I am very disappointed with the Ryobi 18V ONE+ 20cm tool. This is my second unit — the first one was replaced — and the replacement has exactly the same problem straight out of the box. The unit starts cutting normally for a few seconds, then the sound changes, power drops, and it cannot cut anything at all. The motor runs, but it becomes completely ineffective and unusable. Resetting or restarting makes no difference — the problem repeats every time. Given that this is a brand-new replacement, this appears to be a design or quality issue, not a one-off faulty unit. At this point, the product is simply not fit for purpose. I’ve used other Ryobi ONE+ tools without issues, which makes this even more disappointing. I would not recommend this product, and I have lost confidence after two failures in a row.
Follow-up · I didn’t had a chance to see how battery life is as it didn’t worked since I’ve opened from the box. No, it is not designed for thick branches so I didn’t tried as I didn’t want to break it. Yes, it is comfortable to hold, but the buttons start/lock were on the much better positions on previous model.
