Philips Avent Electric Steam Steriliser SCF274/26

So disappointed!! Not worth what you pay – We bought this product at the start of the year for our new Bub. We were meticulous in following the instructions on maintenance and use. The plate started rusting after first use. The bottles always came out still dripping with water droplets (meaning that the steaming hadn't done a proper job). I now just use a pot of boiling water which does a much better job. So disappointing for the price you pay plus I have love all other Avent products.

Dangerous and poor quality – Started noticing moisture on my bench then a bang and power went off. The bowl leaked water onto the electrics. Luckily i wasnt electricuted. After ringing philips customer care they told me that the plastic can deform with heat??????????? I had to buy a different one as my baby wasnt going to wait 2 days. Phillips policy is not to refund but replace the item. Would not consider buying one of these!!!!

bought a 4 in 1. I was again disappointed. Since Avent is available in my country, I ended up buying this model, although reluctantly. Same issues. The plate rusts and the bottles burn and smell. Highly disappointed and upset. I don't recommend this product to anyone.

Extremely disappointed as it stinks like burnt saucepans – Despite using this as directed this appliance stinks like a burnt saucepan. Smell has gone through everything put inside. Company said to descale it. This happened within 3 uses in 2 days. Descaled and still stinks. Buy the microwave one is my suggestion. Total waste of $150. Company we bought it from wont refund and Phillips Avent were no help either. Don't buy one.

Good Steriliser – I'm using this steriliser multiple times per day for bottles, nipples, pacifiers, and pump parts. Love It! – I use this steriliser everyday and absolutely love it - just load and press the button and a short time later everything is sterlised. I have found it to be a great time saver and have been using it for my bottles and breast pump pieces. Only con is that it doesn't have a drying cycle, which would make it even better! Great steriliser – I got given this as a present. It's a great steriliser! I've nothing to complain. You do have to clean it every few uses as it does collect scum after awhile. It is easy to clean and fits a lot of items in. I don't use Avent bottles but this steriliser can fit my Nuk, Mam, Medela and Pigeon bottles and also my Medela pump parts well. Very happy with it. Does the job easily and well – This sterilizer is very simple to operate and you can fit a lot inside (all my breast pump parts and a few bottles and teats). It's very quick and keeps the items sterile for 24 hours. Easy to clean and all the parts fit together nicely. The bottles are clean .. No residue or smell & it can be used again after 30 mins just clean & empty the used water .. Start again. Quick & eady to use, the quick 8 min cleaning time is fantastic. It can take up a bit of bench space on the kitchen.

So easy to use – Fantastic product best decision we made. We bought it in a massive pack with bottles and a warmer whilst pregnant with our first child and I just found it great to use. Cant live with out it – I find the Avent Electric Steam Steriliser fast and easy to use. Im able to fit the bottles and the breast pump it and they all fit. Simple to use just a push of the button and it graet that it switches off by itself. Wish I had it when I had my older children. I love it couldnt live with out it use it everyday. Can not live without this – I use this steamer 2 sometimes 3 time per day. It is excellent for steaming all of my baby's bottles and utensils. I couldn't live without it. It's so easy to use and only takes 8 minutes to steam. Hygiene is so important to me as we live in a house with pets. It is one of those new mother essentials... reliability!!

wish i had brought this when i first had bub – after 8weeks of scrubbing bottles i got sick of it. I saw them in the shops an thought they were pretty pricey so i never bothered, i brought mind 2nd hand off ebay and i love it and i wish id started out with one. Should have had this for my first child – I find this product fast and easy to use. Bottles and they fit well. It will also fit the pump. I like that is it quiet and efficient and safe to use, and I prefer it to a microwave steriliser. The top handle is a bit tricky. I wish I had had it for my first baby. job, sterilizes. I find the entire tray connected by the rod to be really really annoying due to its flimsy nature. The trays slide up and down the rod and you can't get stuff in and out of them easily. I have resorted to throwing out the rod and just using the 2 trays stacked ontop of each other. I am using another steriliser's bottle tray instead and find this combination to be the best.

Excellent – This steriliser has plenty of room for all the gear that needs to be sterilised and is not only compatible with the avent system but also other items. it everyday so it's best to get something that is dependable and easy to use, as this one. Simple to use and quickly sterilises your bottles etc. Easy to stack/unstack. Holds only a few bottles but because it sterilises very quickly, you can easily do several loads in a matter of minutes. Get two Avent bottles with it but they contain BPA.

It is a reasonable size considering it holds upto 6 bottles at a time. It would have been nice if they made the extension cord a bit longer and made the lid sit a bit tighther on top.

customer service people are helpful and offered to have a look and advised they may be able to fix it for a small fee or even free depending on what the problem was.I no longer need to sterilize my sons bottles as hes over a year old now so i decided not to send it in.

you are not going to i would maybe say a microwave steriliser is fine. I also think they should change there box saying it takes longer then 8 minutes to do. As it is very misleading.

I would recommend this if you have a lot of bench space and dont plan on renovating and if you dont mind waiting longer then 8 minutes. Easy to use. Can fit 6 bottles plus teats. Easy to clean after each use. Bottles don't stay sterilsed for long enough if you have a slow feeder or a bub that doesn't each every 4 hours.

Says on box that it only takes 8 Minutes to do. It takes way longer then 8 minutes.

Light weight - we use ours to store bottles which we take with us when we go on long overnight trips.

Safer than boiling bottles the old fashioned way.

Easy to clean.

More affordable than the newer IQ versions Box says boils in 8 minutes. Try 16 minutes average - my husband and I have timed it several times at different capacities (full, half full etc). We are yet to find a capacity at which it finishes in less than 15mins.

Can not be switched off once started. Even after switching off at wall, once switched back on at the wall the steriliser will recommence in the ON position.

Grime builds up on the bottom quite regularly.
