I wish I read others' reviews before buying – Completely agree with others' opinion that this groomer has a battery issues. Mine started to play up just two months out of warranty, on fully charged going intermittently, going full speed then nearly dying and going full speed again. Rang up customer service only to find them unhelpful, don’t want to hear if it is out of warranty, the only… Read more

option offered was to buy another one at a small discount. Bought this brand because previously had Philips hair clippers without any battery issues and thought I could trust this brand. UPDATE: Philips customer service is the worst I ever come across. Looks like it is outsourced to 3rd world country. Not sure if there is a real person there, feels like I am interacting with the machine. Every couple of days I receive an automatic email, an exact copy of the one from two days ago. I copy my previous response and then I receive a reply word for word copy of the previous identical reply. I will like to send all these replies to their head office if I knew the email address. They only say that you can buy at a discount without any other details at all! How, where, when?

Performs as expected but is disposable – I bought it from the shaver shop and it performs well for 2 years until I noticed the battery wasn’t holding for long the charge so I contact philips just to find that the machine $120 is disposable and they will not change or touch the machine, lucky me I found the batteries in jaycar and make it work, anyway very disappointed of philips. Good product but bare in mind is disposable!!! Show details

Awesome machine – I've had body groomers before but they never were brilliant but I am glad I tried again because this baby is awesome. The comb is really comfortable for clippering down the legs, rear, arms and pits.....end up trying the #1 comb for this job and no comfortable prickles, rashes and I thought it was better for these areas than the #2 length comb… Read more ·  1

which left the hair a bit too long and blunt and stuck into trousers.

The shaver end has a pivoting head so it hits all the bumps and dimensions of the chest real wet giving a close shave, once again, no knicks or cuts or rashes. You can go close to the nipples without drama. I didn't venture down to the male xxx zone with the shaver....still a bit nervous about that.

Battery life is excellent and recharges fast.

The shape of the groomer is awesome, fit well in the hand, a good grip, doesn't slip in the hand.

I'm stoked and would recommend it for guys wanting to get rid of the excessive hair that gets hot, sweaty, itchy.

Perfect for the 'tender' areas – This body groomer is the best I have tried by far. The foil end gives a very close shave in all the areas I needed it for without risk of cuts. The male xxx zone is a tough one to shave at the best of times.. with this I am able to shave very easily without incident. I am yet to try the clipper end as this was purchased purely for body grooming.  Show reply

Battery life is shocking – Only had it for three months and lately the battery won't even last for 2 mins after an over night charge. Keep trying to turn it back on and quickly turns its self off. Very frustrating I don't have time to go back to the shopping centre to try and get a refund ! Philips please sort it out! Thanks

Battery life only last less than a minute – My product does not last more than 2 mins. Very disapointing. Feel duped. Only bought it as it was highly recommended by colleague. And only use it to trim my body hairs.

Terrible battery and after sales support – After reading all the reviews it seems I may have ended up with a dud TT2040. When I put it on to charge, the green light will flash for 5 - 6 minutes then turn solid green before turning off.. When using the device I only get 2 minutes use before the light flashes red again and needs to be charged. This is only used for trimming my beard on… Read more

size 4. I can't see how you are supposed to get 60 minutes use on a single charge when I can't even get 5minutes. Very disappointed with the battery life.

Also tried to call support on 2 separate occasions with zero assistance. For the couple of minutes it does work, it's great but the battery is beyond woeful.

Battery is hopeless – I use it for grooming body hair. After an overnight charge it runs for a few minutes before slowing down. I can't even get my entire chest groomed. Philips have got to do better than this.

Great shaver - after sales support not the best – The shaver works fantastic. It does everything it says it does. No problems with the shaver till the battery suddenly died and would no longer hold more than a couple minutes of charge. The after sales support were initially helpful, advising me they will send out a replacement product. Fantastic I thought. However after numerous calls and emails… Read more

and an advised maximum turnaround time of 10 business days i am now well passed a month and still left without a product. When ever I have asked to speak to a manager i have been advised that I cant and need to wait till its escalated. If it wasn't for this issue i would highly recommend the product.

The ultimate manscaper – First off, the not so good side of things. The excuse of a User Manual is abysmal and far from the usual high standards one expects from Philips and presumably it's done to dodge having multi language support and smacks of woeful penny pinching - come on Philips you're way better than that! Getting replacement foil heads in a retail store in… Read more ·  1

Australia is almost impossible but thankfully there are several great suppliers that sell over eBay and ship from Australian locations. The unit is marketed as Norelco in the US so the Norelco BG2000 or Philips TT2000 replacement foil head are the same thing just with different part numbers BUT be sure to get the genuine Philips/Norelco unit and not the cheap knockoffs from Asia. The genuine units are a light grey, not black or dark grey. Now the good news. This is arguably the best device for manscaping and yes fellas you can shave EVERYWHERE wet or dry even in the shower with the water running without your "gear" being at risk of accidental damage. The Philips blurb claims you should only use it below the neck and never on your face but I have to say maybe I've been lucky but if I go bogan and don't shave for a week such that my facial hair is to long for my Philishave (yes Philips makes the best facial shavers too) I have used the foil end of the TT2040 on my face and neck more times than I care to remember and never had any problems as it rips through the stubble without any fuss and despite what you'd expect gives a good enough shave to pass as a facial shaver, albeit still no match for a proper Philishave. Now this doesn't change the fact that Philips makes a point of saying do NOT do that so it's at your own risk but I'm putting out their for me at least it's fine to use it on your face and neck if you go slowly. No it's not as good as a Philishave (nor is anything else I've tried) but from my experience it isn't going to turn you into a Picasso lookalike. Naturally use it cautiously as no device is perfect but this is well worth the money. Like all Philips products, shop around for it as prices vary. When I bought my latest Philishave, a specialist shaver retailer had for $179 the exact same model a major department store was selling for $389 so I literally got it half price by shopping around. it's not clear in the morose instructions but the foil unit simply unclips if you pull it straight outwards by grasping the pretrimmers along the top and bottom edges and can be rinsed under running water, shake off excess water and clicked back into place, just don't press on the arched foil area when you reinsert it otherwise you'll dislodge the foil in the plastic housing and the blades with tear through the foil in minutes. All up though, worth every cent and gotta say love the feeling of keeping things trim all over... hair today gone tomorrow.

Does some of what it claims - abysmal so-called user manual – Purchased this from Shaver Shop yesterday. OK to use, presume I will get better at it - don't expect to unpack it, whiz around with it and have a perfect shave - it's not going to happen. Also, the so-called user manual, seeks to eliminate the written language and use little pictures showing how to use the product. Presumably this a a huge… Read more

cost-saver for Philips in not having to print different manuals for different languages. However, this economy is achieved at too great a cost to the consumer. For instance, wanting to clean the shaver head and know how to remove the foil guard (for future replacement): page 6 shows a drawing of two fingers holding either the shaver head or the shaver foil (it is not clear which) with a black arrow showing from where the head or foil came from. There is no indication of how to detach the head or the foil from the unit itself. Lever it off with a screwdriver ? !!!

I would say this is the worst example I have seen of a company ditching its customers' interest in favour of its own.

The Ultimate Body Groomer – If your looking for the best personal groomer this is the one. A two in one that can be rinsed on the sink. Very high quality stainless steal finish. Easy to use. Lacks cleaning instructions brochure. Other than that I recommend this Philips body groomer & I also recommend Philips irons. Everything. Lacks clear cleaning instructions. Show reply
