anything with it). Ultra Budget Tablet, slow and laggy – Got this tablet as part of a Dodo promotion. The specs are listed as 8GB but upon arrival only 4GB was available. get what you pay for. It's a low end product and runs with an ultra slow processor. There is a noticeable delay on opening all applications and performing simple functions like sending an email.

The wireless card doesn't seem that robust either, I had constant signal drop-outs on wifi despite my phone being completely fine right next to it (using same wifi).

I wouldn't recommend this product unless you get it for free/ really cheap. Even then, it's got limited use outside of reading emails and maybe an e-book or two.

Load of rubbish – I obtained one of these as a freebie from Dodo. It cost me $24.90 for postage. The gadget is the most difficult device to use. The manual is just as useless. I can take photos but not download then. Music files also. I could not recommend this Pendo thing as a paper weight as it is too light. It appears to be a bait for one to get into Google.  Show details
