Pentair Onga Leisuretime LTP400

Multiple Failures – Two pumps failed Onga LPT 400. First one lasted almost 3 years and second two years and one month Onga said warranty is only good if you replace the seal at 12 months and they only give 12 months warranty on the seal. New replacement WILL NOT be an Onga product.

Poor quality pumps – Piece of junk. Broke down after 18 months use. Lucky I had a 2 year warranty, but Pentair were not going to honour it. The service tech for Onga said it was my fault the pump broke, stating it had a leak which I should have noticed and got repaired before the bearing failed. Anyway, the pool shop I bought the pump from did the right thing and fought them, I got a replacement pump ( but only 6 months warranty on it….they know it’s going to break again obviously ). Why are these Chinese made goods constantly failing these days ? They go cheap on a few very important internal parts that’s why. The two Hurlcon pumps I had previously gave over 10 years of service each. Unfortunately they discontinued a replacement model for my needs. My pump is the LTP750, same family of pump as the LTP400, just bigger.

Pump broke down after 18 months of which close to 12 months was in winter mode and ran for 5 minutes twice per day – This pool pump is not capable of handling pool chemicals according to their own service representatives. The pump was purchased to assist main pump with moving water through solar heating system on sunny days. The pump is not capable of even an hours work per day and when compared to Austral pum that does most of the work is not fit for purpose. Service agent said seal is not capable of handling pool chemicals.
