One star is too high
I lodged my claim in February 2019, QBE somehow “missed a step” in organising an independent medical review and it was only made in June 2019!
Despite the report going in my favour they denied liability...
Then their Lawyer had 4 staff produce completely false statements about me (including the 2 perpetrators) and the statements were totally irrelevant to my claim. I believe these were deliberately done to wear me down by upsetting me.
I paid $2000 for another independent medical report (even though the first one went in my favour there were...inconsistencies that were errors that of course the insurer picked up on, I clarified these but they wouldn’t ask their IME to amend her report), the second one also went in my favour. They still won’t accept liability although they’ve made me a pathetic offer.
Questions & Answers
What about IME lies and turning evidences around? Is it worth it??!
While the "I" in IME stands for "independent," an IME doctor is not truly unbiased and independent. IME doctors are instructed by WorkCover to perform a specific duty - to assist WorkCover in denying ongoing claims for medical benefits, and to write reports that are largely unfavourable to the injured party.
After all, IME doctors are paid for their work, and they know that if they wish to be chosen to perform IMEs in the future, they need to provide the types of written reports that WorkCover wants. It is not economically viable for WorkCover to continue to pay an IME doctor who tends to side with the injured party. For IME doctors to maintain their position on the panel and to be selected to perform future IMEs, they need to undermine the injured party's case as much as possible.
I have same problem. IME promised to amend her misleading report but she didn’t. Her best interest is money and QBE
