Excellent Product – This trimmer has been so good, I can't remember when I bought it. Shame it is discontinued. I finally have an orange light flashing at me, but I cannot find a manual to tell me what it means. Trimmer great product, manual access on the net... poor. Will have to use it until it finally fails. Who knows how long that will be! Show details ·  2

Absolute rubbish product and terrible backup support – This has been my second Phillips beard trimmer. The first (similar vacuum system) had a clear compartment that held the clippings, the hinge that held it in place snapped which left me having to hold it together every time i used it. I decided to purchase the new model hoping that it would be better. The second which was the 7000 series has a… Read more

removable head to empty the clippings compartment. It is held in place by two flimsy plastic tabs which one snapped after about 1 month of use. Now the head will not stay in place and keeps coming off, another useless Phillips beard trimmer.

I contacted Phillips support which directed me over to the Philippines to someone who couldn't really communicate on a satisfactory level and understand my problems. Since i dont have receipts or a proof of purchase due to purchasing cash i was hoping that Phillips direct could assist considering the issues i have had in the past. They didnt, nor did they understand and kept asking for proof of purchase. They provided me an email address where i sent all photos and a detailed description of the issue, this was about 1 month ago. The keep responding asking for a serial number which i have advised on many occasions is not present on either device. Basically i have gotten no where with this and left with two useless Phillips beard trimmers. Phillips have done nothing to support their product or provide an acceptable customer service experience for the consumer.

Stay away from this and other Phillips beard trimmers, in fact i will never purchase another Phillips product again based on this poor experience.

Beardtrimmer – Comfortable to use and cuts close enough for me. Interesting to see how long the blades last. Good price at $99. Very light and compact. Would have liked a bag to use when traveling.  Show reply

Does everything it should – Would be even better if it was waterproof. Apart from that it works as it should. But it has been discontinued and is no longer available. Be careful that you get the adjustable setting correct, don't get you 0.5 mixed up with you 5.0.  Show reply

Battery is dead won't even work when plugged in to power – Works ok but the battery life is hopeless. After owning it for around a year. It won't even work when it's plugged into the power point. Vacuum is ok but doesn't get everything. Better than nothing I guess.

Excellect experience with this trimmer – My wife got me this some years ago (i think 6yr) and until i recently dropped it and buggered the adjustable hair length clip thingy, it has been an excellent appliance. In fact it still works, if it weren't for the broken clip. I paniced thinking oh-crap, i hope they still sell this model, since it's been a number of years. Fortunately… Read more ·  1

they do!! I like it soooo much i've gone out and bought another one. This time adjustment dial red & clip is black, but aesthetics aside it's the same thing.

I'm very happy with it – This is my first beard trimmer I've ever owned and at first I thought that I would have to go through a few before I settled for the best one. So it's been over two years now and I've never had any problems with it, I charge it before I travel, lock it on travel mode and it keeps charged when I reach my destination without missing a beep, even… Read more ·  1

after 2 years the blades are still sharp. I highly recommend it. The durability The vacuum could work better

My own fault for buying Phillips – This product was a major disappointment, but several Phillips products I've owned have been similarly poor so really it's my own fault for going back to a brand I long ago stopped trusting. While it worked it worked decently, but not spectacularly, and I was moderately happy. The trim itself was good, but the vacuum function wasn't as good as I… Read more

expected.

The problem was, as with several other Phillips products I've owned, that it stopped functioning properly within months. The vacuum function began to stop the device dead.

As I should, I should have expected this pathetic quality from a Chinese made Phillips product and will never make the same mistake again. A decent trimmer (when it worked) It failed after a few months.

Works better than it really should – I needed something that can trim both my beard and my head hair so I had to choose between this and a normal hair trimmer. Chose this based on the depth adjustment and nice bright display - great for OCD types who need accuracy down to the millimetre :) The manual is pretty poor and doesn't explain what the grey guard is for; tried it and… Read more

wasn't able to get an accurate cut with it as it makes it too easy to cut too short. Fitted the black head and it works like a dream.

The battery light on my device keeps flashing orange but there sounds and feels like there is plenty of power, so I'll just run it down until it's flat and then charge it back up and hopefully that resets it. Also once the unit displayed a cut depth of 1mm when it was actually set to 10mm; adjusting down and back up to 10mm corrected the display.

Vacuum catches some hair but a lot still goes everywhere, including in the gap next to the trimming blades. Not a hassle to clean but could be better.

Overall though it just works really well - the goal was to avoid having to pay for haircuts and the QT4070 looks like it will let me do just that :) Accuracy (with black head), ease of use, reliable depth adjustment Temperamental display

Very happy with this beard trimmer – Like the previous reviewer I don't usually write reviews. But I am delighted with this product and felt that other people should know about it. There are heaps of these types of products on the market and it is difficult to know which model to buy. I hope this review helps a bit. It seems to have plenty of grunt, nice stubble length adjustment, is rechargeable and the offcut vacuum appears to work.  Show reply

A great buy – I don't write reviews, but I wanted to share the fact that after having owned this trimmer for a few months I have to say that it is the best I have ever owned. 1: The vacuum cleaner feature that holds most of your trimmings so the sink and surroundings don't get covered. 2: Easy solid adjustable length settings down to 1mm 3: Constant even… Read more

shave. 4: Powerful shaver with great battery life, even with the vacuum switched on. 5: Easy electronic display to show the cutting length Only one small con, trimming up right under your nose the cutters are set back too far to trim right to the nose. But that is it.
