Yet another good baby investment! – Don't try living without these ladies. It's so much easier having an electric steamer than using the microwave one, Milton tablets, or boiling. Saves you some time! This machine can hold up to 6 bottles and unlike some other electric steamers, this one comes in two settings. It can keep contents sterile for 6 or 24 hours. It only takes about 6… Read more

minutes for the contents to be sterilised. It's fairly easy to clean but you do have to use a special solution (two came with the box) to clean out the machine every couple of weeks. We ran out and don't see these satchels in the shops so we just use vinegar. Another good thing is because Avent bottles are so big, this machine fits most other brands of bottles.

On the negative side of things, it is a little pricey but a good investment! If you travel a lot, it's not the most convenient travel companion. It does take up a bit of room on the kitchen counter too.

All in all, a definite must! It'll make your life easier….and more sterile! You know what I mean! Easy to use, easy to clean, holds 6 bottles, can keep contents sterile for up to 24 hours, digital display, multiple settings, takes only 6 minutes, fits other brand bottles too expensive, not easy to travel with, takes up space in kitchen, didn't come with a lot of cleaning solutions

Fast and efficient – Such a great steriliser. Very easy to clean, just tip out excess water and wipe down. I de-scale once a month with vinegar and water and it is still looking brand new after using 2-3 times a day every day for almost 7 months. Big enough for 6 avent bottles at a time. I also use it for dummies, feeding utensils, sippy cups, formula dispenser… Read more

containers etc. I throw everything in it!

It takes about 6 mins to sterilise and as long as you keep the lid closed, it will stay sterile for 6 hours. Or there is a 24hour option, but i haven't used this function.

The only problem i found, which my just have been my misunderstanding, is it says on the box that the digital display shows the progress/countdown timer of how long until the sterilisation process is finished, but i don't think it does. On the 6min/6hour mode it seems to only show the countdown in the last 30 seconds or so. But no big deal, still works well and it's only 6minutes to wait!

It was expensive, but considering how often it gets used, it is well worth it. Reliable, fast sterilisation, easy to clean, big enough for everything! Expensive, but considering how often it gets used, it is well worth it.

Excellent – As far as sterilisers go they all seem pretty much of a muchness; however the two cycles and the timeliness of the cycles put this steriliser ahead of the others for me. I also like the LED display. I have not had a problem with this steriliser and I would recommend it to anyone. - takes only 6 minutes to sterilise up to 6 bottles, 6 teats, 6… Read more

caps and 6

rings

- only uses 90mls of water

- 2 cycles of sterilisation, (on cycle 1 bottles stay sterile for 6 hours,

on cycle 2 bottles stay sterile for 24 hours as long as the lid is left

in place)

- Easy to clean with natural products (vinegar and water), once a month

- Indicates when you do not have enough water in the bowel

- Indicates when you have too much water in the bowel

- Easy to use

- Not an overly large unit as sterilisers go

- LCD display

- Has a cage to hold all the ‘Phillips Avent’ breast pump pieces, for the

dishwasher and in the steriliser - The tongs are useless and fiddly; I work at a hospital so I just picked

up the anti-bacterial hand sanitiser from the supply department and I

use this before I pull the bottles out and make them up

- RRP $139.95 buy it on eBay

- No off switch, plug in the back of the unit can become loose with the

constant need to unplug the unit and drain the water out

- mine did not come with a measuring cup (maybe because I bought it second

hand, but the seller also said that they never received one)

- Designed only to sterilise ‘Phillips Avent’ products, thus I guess other

products can go in there but there is no guarantee of their sterility?

- Somewhat too large to pack to take away, I solved this by buying the

microwave version

- Lid is not lockable so it can be opened during sterilisation process

(and cause burns?)

- Does not come with a bottle brush (this has to be purchased separately)

Saves time sterilising – It is a clever steriliser and handy as it has option to keep bottles sterile up to 24 hours. we purchased it for our son back in 2009 and now using it again for our daughter 3 years later and it still works fine. Saves my time from boiling bottles to sterilise them, it is a great product! Quick and easy sterilising

get one of these - awesome! – Before I got this product, i had tried the milton method of steralising, and used a microwave steraliser; the IQ is so so so worth the purchase price (or even better if you can get a second hand one like I did!) yes, it takes up space on the bench, but for the amount of time is saves, and the convenience of having babys feeding bits and pieces (or… Read more

I have even forgotten to fill the water back up and it has a function to tell you it is low/out (blame sleep deprevation!) maybe the price? but if you can get a second hand one, definetly do it!

Does the trick but so bulky – I think id prefer the microwave steriliser because the iq 24 is really bulky. It does seem to sterilise the bottles and dummies just fine but for the amount of times that i use it (im breast feeding most of the time) id way prefer something smaller? Also it would be much better if it had a window which showed how much water was in it. Works well Bulky

Bad – The Philips Avent steriliser claims to sterilise bottles in 8 minutes...it DEFINITELY takes longer than 8 minutes!! But convenient to use, much better than boiling...I also worry about constantly microwaving plastic bottles. I bought this after using it in hospital and it is very convenient to use. Great product for everyday use – I have been using this product literally everyday and it has not failed me. I only use the 6 hour sterilisation as this worked best for me. slight yellow stain but I didn't mind so much. The product does the job well on the cleaning side but you do need abit of kitchen space for it. It isn't travel friendly and so I have ended using the Avent Microwave Sterilisation which is only when we travelled. Light, cleans the bottles well, reliable, great everyday use, low maintenance, easy to use after you know how to use it Big to take if travelling, need some kitchen space

A great time saver. Bulky on bench space. Quick – Its a great time saver. Now being due for our 3rd baby, we knew we needed something to help save some time. So we purchased this steriliser. Great steriliser, but mine also broke down! – This is a great steriliser - it sterilises in 6 minutes, and remains sterile for 24 hours. Perfect! – Love this product! Works well every time, was cheap enough when we bought it, and keeps everything sterilised for a long time. Fits 6 bottles ( a days worth!) and all the other bits and pieces that come along with it. Has never failed us so far, and is easy to transport. Fits easily on the bench. OK – This would have been a 5/5 if not for the fact a) it stopped working after 12 weeks AND that all AVENT repairs must go to the service centre, not the store of purchase.
