Purchased for $899 from WorkoutWorld. Said to be reduced from $1299. Initially bought a 5.7 for $699 (display machine) but returned this after a week when noticed clunk in pedal as someone had cross threaded it. Note WorkoutWorld says exchanges but no refunds which is a clear breach consumer rules but I liked the 5.8 fortunately.
Took 1 hour to assemble and has the most appalling assembly instructions I have ever seen, Just 3 small pages of tiny diagrams with no written instructions. Overall instructions for use limited and poor. I have n...o idea how a major company can put a lot of time into designing a bike and provide such a poor user manual. Assembly tools provided of the usual low quality and allen key would not fit allen bolts. One hole in support bar burred and needed hammer to make bolt fit. Overall construction seems good quality and surface finish terrific. If not mechanically minded get someone else to assemble it. In operation plenty of adjustment, silent in operation, feels smooth, looks great and solid pedaling. Display excellent, plenty of user programs, speakers in iPod dock OK, my iPhone 4s would not fit unless case removed - bummer. Pulse sensor works, unlike many other bikes I have used. Seat uncomfortable with prolonged use. Also doesnt have dinky transformer like cheaper models - power cord attaches directly. Cheaper bikes can have multiple levels intensity but little discernable difference till a lot at the end. 5.8 is much more linear from 25-400. Overall the best exercise bike I have ever used and OK for the money. Quiet Stylish Instructions Seat
